- You are about to embark upon the Great Crusade, toward which we have striven these many months. The eyes of the world are upon you. The hopes and prayers of liberty-loving people everywhere march with you. In company with our brave Allies and brothers-in-arms on other Fronts, you will bring about the destruction of the German war machine, the elimination of Nazi tyranny over the oppressed peoples of Europe, and security for ourselves in a free world.
What unit/clan is this?
This is my unit, the Cadian XXth. Casual milsim, roleplay and all those weird ops that you never get to play in your normal milsim group.
What is this mod?
It was a wild combination of many mods, mostly IFA and FOW.
Are you SovietWomble?
I wish. Video definitely has inspiration from the likes of Soviet and Max0r, but I try to strike a nice line for telling a story, humorous edits and actual gameplay. For something like this, I don't feel the need to edit in every word said. Plus, I edited this in a day, so time constraints were another issue.

I talked to someone who landed in a cemetary in St. Marié-Glisé he said the same. I think the only one who were on target were the glider riders.

@@TheOdst219 The 505th PIR of the 82nd managed to land ~75% of their men within two miles of their drop zone but they fared so well comparatively because of previous experience. Almost every other regiment (and in particular the entire 101st) hadn't done a combat jump yet.
@@TheOdst219 Not ALL the Glider Riders: at least one of the 3 gliders that was to land at Pegasus Bridge landed waaay short. Also, they had the added problem of being knocked unconscious (more often than not) by the landing.
I mean lets get real though I'd rather be them than the poor bastard who got stuck on a church steeple in St. Marie-Glise.

@@TheMurbi At the time of WW2, there were no previsions under the Hague Convention or the Geneva Conventions regarding the Rules of War referring to the appropriate treatment of paratroopers, as paratroopers did not exist before 1929. As far as most officers were generally concerned, paratroopers were to be treated as a bailing airplane crew.

Also, for those of us who are history nerds (like myself): the C-47 that led the entire paradrop armada, "That's All Brother," is still with us and airworthy. she actually led the procession of C-47s across the Normandy Coast for the 75th anniversary. Her survival story is also kinda epic: she was sitting in a scrapyard/company lot in Wisconsin (the place converts C-47s/DC-3s into turboprop-powered aircraft--blegh--and had a scrapyard full of spares) and was scheduled to be cut up for parts. a member of the Confederate Air Force (technically the "Commemorative Air Force" These days, but I prefer their old name and thus still use it) saw her and looked up her serial number on a whim. when he saw which bird she was, it must've been like a record scratch moment for him. he basically lunged for the phone and shouted "STOP THE SCRAPPING! THATS THE BIRD THAT LEAD THE D-DAY DROPS!" into the line.
I didn't see her but I HEARD her when I lived in Dallas Texas: That's where she was getting restored. the roar of a Radial engine is distinct, very, VERY distinct. I heard one early one morning and thought nothing of it--figured it was the CAF boys out and about because there's about 5 of their squadrons in the Dallas area. within an hour my friend texted me saying That's All Brother had flown for the first time. If I'd have realized it was her, I'd have jumped in a car and followed that noise. She's like a literal phoenix, rising from the ashes of the scrapyard to lead the charge once more, just like she did on D-Day.
