Iv just made these...family descended upon them whilst still warm from the oven....asked my 6yr old grandson...are they nice...'they are more then nice nanny, they are gorgeous'...thanks for the recipe 👍😊
Thank you chef. I made them today. Four people in my house and only 4 muffins left. They‘re great, yum! Here is the recipe adapted from your original one: 1 1/2 cups organic flour(don‘t pack) 1 1/2 tsp baking powder 1/4 tsp baking soda 3/4 cup granulated sugar 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa 1 cup Tall House chocolate chips 1 cup buttermilk 3 TBSP butter, melted 1/4 cup light olive/cooking oil 1 tsp vanilla extract 1 large egg Bake at 400°F for 17 minutes in my oven(baking time may vary the type of oven).
I watch a lot of TH-cam cooking by non professionals, and by far, he is the best. I won’t say that all the recipes are Ok with me ( I follow a low carb, low fat eating lifestyle) but he is like a pro.
4:24 "Beat the Living Hell outta it, like it owes you money". Okay, okay, stop the video, I'm peeing myself laughing. Truly, the funniest line on a cooking show, I have EVER heard! David, you bring joy to so many, but especially me. And at 70 years old, I like learning from you. Bless you!
I think Noneya's suggestion (below) is worth repeating: "Don't forget to tell your viewers to also add 1/4 tsp of salt for every cup of plain flour if they aren't using self rising. Prepackaged self rising flour has salt in it , well at least in the US it does." One of the reasons for not whipping the batter is to avoid developing (denaturing) the gluten in the flour, causing the crumb to be too firm and "dry" by mouth feel. Thank you for this cheery video!
I am a terrible cook. But, thanks to you, I make an awesome three ingredient peanut butter cookie and mini apple pie. I can’t wait to try this muffin. I love chocolate. Wish me luck.
I just made these and they are THE BEST EVER!!!! I used full milk with lemon juice and milk chocolate chips as that's all I had on hand. I'll make them again with buttermilk and semi sweet for sure. Zapped for 22 seconds in microwave just before eating.....YUUUUUUUUMMY!
David. Let me breathe over here, these chocolate muffins looks phenomenal! Your reaction to them sold me. I’ve never made muffins before, but I’m gonna give these a try this weekend.
Buttermilk - how its made. Full cream milk is seperated into cream and milk in a seperating machine. The cream is then put into a churn. After churning, butter is produced. What is left is buttermilk. I know bcse I grew up on an Irish farm where we had our own small dairy. I hve often churned the cream. It doesn't take long bfe the butter is made. It is then salted and patted into shape. Yumm...
Buttermilk is a catalyst for the baking soda. If you can't find buttermilk even I can in the far North United States but also in our baking aisle and perhaps in yours there was a small box with for envelopes each envelope makes 1 quart of buttermilk. It is dried buttermilk that you just add water to and it is fabulous it's made by the same company that makes baking cocoa with the little chef on the outside. You may be able to find that if you can't find fresh buttermilk.
Dark, sweet, with an amazing coco flavor......Not the first time Iv heard that...LOL! Glad to see you're back...I turn everybody I can on to your channel...
I work in a bakery in the southern US. And I love my job! We have multiple muffin types! Pumpkin spice, peach cinnamon, blueberry, banana chocolate chip, banana nut, etc. But my favorite is our take on the double chocolate muffin, we use Dutch Cocoa too! We also use mini chocolate chips and its absolutely amazing!
David, I tried these muffins and oh my they are so stinking good. I am gonna make some with choc chips and peanut butter chips next. Thank you so much again.
Made them today and enjoyed them a lot! They are not too sweet and the chocolate chunks are amazing when melted during the baking process! My mom loved it. Thank you for this recipe! Lots of love from Mauritius ❤
"Big butch pink whisk". Love it! Best chocolate muffins ever. Easy and far cheaper than buying at the store. You must try these! PS. Smelled so good I couldn't wait. Almost burned my lips on melted chocolate. Let them cool slightly.
I have tried multiple double chocolate muffin recipes and this one is by far the best. I started checking doneness after 15 minutes because my oven is sometimes a little fast.
New subscriber here...I love chocolate...many years ago the top of my wedding cake was chocolate and when you get married you save the top of your wedding cake and freeze it and have it when you celebrate your 1st year of marriage...WELL after a year in the freezer it tasted awful! BUT these muffins look delicious and you can bet I will be making them! I am enjoying your videos very much...thank you!
All my baking owes me money for all the gym memberships I have to pay for . As always David, love to you and the whole one Pot Chef family around the world with love from Elle in England xx
Will be trying these tomorrow afternoon. :) Took a bit to get the ingredients, I used the all purpose flower and baking powder. They didn't rise as high as yours, they went to about the top of the cup-cake wrap, but they are dense, and moist. Great tasting.
I made these recently and they're oh so good. Very rich so you won't tend to over indulge in one go. I would add some nuts in the next time for added crunchy texture.
This was a superb recipe! I have always wanted to be that mum that bakes (no idea why) and gave this a try. They are delicious! I've made them twice. I did some slightly different things - As far as I'm aware, we don't have buttermilk in the UK so I made my own as suggested (full fat milk, blue lid) with a tablespoon of lemon juice so thank you for that! I used Cadbury dairy milk instead of dark chocolate, I know it's sweet but I don't eat much chocolate so I wanted to go all out haha! I found 200 degrees too hot for the muffins the first time and the chocolate got burnt so the second time, I didn't put chocolate on top and I had the temperature at 180 degrees instead and they were beautiful. I added a very small amount of full fat milk to the whole mixture just to make it a little less sticky too but I didn't add a lot. My daughter was obsessed with the finished product and I was so proud, I used some work friends as my food guinea pigs (which I would never normally do!) And they loved them too! Thank you so much one pot chef! You are hilarious by the way 😂
Absolutely BRILLIANT video... Funny, educational, easy to follow and alternatives to ingredients... Perfect!!! Incredibly likeable guy too so it doesn't get any better than this 👍👍👍👍Fantastic tip on them being freezable as well!

As a chocoholic these muffins just might be my new addiction. How phenomenally decadent.
