Coincidentally I had the exact same thing happen on the exact same wheel on my crosstrek. Is there anything you can do to get it pressed in without that collar tool?

Hello, thank you for posting your question. You can use an open lug nut to install the wheel stud

You can stack washers to get the same affect.
