My pool game improved so much, thanks to this channel especially the 14 day challenge. Keep up the good work

I think what I am going to do next is watch some pro matches and this time, stop the video at the bird's eye of the break resulting layout, and then try to carefully do this same type analysis, taking the time necessary to think each shot through carefully. I will also try to call the shot parameters for each shot they take, for speed contact points, etc.
I'm thinking this might, to use your wording (which I like), hone my rotation patterns to something far beyond what they are now. This allows an easy check as the pro runs the pattern, seeing their thought processes as they work their way through the solution.
I would very much like to be able to take some lessons from you, and maybe sometime in the future that will be a possibility. Another instructor that impresses me is the FX Billiards guy, but you would definitely be my first choice.
As I am getting older I'm pretty much not able to spend 10 hours a day at a table (mostly my back, though I do find pool does a GREAT job of strengthening it, which helps prevent injury and fatigue performing other physical tasks). That became exceedingly obvious after recently getting back to a table after COVID. That, and it felt downright foreign getting down on the first shot, not something I remotely would have thought of or predicted. Weird.
As I've commented more than once, your channel is absolute gold when it comes to improving ANYONE'S game, certainly mine. Once again, thanks for taking the time to construct these wonderful videos that are eminently instructive, fun to watch, and so valuable. You, Dr Dave, FX, and a very few others (Neil Feijn's channel has some useful info) are golden. I point people back to this channel on their vids, too, so this is not a one way street. :-)
I hope that might be useful, in some small part to people just beginning their journey into the very complex world of above average pool, or in some cases, VERY much higher, and I've gotten a few replies to some of them that seem to make it look like it's not a total waste of time.
I took a lesson from one of the local instructors, and while I learned a couple of useful things, and obviously one, or just a few lessons are not going to do TOO awfully much for an overall game, I found the level so far below this channel's material that I just gave up on them and realized I can get a lot more here. The one thing that I did find useful taking in person from an instructor was the immediate feedback on stroke mechanics, etc. When I implemented some of it, some was beneficial and some downright useless, or worse, which I expect is true for many people. No one size fits all. One funny story is I was watching him play one day (he IS very good) and I noticed a problem with his stroke, he was cocking his wrist, not normal for his stroke. I pointed it out, his shooting immediately improved, and he said "Thanks, good observation".
Now if I could just execute remotely at the level of the extent of the knowledge I've gained from channels like this one. Practice, practice, practice, I guess, and directed, well observed, useful practice. One interesting comment I heard from one of the obviously knowledgeable commentators the other day (the Jeremy Jones/Mark Wilson, guest pro types), was that one of the differences between the way that pros practice and amateurs practice is that an amateur works a missed shot until he gets it, where a pro works it until he CAN'T MISS IT. Also that pros observe every aspect of every shot they take. When a guy like Efren very frequently picks up a ball and sets up a shot he missed during the match multiple times, others should take notice, pretty much guaranteed.
It is all too easy to find web content providers of pool "help", often on YT, that provide utter crap for content, even game damaging info. Channels like yours are few and far between, I have found. Again, thanks, it is appreciated.
Rock on, pool players. This game deserves so much more interest than it garners. I suspect part of the reason is that it is hard to really learn, to any great extent/high level of play. I have seen that some pick it up very quickly, others like me have to work at it for an extended time, but in either case years of play definitely extend the skills/knowledge needed to play it at a very high level. And bad habits are MUCH harder to break than none at all, starting out fresh with the right information, to THAT I can attest. I apologize for the novella, for anyone that actually got this far, if any. One question, have you ever thought of doing a video on the mental aspect of pool?

[27:02] What is the reason for playing this shot with draw, as opposed to follow?

The tangent line is near to nine, but also its personal preference.

Tor does an amazing job on these videos, but it highlights the soft touch required for these rotation games. I'd prefer 3 rail minimum and any ball first to rid the snookering. Just saying. Then we won't have so many so called pros who can't play side or power for shit.

This video deserves millions of views. More important than pocketing balls. Going to save this and practice some of these layouts. I feel more knowledgeable just watching this, hope it downloads into my subconscious.
