PARANOIA and ANTODOTE are actually talking about his experiences with panic disorder, anxiety and depression... Daniel has been trough a lot even before becoming an idol, this last Years have been really rough for him, he went on a HIATUS due to bad mental state but luckily he is better now
He plays a big role in his art actually. He struggles with depression and anxiety and his music is kinda reminiscent of that. Paranoia is about sleep paralysis and anxiety I believe. I admire him so much...he's gone through a lot and now he is a CEO of his own company.
Paranoia was his expression of dealing with anxiety and depression himself. There is so much in the MV that creates the oppression and unnerving feeling he wanted to show. The extra arm that comes out his sleeve, the dark figure, the huge dark ominous floating entity that becomes his attacker, the cameras that appear on the wall that all watch him, the swirling picture, the drowning. There is so much but he said it was about the paranoia that would build the feeling of being watched all the time and his emotions almost becoming an entity but is all within himself. He has said things are much better for him now but he wanted to share this cause it’s something lost of people go through and needs more attention. Bravo to him cause he exposed his vulnerability and promoted a better attitude towards mental health in South Korea. Antidote was the follow up, where it was like seeking the counter acting thing to his other side to his situation and the struggles of pressure to succeed as well as his mental health. Music has been his comfort but also his trauma and his antidote is trying to balance the two because he can’t leave either completely without negative effects but can make choices so the MV and song has a brighter tone than it could have done, it’s hopeful. Paranoia was on the brink of either full submission to the fears or a form of being compromised by his inner demons but antidote was the hope for a path that could navigate a route through his fears and passion. It was paranoia that hooked me with him, while I knew of his other tracks and he had been in a group that was short term (which was silly cause they were great but it’s spawned like 4-5 soloists and 3-4 groups I love so…) I hadn’t been any more than oh that’s cool, until paranoia. The MV and song is just speaking volumes and I was struck musically, visually and personally by the song.
You had me at Kang Daniel..😍 A powerhouse of a man. Very difficult to put him in a category, because even "all-rounder " falls short. I'm sure we will continue to see great things in his future..
What's interesting about Daniel is his struggle. He who was originally just a trainee from an agency that was on the verge of bankruptcy but is now able to become a CEO.
Waiting for his development makes me very proud. Starting from a trainee with a low rank until finally managed to become champion 1. Then his agency tricked him but he managed to win the lawsuit and get off the blacklist of Korean industry. And now he is a successful CEO and artist at the same time.
Following this child was truly a choice I have never regretted 😭❤️

Paranoia is acutally the song that got me into him. I know that Paranoia and Antidote are about his depressione.
You ll see in the mv some cameras that at point at him representing people observing him all the time. In the past he was said that he is ugly and not worth to be an idol. In the end on his hand he has two tattoos, one with written Failure and one Ugly, those are the word that some people said to him and this represents that those really got into him and hurt him.
We see that he is mainly on the bed, representing insomnia and at the end the assailant as you said is just his negative thoughts that tried to fight and get over him.
In antidote as you noticed one of the tattoos disappears, that song is for his recovery partly did and of coyrse is a long process so he is still trying to get better.
Sorry for the bad and poor explanation, I am still kinda new to him and I don't want to give you wrong informations, watching and reading the lyrics again will help you a lot to understand more!

I’m so glad you have finally found him. Through his color series - cyan, magenta, and yellow albums - he has experimented so many things. I really respect him. Even though he faces some difficulties, he never gives up. He keeps improving himself as we can see from being a rapper and subvocal in Wanna One, he is now being everything, a vocalist, a rapper, a dancer, a model, an actor, a CEO and a good student (he still takes a degree from a university). I don’t know how one person can manage to do so many thing like this and he do it so well.
Nah cuz Kang Daniel is my biggest celebrity crush 💀 I still haven't recovered from Paranoia and I don't think I ever will.

Thanks for reacting to Daniel! He’s such an inspiration. He did something that not many people could do. He fought for his rights against a company that was backed up by a huge company. The company tried to smear his name in the media and had the industry block him from appearing on tv and other things. But he even overcame that and is doing so well that he now has other artists under his label who trust him enough to sign with him.
Btw in “antidote,” the tattoo in the beginning means “imperfect” or something along those lines.

Daniel is an phenomenon at the Kpop scene where almost everyday new idol groups are introduced just like a ready-to-wear merchandise. He sings his own story. I respect and love his music.
Finally a reaction from Rj to our Daniel. He's been through a lot to be who he's now, himself, fought for his own justice, and back on track. Daniel just super talented and a really special person. Daniel won't dissapoint you. From all his songs, my fave on is "Paranoia", a special song where he talked about his depression, like my respect & love to him just keep increasing. He deserves all the good things in this world. We, Danity will always be with him to protect & support.

Paranoia and Antidote talk about their own negative thoughts. In the first, he says that you can never escape from them while, in the second, he tries to get out of them with an "Antidote".
Kang Daniel is involved in the whole process of creating his albums and MVs, he is the CEO of his own company, Konnect.
He had a very bad time in his previous company, he even had to go on hiatus for a while to treat his mental health.

