Scaphoid or distal radius fracture are at the top of the differential for a "wrist fracture near the thumb" (and where LaMelo was pointing), but it's certainly possible that it's one of the other wrist bones and/or theres associated ligament injury that has made this more severe.

One of the bright spots of this season was watching Lamelo come into his own! Devonte Graham is low-key smiling though, no matter how twisted that sounds. He lost his starting job and a lot of minutes to the young buck. I really hope he mends well and comes back as good as he left. I've had that exact same break myself and it took 2 surgeries to get it right with 9 months being in a cast. The scaphoid was my worst wrist injury because it was the bottom half of the scaphoid that didn't heal and it never got the proper amount of blood flow. Hence the long healing process. Hopefully the 2nd opinion Lamelo is getting is better than the first. You better believe that this is Lavar pushing for that! Great video Doc!

Can someone give me the long story short version of this video? I don’t have time to watch it right now. I just want to know what the best case scenario and worst case scenario for Lamelo is .. in terms of his injury. and also what the most likely injury he suffered was with the healing time frame . Would be much appreciated 🙏

Dr. Brian explained in the Steph curry video that u cant fracture your tailbone. Or it's basically impossible. A tailbone injury would probably be short term. Now with LaMelo's broken wrist he's out for the season ):

I had this but from skateboarding. I heelflipped a gap going as fast as i could. I broke my ulna, and dislocated my hand and compressed my wrist bones up into my hand so it was like a smooshed Z. I had to get my wrist stretched back out to reset my wrist, they decided to not do surgery that first healing process, then after the healing, they discovered bad damage to my ligaments or tendons in my wrist so my wrist bones started spreading apart, and i had excess bone growth scarring on my ulna causing pinching in my nerves and veins in my wrist. So i just underwent my second procedure where they cut and carved excess bone in my ulna, cutting a triangle out then putting in a screw to compress the bone, then they cut one of my 2 arm tendons that i guess i had where some people only have one going down there arm, i had 2, they told me they could use one of the 2 because its like a left over tendon or something idk. So they cut it, then drilled a hole through both wrist bones to then tie a knot loop through my 2 bones and pulled them together. So the shitty thing is.... now my wrist is WAY too tight.... so i get bad pain and discomfort every time im twist or bend my hand or wrist or do any sorta action with my hand. I went from being able to do push ups, throwing baseballs, playing basketball, digging with shovels and pick axes, to now i can't even do a push up, not even one. I can't even throw a ball without grabbing my wrist in discomfort. So unfortunately i have to undergo another surgery because im also developing a gangular cyst on my ulna, which is showing slight damage to the joint but thats not a big deal, they just need to loosen my wrist so i get range of motion back and create more space in my wrist so its not pinching my nerves. It has been a shitty last couple of years dealing with all these procedures and i was a general contractor, carpenter, landscaper, remodeling worker and i had to stop because i also tore my left ACL and that surgery didn't go well either and i lost my ability to lock my leg and engage/activate my quad or pull up my knee cap, so im going to have to under go another knee surgery as well.... Shit im just ranting but im not trying to complain i just felt like sharing a story lol. My bad lol
