    got the 4cyl 2wd about 4 months ago. At the time, toyota had a 0% int deal for the 2wd tacos. great truck. I didn't want the frills or a big infotainment screen. it's not fast, but I didn't buy a taco to go fast. I was coming from a 2005 bmw killing me with part costs. I bought a tacoma to not break. I get about 21 city and up to 25 highway.

I catch myself switching it to sport mode when I'm in a hurry cause man it's terrible. The fuel lasts me a week from my home to home remodeling projects. My year 2017 went threw a fuel injector clog that was fixed under warranty. And that was 2 years ago. No issues other than that. I will say this. Make sure you get 100k maintenance.

Chevy shake and all. 40k truck made of trash.. already getting rid of it soon. As well for some reason kbb is attacking GMC now..last month my truck was valued at 31k trade in. This month with a thousand more miles, they are valuing it at 28k lmao, are you kidding me? In this market? My 2016 sr5 long bed I paid 27000 for out the door. I wanted to get that truck in a 2018 now, I'd be paying 35000. That's called over hyped thievery.

      Ok so let me get this straight.. you won’t buy a car in Mexico, because your “friend” box and paper company couldn’t find workers; therefore it correlated with the way manufacturing autos in Mexico all of a sudden is a no for you? I am baffled with how ignorant that sounds. Toyota has been the big auto giant in terms of reliability since the day it was created, the workers manufacturing these cars in Mexico are held at high standards you can’t base how one company runs their business to another.

      @@johnappleseed9290 I live in a border state and the quality of all products that I have used from Mexico is bad. I have a refrigerator and a TV that do not line up. The produce, cookies and crackers are bad also. The poor are not educated. Mexico does not have a middle class. Hopefully, Toyota has culled the lazy workers like they did at the San Antonio truck plant. A coworker had at least six interviews. BTW, a friend has had Taco trucks for the last 25 years, and his new one is full of plastic and he said that it does not feel like a truck. A friend has a BMW, and it has been a money pit. Please be mindful of this and try not to insult the integrity of these employees and artisans who have dedicated such long hours toward the assembly of Toyota trucks and other items. Also US cars made in Mexico are higher quality than US ones using mostly Mexican parts. The US is done manufacturing things, especially US electronics suck (why nobody makes/designs electronics in the US even almost all the electronics in US cars are designed in South Korea/Japan)

    I've been considering one of these Tacoma's to replace my 20 year old ranger V6 3.0. Which runs the exact same since it was driven off the lot in 2001. I got lazy and stopped waxing it 5 years ago. Only major breakdown was the fuel pump and that was 2 years ago! Still has the original diff lube. These Tacoma's look like they will last for 30 years and give zero problems. The new ranger has too many electronics and the 2.3 turbo 4cyl seems like it would wear and give all sorts of problems.

    How are Toyota factories in Mexico inferior to USA? I would think Toyota would build their manufacturing plants to the same specs no matter where they're located.

    • @steve8803
      @steve8803 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @DevilDog53 Why would Toyota build their factory in Japan to a different/better spec than their other factories? If that's true, that's not a Mexico problem. That's a Toyota problem.

    • @steve8803
      @steve8803 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @DevilDog53 Prove it! These are assembled by machine, not hands. If the machines in a Mexico plant, aren't as good as the machines in a Japan plant, that's a Toyota problem! Even if what you say is true, that's STILL a Toyota problem. If they are so dedicated to excellence, why would they pawn off the work on somebody else to ruin their reputation?

    • @steve8803
      @steve8803 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @DevilDog53 Why would Toyota choose to have their product tainted by knowingly poor workmanship? They certainly do not give af about "excellence" if that's the case.

    • @steve8803
      @steve8803 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @DevilDog53 According to experts who analyze the reliability and quality of new cars, there is little to worry about if your car is made in Mexico.
      “Looking at the data, we can separate between vehicles that are made in Mexico and sold in the US and those not made in Mexico,“ said Renee Stephens, Vice President of Auto Quality at J.D. Power. “When I look at the two groups, there’s no big disparity in terms of reliability and quality.”

    • @steve8803
      @steve8803 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @DevilDog53 Based on imperical data compiled by J.D. Power, you are WRONG!!
      You are right that the Japanese are dedicated and hard working and committed to excellence, you are wrong that they would willingly/knowingly send production to people who are substandard and will taint their reputation. They simply would never do such a thing!

    I have a 2021 Toyota Tacoma with the V6 and I put a 7.5 Boss V-plow on it. I was very impressed at how well it did plowing. I traded a Ram 2500 Megacab for it so it is a lot smaller, but I was ok with that because plowing the driveways in my area with that Ram was like trying to maneuver an aircraft carrier! Besides, I didn’t need that much of a truck anymore. The only one to complain was my grandson who tell me on a regular basis he liked my Ram better. Oh well, you win some, you lose some! All that being said I absolutely love the Tacoma.

    I bought a 2019 Tacoma TRD Off Road and it was made in Baja Ensenada Mexico! It runs great but the dash pops and rattles horribly. I was also surprised it has rear drum brakes. No biggie I guess! It replaced a 2017 Frontier that was in a flood! The Tacoma is a so much better all around pickup! The turning radius on the Frontier was horrible. I couldn’t even turn out of the drive up bank without having to back up! No regrets on the Tacoma!