Thank you for your reaction ❤️ He established his own company when he was 23 (2019) which was really rare in South Korea. Because of his popularity in Korea (especially in 2017-2019, he could be seen or heard on TV almost every day), many haters keep attacking him, slandering his character, and creating a lot of rumours. In 2019 he had to stop activities to adjust his mental health, which is why he decided to release the song Paranoia. Antidote is about his hope to find a way to cure himself.
Daniel is super cute, sincere and talented. As his fan for 5 years, I think he is still growing and I really looking forward to his new albums. If you are interested you can check his dance practice, he used to be a B-boy before his debut, and his dance team are all great dancers and friends of his.

he is involved in his songwriting. paranoia (and the entire "yellow" ep, which antidote is in as well) are directly about his struggles. after wanna one disbanded, daniel's company tried to sneak in a slave contract essentially, which he filed a lawsuit about. he finally won and was able to start his own company instead! however, he has been thrown a lot of hate (the conglomerate he was filing against tried to stop him in many ways including nasty articles, along with many others trying to bring him down) and he developed anxiety and panic disorder, so he took a hiatus. this album is about his experiences during that time!!

He is the youngest CEO (in S. Korea) of his own record label, Konnect! He took dance lessons for like 7 years. He writes and produces his music. He was out of the limelight for a while. He suffered from depression and anxiety. People were cruel to him and said he was ugly. Paranoia and Antidote are about this time. He is AWESOME!!! He is so handsome and can dance his ass off! I have mad respect for him and all he went through to come out on top!!!

Yay! I recommended you (likely along with plenty of others) check out KD's Paranoia when you first started rjkpop -- so happy to see you're getting to it. Paranoia got me into KD's songs, and I admire how he rose from the scandal of Produce 101 and created his own company. Ultimately it’s his decision on the songs, concepts, outfits, choreo, etc EVERYTHING 😅. #Waves and #WhoUAre were from the same #MAGENTA album, that’s why they seem similar to you. #Paranoia and #Antidote are from #YELLOW album - very dark, deep & personal reflection of Daniel’s struggles with mental health. Daniel was the main lyricist for all 5 songs on YELLOW (most recent album). Hope you’ll react to more of his projects.

Fun Fact 3: Wanna One, especially Kang Daniel was literally everywhere in S.Korea from mid-2017 to end of 2018. Everybody & their Mommas knew about Daniel. His rise to fame was real quick; Daniel was the “IT” boy during W1 contracted time. (Daniel’s popularity in S.Korea is still very strong in present time)

Daniel after his debut worked on his color albums , Cyan, magenta , yellow . Cyan has a bright vibe for a start then magenta representing summer , Waves was the pre released song from that album released few days before he released the full album of magenta where Who U Are is the title song. in August 2020, then in february the next year , he made a comeback with paranoia a pre release from his album yellow which will be the last of his color album. the title track of the album. yellow talks about what he went thru when he fell into severe anxiety. All his songs in yellow was his sentiments. Daniel wrote the lyrics of all hsi songs in the yellow album. He is the CEO and spearhead the choosing of songs with his A & R team but his composers are from the team that worked with him since Cyan and Magenta . Daniel really choose his songs well and the result is always not the common kpop songs. He is a total performer with dancing as his background way back his teen years that he used to enter kpop world as a trainee , For now he is achieving a lot including being an MC in a Dancer survival show and now launch as an actor in Disney Plus Rookie Cops. in "paranoia"mv which is he wear the the shirt, it happend that he is sick, he can't breath and can't talk but in that mv we all know that he really do his best to perform amidst the illness that he suffers. best ceo and idol ever. wannabels is very proud of him.

Antidote is the sequel of Paranoia
kang daniel was the main center of the group named "wanna one" and also a ceo of his own company which is konnect entertainment.
So basically, he began solo and he made Konnect Entertainment. He has stars like CL, Champion and others that win awards in shows. His song Paranoia is written by him and its his whole idea since he suffered an extreme me depression, that almost tipped him off the right road. He sang about how the depression (the assassin/his own mind and thoughts) poison him and make him weak. Antidote is written after, where he actually is seeking for the right way to get out of the suffocating depression. In the last scene he finds it, where it's all white and sunny. Even the dancers are wearing white. His fans and his music help him get out of the dark period and since then, he makes the best music in the industry. For me, he is the best solo artist in kpop. Check out Touchin', 2U which is dedicated to his fans, Horizon and his last song Ready to ride. Thank you for the review!

I got to know Daniel through his collab with JAMIE. Looks like her rap caught your attention 🤭 She is my personal fav female Korean artist - sassy and deep at the same time. Hope you can check out her music - she is a fantastic vocalist! I would recommend "Numbers" and any of her recent releases.

I remember on the 1st evaluation as a class A trainee for the pd101 song he was like " am a rapper don't need to be a gd singer " or something along this line... funny how now he does it all as a solo n CEO of his own company in charge of every aspect of his art and he rocks at it !! Our kuyaniii, busan namja, center kang he is adorable and cool at the same time!!
