There is a float in the drip tray that raises a little red indicator through the hole in the front centre of the drip tray, to tell you when to empty it. From what I could see on yours, the hole is there but I couldn't see the red float. Is it missing?
Oh very interesting. I never saw it, so potentially it is missing! Will double check when I get home and see, perhaps it is stuck somewhere. Many thanks for letting me know.
I have mine set at the hottest setting, and it comes out reasonably hot...maybe Chris' mustache cools his off because I find it to be a very small sipping coffee at first! This is especially true of the coffee-only drinks...once you add milk, the drink cools off a bit. I wish the milk came out hotter, but for the ease of use, I can settle for the milk temperature. I LOVE this machine!
Yes all the lights on the front of mine are illuminated, and I'm in Australia. But there is only one model here. It sounds like yours might have a fault if there are no front lights working. Can you take it back to the store?
@@popmonica4121 Oh, that's unfortunate. Yeah, the lights are supposed to be working. Sorry. Might just be a fuse or similar. Perhaps you could reach out to Philips customer service and see what they have to say?
Please can you do another video but with less chat as I wanted to hear how loud the machine was but unfortunately, there was too much narrative from your goods self when it was grinding and brewing.Thanks.
I can try and do a sound test video, although I'm not sure if it will be too meaningful given it's recorded through a mic, then played on a computer where you could have the volume at any level? Could be worth a try.
Just bought the 5500. Think it’s pretty much the same. Love it.
Glad to hear your enjoying it!!
I love my 5400. Had it a few weeks and it is awesome
I lent it to my dad for a few months recently, and he won't give it back, lol!
Great review man!

@@motivatedtravel Was it missing?
How is the temperature of the coffee with this machine?
I'm happy with it. Doesn't come out burnt, and can be sipped almost immediately without discomfort.

Doesn't taste watery at least, imo.
Just brought mine two days ago, I love it, great coffee everytime.
Awesome. We must be 300-plus coffees deep now, still working a treat.
