Not only is this a relatively fast technique, but the result is pretty stellar. It definitely stands out from the standard pure green Orks. Gives the model a nice gritty feel.
I just use a green shade like Beil-Tan green or Athonian Camoshade (or a mix of both) over white primer then a little highlighting and neatning up but this is good too
Going to be start some orks after I finish my guard and I have to say I've seen other people using this video for inspiration and I can see why, looks very good! Will be using it myself : )
I'm starting some Boyz soon, and I'm gonna give this a go with a paintbrush and glazing since I don't own an airbrush. It might not be perfect, but ork skin doesn't really have to be. I've been digging around TH-cam for a good ork skintone and this is exactly what I was looking for. The cadian flesh tone really makes them look awesome.
Can I follow with the colours but with a brush to get as close to this as possible without an airbrush? Don’t own one but your Ork skin is my favourite
You Sir, are my personal Jesus! Was looking for scheme for my orks. Pale Orruk Skin tutorial by Duncan was my go to. But You got it perfectly and simple. Thank you.
Damn, if only I hadn't painted half my Ironjawz already... How do you feel about using Oil Shades instead of Acrylic washes? Makes the cleanup stage much more controllable.
So, how do I do the rest after that? Maybe paint skin for 5-10 orcs, then use blue tac or clay to cover the skin once dry? And I assume you'll have other tutorials for that, hopefully it'll specific, but I should get to bed. Subscribed too, that was excellent.
RobPaintsModels cool! I’m into it. I’m hoping to do about 20 per day so I gotta find something that looks good. Do you pre-mix paints for horde armies?
Do you think its possible to go from a cadian flesh tone to then a pink? Ive been wanting to do a green to pink transition for a while without it looking muddy havent found a way but your style might work.
How did you get such a smooth waaagh flesh with your airbrush? Every time I try to thin it down it covers like shit. Any suggestions? I use water, flow improved and thinner and it’s all not helping
1) Airbrush - Base - Waagh flesh
2) Airbrush - Highlight - Stracken green
3) Airbrush - Final Highlight - Ushabti bone
4) Airbrush - Details - Kadian fleshtone - around mouth and wounds, drawn tight skin like elbows
5) Wash - Athonian camoshade
The skintones are awesome!
And for the record, this is literally all I can hear now when I look at orks. Good soundtrack choice!
Iv just started painting orks so this is a fantastic way of doing the flesh!
How I do all my orks now! Thanks for the inspiration

Love this tutorial, useful and useable, but also you made me laugh out loud with your reference to the mighty Dunc!

Awesome, easy technique!
Wondering, if I could apply this scheme and then slapchop the rest of the materials? I guess liquid masking would work here?

I’m assuming that these base colours you’re using are easily switchable with others right
Thanks for the guide love the fact you went with a flash git
Glad it helped
Still miss your videos. Waaagh
Wait wtf, how do you get the big paint bottles? :o
Damn, if only I hadn't painted half my Ironjawz already...

I know this video is old now but what was that music?

I should add. An new to airbrushing, have all the equipment now, so if I sounded like an airbrushing noob, I am!
They ought to put a few ammo runts in that box set, as these lads would certainly need some help with reloading.
Rob, can you plz do one of these where you dont use an airbrush and get the whole model finished in about 30-40 minutes? Thx!
I'm going to be painting Kommandos very soon. Any tips or advice on adding a camo patern to the skin?
i love Waaagh Brushing, well done sir
Love this sound track
That looks great thanks for the tutorial! Does anyone know the closest Vallejo air paints are to match these colours?
That lokks really nice.
Love the mechanic hand .May i ask where you got that ork fella .Also track name ?:D
What model is that ?
And thsnks for the vid
So I realize this is more of a special character in an Ork army. Is there anyway to cut a couple steps for the boys and grots of a waaagh?
I do all these steps for all my orks. When you're doing 20 at a time it's still very fast.
RobPaintsModels cool! I’m into it. I’m hoping to do about 20 per day so I gotta find something that looks good. Do you pre-mix paints for horde armies?
RobPaintsModels one last thing, do you wash only into the recesses or do you wash over everything?
Wash everything just don't let it pool on the flat surfaces
RobPaintsModels ahh very nice. Thanks a bunch.
