Thanks for watching. I have never had to work on the spinning lug. I just did a quick TH-cam search and found about 20 different videos including different methods of breaking, drilling, wedging and sawing. I think it depends on your exact situation. If there is enough room, I might be trying a socket, breaker bar and a cheater bar and see if I could break it off. If that did not work, I think I would buy a couple good metal drill bits and try to drill it out. Good luck and let us know what you find out works.
@fixitwithbeer2435 so I have a couple things workin against me. The biggest thing is the bolts are inset so I can't really bend it back and forth to try and snap it off. And it is a lug nut style, so I'm not sure if they can be drilled out
When i took off my brake calipers and then tried to put it back on, it no longer fit... I had to push all sides and wiggle as hard as i could... Wasnt ideal... Any tips on how to keep that brake pad distant the same when it comes off and/or how to open up the brake pads enough to fit it on the disk easily?
When changing pads, I use a C clamp and the old pad to open the caliper. I have seen a guy use a small wood block and a pair of channel locks. Any kind of wedge or a stack washers would probably work. Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
Good Catch Vicki. I have a stash of old plates in case I ever have to disappear. My daughter was concerned about having her plate front and center on TH-cam. However, if you look at the other Subaru videos, her plate is probably less prominently featured. Thanks for watching.
That’s smart I was breaking my head how to install to save some money low in budget lucky came across this video
Pablo, thanks for watching. Glad the video helped.
Nice work!
Thanks Kevin. This was a rewarding project to get checked off the list.
What to do if the lug isn't snapped off but it just spins like it's stripped out in the hub?

Is it in there pretty tight? Can you push the nut all the way in and try to get to the back of the stud with a saws-all?
@fixitwithbeer2435 it's pretty loose now. I can't get behind it. I think it's a brake guard back there

Why do you have a Wisconsin license plate that's 50 years old?
