ARO Cellos: short articulations - speed consistency test

In this video I wanted to test the speed consistency of the various short articulations that come with Spitfire Audio's new sample library "Abbey Road Orchestra - Cellos". For this I wrote a short ostinato pattern that and let the library perform it at different points in the dynamic spectrum. There's no reverb or any other external processing going on, I just had to make everything significantly louder because even when you set the volume slider in the plugin to 400% the lower dynamics are barely audible. All of the library's settings are at their default position, which means you're hearing mix 1 with the tightness knob at 100%.

Hmm, unfortunate to hear the delayed spiccato bug made it's way into this library. SSS still suffers from this at forte+, especially the double basses. Only method I've found around it is using the manual RR key switches to avoid RR#1where it occurs the most, or using performance legato spiccatos which oddly do not suffer from the same problem as the individual spiccato patch. IDK if this will apply to ARO or not.

It is interesting how volume levels are so low on this library. Is that because it has more true layers? Or what?

In my experience and from what I've read online that's just a general Spitfire-thing. When I first opened the Cellos I felt like they were exceptionally quiet, but I haven't done any proper testing, so that's probably just a faulty first impression.
