I loved the 69' Mustang for as long as I can remember. However when I first seen the 77' Vantage it was like a revelation. It's not only the year i was born but, to my eyes, it looks like a 69' Mustang was tailored just for me. It's the right size, subdued in all the right places with a fantastic interior. 😍
Two of my favourite Aston Martins. If I could have only one though, it’d be the ‘77. However I’d be more than happy with “just” the 5.3! British muscle cars at their best 😎
I've watched this film many many times on Instagram and Vimeo, and every time I am drooling 🤤 The 6.3 Virage made me fall in love with Aston Martin in 92, I was 16, and it never stopped. The Vantage is perhaps even more beautiful, and foremost the sound is absolutely INCREDIBLE ! What a chance to meet those two and to drive them, I'm jealous. Just driving one of them would make me happy for the rest of my life. 😍
Always loved the Virage to be honest. That was my fav aston when I was a kid. Loved the DB7 as well but the Virage is really 80s. Great shots, really enjoyed watching these two head to head, and also alone rolling. Great story telling and editing. Thanks for providing us this content. Love British sports cars.
I grew up in Southern California and saw more than one Vatages. They indeed had a remarkable mystic for a young car nut like myself! I have never seen a Virage on the road, but I'm sure I would have been impressed. Thank you for sharing!
@@MrPinkWhiteBlack We have to create it, which will take a little effort (more than just uploading a file) but it IS a great idea and we will do it in time.
Always went to Auto Becker in Düsseldorf when I was a kid and they had a black 6.3 Virage there for years. Always one of my favourites. Very interesting and well told video 👍
That is incredible. I grew up in Essen, right next to Düsseldorf and seeing a black Vantage at night (there can't be that many in that neighborhood) is exactly what ignited my passion for these cars to the point that I later owned one. I am writing about and describing this very situation in the article that was published with this film originally here: collectorscarworld.com/aston-martin-vantage-virage/ Have a read through it. And as I am thinking back now, I do remember that I lost sight of the car when it took the turn onto the highway that leads to Düsseldorf. Just amazing.
I LOVE both, I cannot say one more than the other. They are both ungodly sexy. I didn't know the 6.3 virage even existed till now. Tyvm for sharing. If forced lol to have only 1 it WB the Vantage but I can't say I like it more. They are both 11 out of 10.
Owner: So, which is better You: I don’t know, I guess I’d need to come back and try them again to be able to tell 2 years and 6 drives later Owner: So now can you tell me which is better? You: no, I’m sorry but I think I just need one more drive of them to tell you so I’ll be back next month
I would say no to 10 Virage’s, to have just one Vantage. Ever since the Car magazine article on 1984, where they compared a gorgeous Vantage with the Countach, Boxer and 911 Turbo, I have been hooked.
Me too. If I'm honest, that propelled me to buy my two V8's. I loved that magazine. Cropley, Mel, Georg, LJK et al. My first was an '86 Fuel Injection, then an 88 X pack, called "Arnold", named by my mother in law, after Schwarzenegger! Reality was they were glorious, sounded great, but only sound investments if you kept them in garage and drove a few miles per annum.
Yes, that is correct. This was, back in the days, Richard Williams' personal car and he was kind enough to let me drive it once (when he wanted to sell me on the 7L conversion for my '89 Vantage. 😂😊😎
Aston Martin is Royalty and seriously Expensive to Buy and Run so people settle for AMGs and 911s which are quicker than the Astons but lack the Aura an Aston brings😂
Not quite. Since when could an Aston handle like a 911, ever? Let alone any other Porsche. Astons are 2 tonne cars minimum, especially the classic models. I doubt many 911 owners cross shop with an Aston, and not for the reason you seem to think.
For me, the Aston Martin V8 is the coolest, most manly car ever
Agreed 100%

This video was superbly done. Great historical content, evaluations, soundtrack and editing. Wonderfully informative and objective.
What a kind comment and I do agree.
The older Vantage is, for me the perfect gentlemans horseless carriage. A sledgehammer in a velvet glove.

Love all of the background history on both cars and driving montage.
For me the 70’s car wins on looks.
Imagine seeing these two together on the road !!
My favorite is the 1988 X-Pack Vantage.
But I'd take a V550 anyday :)
How beautiful those Astons looked in this video.
Thank you. Much appreciate the comment.
I'd take the v8 Vantage , just for the looks......Having said that , the Virage V550 is a Looker as well. Great cars !

Same here!
Although nice cars, may God lead you to experience happiness beyond just driving one of these cars, every day!
OMG my dream pair. What a great, honest, precise and expert review ! Thanks ❤😊
Thank you so much for your comment. Obviously my dream pair as well. Great minds think alike...😊😊😊 Please share.
I was going to say the same: two of my absolutely favorite Astons ever, head to head. Thank you.
My favourite car since reading about it in Autocar/Motor magazines in 1977 !!
Oh my what a pair of stunners

I could listen to this chap talk about Astons all day
You are too kind. Thank you.
Nice documentary! Please do upload a video of just driving footage. We'd all love to see that!
Great idea!

3:18 goosebumps ihaaaaaaaaaa
Welcome back!
Thanks. Finally decide to use TH-cam after all. More to be uploaded.

Great information thanks for sharing 👌
These car were the English awswer to the american muscle car,the brute in a suit😊
7:15 there was a Lagonda S1 (already incredibly rare) with the 7.0 conversion?
Yes, that is correct. This was, back in the days, Richard Williams' personal car and he was kind enough to let me drive it once (when he wanted to sell me on the 7L conversion for my '89 Vantage. 😂😊😎
very informative video, thank you for sharing this information.
great video thank you for whole of it
Wow
I'm fighting my fist listening to these V8's
Very cool. Hope my Vanquish Volante has that level of mystique in the coming years
Just give it another decade or two! 😉😊
Bloody autocorrect - BITING MY FIST!
Goals. 🥰
That Taurus steering wheel 🙄….sacrilege
Holy cannoli - you have to have no pulse for these cars not to excite you
Dude sounds like Bruno
What a coincidance..
That Vantage is the greatest Mustang ever made.
Yeah they did copy the mustang, but hey who's complaining 😊

I quite like the regular Virage, but this 6.3 looks like an aftermarket tuner car and not in a good way. The boot spoiler is particularly bad.
What happened to his hair, is this a prank episode ?
