Just imagine unleashed mods. Man these levels would look and play so well with unleashes controls and physics
There are many unleashed mods heck I made tutorials how to install them check those out they aren't anything too big yet...

Personally I like how Colors Ultimate is darker, just feels a little more accurate to being in space. The bloom is definitely too high, but I like the darkness with the florescent lights

@@nickname2239 yeah I agree, which is why I like how the lights are more florescent, but I just think the bloom is too high, especiallyon Sonic's model. If they did more natural lighting it could've looked even better than it does, but I still think it looks good as it is especially in person

You can tell Sega dropped the ball in forces when the games are compared, forces unfortunately falls flat on its face. However i will give them props for creating a lighting engine in 4 years and completing a fully functioning game in a year. Sad that forces isn't getting it's rushed face a chance to shine due to the horrible backlash, hope the next game is great! (Honestly I'm glad Sega is taking there time with this next game.)

people who made that custom level had no idea of cameras and lighting
I just don't like the lighting in Forces in general, so it's obviously a problem if you wanna make a level on it.

The reboosted mod is sure a lot better than the original, to bad SEGA didn't change the level designe of some levels for ultimate
@@shidac39 agreed, if ultimate had an option to have generations style levels and the rings filling the boost guage, that would have been AWESOME!

Honestly, I think the original still looks the best, technical stuff notwithstanding. I think ultimate might be my second favorite here, but it’s close with gens. Ultimate just looks a little slicker to me, probably because the game looks blown out instead of oversaturated. Forces doesn’t look like it was correctly ported

Every Sonic Game have Sonic Colors Stages like Tropical Resort,Sweet Mountain,Starlight Carnival,Planet Wisp,Aguarium Park,Asteroid Coaster and Terminal Velocity!
I legit thought the Generations one was real for a sec cuz i never played generations 😂
I don’t think the tropical resort mod is forces being bad, it’s more likely the mod creator’s fault, as other stages such as the space one in forces have a darker environment and can very easily make them look good, this is definitely on the mod creator, he didn’t put effort to make the stage look good, anyways uh normal colors wins in my opinion.
Visually i would pick generations, gameplay i would pick ultimate

Generations will always be the best, here is my ranking for each version!!! 1st place: Generations, 2nd place: Ultimate, 3rd place: Original, 4th place: forces, now to name each best thing about each game!!! Generations: Boosting and character/level design and effects/lighting, Ultimate: Customization and quality improvements/lighting, Original: lack of glitches on certain consoles and good quality for its time, Forces: Visuals [nothing more, that's how bad forces is and how good generations is].

Everyone is complaining about Sonic colours ultimate, and to be honest, I don't see how it's so bad.
The lighting is wayyyy better, and it looks good too.

The OG Sonic Colours is my favourite. I also love the visuals, aesthetics and vibrant lighting of it much more than the others.
Me too! I didn't apply the HD texture pack here but even with basic upscalling this games holds up amazingly!

To break everything down
Hedgehog Engine 1: An absolute banger engine when it comes to technical ambitions and gorgeous effects, lighting, and animation.
Hedgehog Engine 2: A decent engine with Higher Quality Texture work, better lighting, nice screen spaces reflections, and massive stages that stretch out way off into the distance.

In sonic forces i feel like running slow while boosting in 2d sections
Some things of note about the Forces version:
1. Why’s Sonic’s voice different?
2. How is the lighting WORSE than Ultimate’s?
3. Why’s the boosted music sound so awful?
1. It's the Japanese voice for sonic.
2. Either the mod creator screwed something up or that type of lighting is not supported by he2
3. Idk lol
With the lightning it's because the creator of the mod just ported the geometry and every other aspects of the Gens mod and since Gens has a nerfed lighting system unlike Forces or even Unleashed it looks this amateur
Answering to the 2nd question:
FOR REAL! Even Ultimate looks awesome compared to Forces! Either the creator screwed up something or tried to be the most close possible to Forces' visuals lol

Both Generations and Forces play fine. But the thing is, Generations physics make quite a difference when playing Colors on it. It isn't as natural. Forces is also super weird. Sonic while boosting, goes faster in the 3D sections, and slower in the 2D sections. And some more stuff, too. Sorry, but i have to give it to Colors Ultimate.

why are you not using higher resolution footage of Sonic Colors Footage from dolphin? .. also, theres a discord notification at 0:52
I am using 1440p sonic colors upscaled and I know I have a discord notification on 0:52
@@IconicStudiosTheAnimator you should probably upload a fixed version where you dont have that notification, and turn on anti aliasing on dolphin too, the settings you choose to represent the game with, i do not consider to be either optimal or fair, since all other versions have antialisasing enabled. i hope your channel has a bright future.

Actually sonic colors was originally a will port of generations they just made a different game for the wii when they realised that generations would have been impossible to port to it.
I think u mixed up colors with 06..

@@thefollower2933 Ara ara, get with the times my guy. The game is on PSnow (its ass but its there) and it's on Series X through backwards compatibility which runs the game 4k60, also Xbox one also got an update for 4k (no 60fps tho).

They merged act 1 and 2 but I stopped at the end of act 1

You probably didn't notice because it isn't actually in the game. This video shows off a Tropical Resort level mod that recreates the level exactly in generations, as well as a similar mod for forces.
Sonic forces lighting looks really bad.
The stage just really isn't meant for the engine.
That isn't true, the mod creator literally didn't add lighting, they just copy & pasted the geometry and textures from the generations mod.
Should I be surprised the Sonic Forces version looks so terrible?

sonic doesnt gain his speed consistently like in older games, he just instantly goes from fairly slow to fast like how do u mess that up in a PLATFORMER
Well a basic answer is.. it's forces.. a more complex answer is.. they use a modified character controller of lost world in forces.. the run button stuff didn't translate properly in forces so we get this janky mess lol

@@IconicStudiosTheAnimator Its because none of the lighting objects were imported. Any stage would look bad in any lighting engine if you remove the lighting, its nothing to do with forces.

Na minha opinião eu gostei mais do generations, tem um tom de cor mais vivo as iluminações mais claras etc. Realmente gostei do Mod. Agora o Sonic Forces a fase parece não estar muito viva (é apenas minha opinião)

The lighting is awful I was too focused on getting a "good run" I didn't notice it that much but when explored the stage with free cam I noticed many missing materials and lighting effects.
