On "My Car Story" we're in Naperville IL on 6-11-22 at the Iron Gate Motor Condos.
We're looking at a 2001 Audi TT Quattro Convertible in Green Paint. This car has the factory 1.8 Liter 4 cylinder engine, and has a 6 Speed manual transmission.
The car's Owner is John Haboush. John’s had the car since 2021. John shares he was working at a car dealership and saw an Audi TT for the first time he fell in love with the shape, then he saw the convertible and that was it, he hoped to have one someday. This has an optional “Baseball Glove” stitched seats. A Friend at a dealership shared with him this car came in and is for sale, and it is exactly what he was looking for and he purchased it. The Audi TT takes its name from the successful motor racing tradition of NSU in the British Isle of Man TT (Tourist Trophy) motorcycle race. The TT name has also been attributed to the phrase "Technology & Tradition".

Thank you so much for this. I've just started looking for a Baseball Stitch interior 2001-2.
I particularly enjoyed seeing the Chicago area as I lived there in the late '60's and raced a '54 Austin-Healey at Wilmot. The TT will be me getting back to a roadster.
I also have a riding bike collection, including an '82 Colnago Superissimo as well as a Wheeler.

Hey Lou, just found this video. I own more or less the similar car. Same color for body and roof and the phenomenal brown baseball seats. The only difference is that mine is a 180 bhp FWD. I love it and I'll keep it. I think prices will only go up in the future.

Sold these TT 225s when they were new in 2001. Nimbus Gray was popular too.This green was not as popular... They went for 1000 over sticker when they came out. Built on a VW Golf platform... A real blast to drive. Thanks Lou. This one brings back memories... i started selling Audis in 1989...

Ya really got me with this one, big bro Lou. As a card carrying Robin look-alike (Holy tubesocks Batman! lol) and perpetually boyish JV baseball guy this car is obviously highly desirable. That beautiful Green Arrow (my hero) green with the basball stitched leather interior? A baseball guy's fantasy (Marlene Dietrich would approve, too ;). So awesome to see a 1st gen in this condition, and loved on as this guy does. Love the simple and conservative and overly engineered German Audiness-the design was called "Bauhaus" and it harked to an earlier time of Audi (all those rounded arcs and shapes) and it's storied and (somewhat) infamous history. Only lasted for 3 generations before they pulled the plug on the model in favor of the bloated SUV craze.....but this little guy is a gem. Thanks big brother! :) JV Johnny

I leased a brand new 2002 TT AVUS silver/lipstick red leather (not baseball stitched) 2 + 2 "ALMS Special Edition Coupe" Had factory 10 spoke 18" wheels. Great driver could have used more than 225 HP, but still fun to drive with 6 speed. Prefer the look of coupe over the convertible. Exhaust note gets louder/better in high rpm range. At time I chose it over Porsche Boxster. Seats much nicer in the Audi. Thanks for going out of your automotive comfort zone Lou! Never too late to expand you horizons. haha

Y la verdad que ese color verde obscuro junto con esos asientos en café lo hacen ver bastante elegante y confortable. Named after the Isle of Man motorcycle race. Audi began as a motorcycle manufacturer.
The TT is really a hybrid, a touring-sportster.

The Mk1 TT first debuted at the Frankfurt Motor Show, as a “concept car.” It was never intended to go into production. However it was so well received, Audi did just that. Consequently it was over engineered, its lucky owners were getting a well built car. Which is probably why there’s still plenty of them around today.
Very few 2000’s autos excite me. This one gives me the chills! And the Lord said,
“Thou shall not covet.” Ohhhhhhhhhh…

nice styling for an Audi though I personally would never drive an Audi as a result of a recurring nightmare which my mom also has If I wanted a convertible from that era that wasn't a Mustang/Corvette I'd got for either a Toyota Camry Solara Convertible XSE V6 a Chrysler Sebring Convertible limited trim or a 2001/2002 Cadillac Eldorado convertible as it was the last year of the Eldorado and my late maternal grandfather had had an Eldorado Seville 1968 model year in rosewood firemist metallic/black trim leather interior
