I don't comment much, but after watching this one (albeit lengthy) video, my game has improved over night. I don't look at table layouts the same as I did before. Thank you!
Another sensational video by someone I believe is the best pool instructor in the world - Tor Lowry. Nothing against all the other guys and gals, but the way Tor teaches is MASTER level and if followed I have no doubt a persons game will improve dramatically. The only thing better would be getting lessons from Tor in person - but that seems damn near impossible.
This video is gold. It's a lot to take in but it is exactly what I need to progress forward. I'm 45 now and after 30 yrs have gotten close to the upper level for my region but these are the tid bits that I haven't incorporated but I think there is still time to make the jump forward to beco.e a treat at bigger events once I work this into my game. Thank you and God bless you for all your hard work and teaching.
Still best teacher on TH-cam. Tor introduced me to Bob Byrne as well, who also has great information on the game which is still relevant to players today.
Two of your tips on here just changed my game forever ♾️ something I didn't even realize I was doing before an someone got me to change it but now I'm doing it again an I'm really not missing anything unless I'm under pressure I have to exit better and stop giving away game's I have watched this video 6 times I can't thank you enough for putting this information out here
I picked up the Zero X videos when they first came out so I'm one of Tor's first customers. I've played a lot of pool since then and I am always trying to learn more about the game. If you are new to billiards I can save you a lot of time. Study Tor's videos and read every billiard book you can find by Robert Byrne. These are the two best instructors that have ever taught the game.
Tor, you continue to bless the world with your profound pool knowledge. I say this for many when I say that you are very appreciated. Thank you for another superb video.
Looks like Tor is working on his Magnus Opus for pool training- if this vid is just Chapter 8! I’ve bought almost all his vids and I’ll buy this one too. Priceless. I am just finishing one of his best drill sets this month (ball pocketing training ebook). Took me more than a year to complete, but it was worth it.
This video above my skill level but it helps train my brain to look at the spread differently. This was a really good video. And i love the above table view in conjunction with the graphics used. Well done!
Hey Tor! Another video to add to my arsenal now. If you are ever planning on stopping by NJ, give me a shout! Thanks! 🎱 Maybe one of these days I can head out to Utah for more training or to just catch up. I went to the US Open last year in 2022 because Atlantic City is only 1 hour south of where I live in NJ but I won't be able to make it out this year. I can't believe it's been over 9 years since you selected me for the training experiment in person in July of 2014. Forever grateful and thankful. Thank you and God bless Tor! 🎱 🙏 🤲 😇
After watching this video, I noticed that I needed to use a compact stroke with a slightly bent elbow that allows me to follow through on my draw shots and regular shots. I’m definitely going to get this video when it comes out. Thank you Tor!
Dude, this is amazing! I am just good enough to hook my self and not run out, lol these position shots and drills will put me into striking distance for pro level!
Thanks for the impeccable content. I have trouble following the concepts at the fast speed of the audio explanation. While the content is superb I’m having so much trouble with the fast presentation that I’m not getting as much out of the video as I would like. I think your ideas and concepts are second to none.
Thanks Tor, another great video for advanced billiards. keep up the great! work. I always look forward to seeing a new one come out. you are one of top elite teachers. THANKS AGAIN
tor you are a great couch in pool a can tall with out a doubt. i i go to on you tube the first i see is your videos after a will you work new video i cant tell you how i am happy i was if i can gate a chance and if you show me like 14 day experiment i can do a lot. great work keep up on it and i want to see you pool billiard academy tor pis and love.
Hi Tor! Great binge-worthy content and I doubt you'll see this comment, much less respond, but I'd like to see a video demonstrating various pro players' strokes. Some players have a long, beautiful almost "wavy" or loopy, loose and relaxed stroke resembling a"figure 8" or see-saw motion like many Filipino players, including Efron and Bustamante. While others have a high and frozen elbow with a straight take-back and follow-through. Hope I'm describing this right. I love Efron and SVB's stroke. Thank you!
You're right, there are a lot of different types of strokes out there. I'll be putting together a section in the new pool book on this subject and will discuss it also in the upcoming Secrets 4 video.
Hello Tor, A quick question regarding the Center Angle drills Download from your site. I believe the answer may help others as well. First off, thank you! Awesome content as always. You are the Yoda of cue sports! We are so used to you being very specific and precise with your instruction that I want to ask if you could be a bit more specific with what you mean by “Begin the drills by first shooting with side spin.” (#2 on the list of 5 directions.) A tip of spin, less… more etc? Or is the intent to find your own sweet spot? Or is that a typo? I would think practicing these drills with no English first is a good idea. Then progressively work from there. Anyway, I think a number of us may appreciate your answer. Either way, thanks again. Uh, may the force be with you.
Hi, thanks for the kind words. I believe in those drills the goal is to learn how to pocket each of the 30 shots with both sidespin and center ball. This drill should be practiced after learning proper sidespin. The goal of these drills is to determine which shots are easier to pocket when it comes to using sidespin and center ball.
Stellar video. Labelling diamonds with numbers feels redundant tho. I understand when you do it in some multi-rail kicking system but what's the point to call a diamond 30 if this number is not involved in any calculations? Just aim at the diamond, lol.
It's just easier to think about at times. Also, it is maybe not so needed for the diamond itself - but what about hitting 26 on the rail? That is really what labeling the diamonds and numbers are for. I do this all of the time, and also teach my son this way, and it just makes it easier to know where you want to hit on the rail.
@@jamesdavis8731 so, you're literally trying to shoot at point right between second and third diamond and thinking "that's 25 and I need one inch more so it's 26"? To each it's own I guess, I'd just... well, shoot one inch to the left from the middle of the two diamonds :).
Great video! Can someone please tell me what are the little dots he uses to mark out the ball positions on the table when he's practicing? I've tried googling them but I keep getting black ball spot marker dots. Cheers!
Where does someone like me get a printout sheet like your 6 table page where we can draw out shots or full page pool table for shot lines and such? I always have to draw my own with markers and takes so long
