I live in Earlswood these new builds are 15 feet from a main road, shared drive way one way in and one out what happens when you have guests, although well designed they went up really quick
If I'm spending that much, I would expect to have my own driveway entrance and not share it with my neighbour. I really don't like the way the grounds are shared. No thanks.
Very nice houses - very tasteful, excellent finishing but the only thing at this price point not acceptable personally is a single garage - should be double garage at this price point.
Lovely homes, prefer the second, more cosy and the neutral colour is lovely. Lovely presentation, we look forward to your new videos! We missed Summer on this though!
I am not sure of the presenter's height but he barely makes it through the doorways and the ceiling heights look like they are probably 8 feet. Most US new houses have at least a 10 foot ceiling height which makes even smaller rooms seem much more spacious. For the price, a two car garage would seem to be expected.
I personally prefer the smaller one. It's cosier, I prefer the layout, especially of the ground floor. The colour palette is also much nicer as opposed to house 1. And then there's also the price difference. House 1 does not have any attractive qualities that would interest me in buying the house.
This is difficult (sigh)... 😕 I want to choose one of both but... both homes are great. Ithink I'm going with the first option because the space and I'm still not quite sure because the second option has a great space too, even though the second one is less bigger then option one. In terms of design both homes are amazing and I really like the homes of that developer. But still I'm going with the first one.
So many commenters here saying this isn’t getting much for the price. I’m sitting here in Boston thinking, “if only you could get such a nice place for that price here…”
Overwhelming ! First, living here in Canada, these house are far far better built and generously equipped. I’m rather surprised that an “old” England can be this new and modern. But Congratulations 🥳 There sure are some flaws, if you will. Unless one buys both the houses, there isn’t much privacy between the two. I would expect ceilings to be a minimum of 10’. A single car garage takes this house back to 60 years, just as the side-by-side Fridge drags it to the 1980s. This is NOT a Fridge for a Big family. In a relatively small town, this does come across as overly priced by 300-400K. Don’t touch that sofa because I would buy it as it is ! Do you take Amex? Thank you for beautifully showcasing it~ 4⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I like the entrance of the second one,and the kitchen is nicer in my opinion … I would buy the second one and save some money for my Maldives holiday 😊
0:07 So British! Use all space available to make a profit! It just greedy! It's like putting bed, kitchen appliances, toilet and shower in one room, calling it studio flat! 😂 Nice lot but f#cked up with 2 houses (well designed, especially kitchen, but in such a boring two-color theme)... 👏👏👏
There are so many things wrong with this property shared driveway low ceilings, the garage should be at least 3 car whats going on with the plastered bathroom ceilings just ripe to get dampness and theres no fence weres the slats and how close this property is too the other house for £1.45m i would expect a house on its own weres your garden privacy
I think most international visitors have heard of Birmingham these days and stating it is just outside Brum should be the best location indicator for most 👍🏼
I would opt for the second home and save the money. Both are incredible properties... I can always become friends with the neighbour if I wanted to hang out at the bigger one 😊
Thanks very much for another new build and fab video. I always use Matt and Tom's height to measure these buildings. Today's home should have been built with an additional 2 feet in height. Everything else is quite solid. Thanks everyone. 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Only seconds in and already thinking I’d rather pay more and have the entire plot of both houses and an increase in footage. If I was the developer I’m sure I would have done this though
Can you share details of the developers, you mentioned HDD Developers, but I cannot find them on the net. I'm about to embark on a project to build a 500sqm project in Hertfordshire, any help would be great.
The interior looks are a little dated (are we still using grey, studs and mirrored furniture?) and seems a bit pricey for Solihull (do people want to live there?) but they are good looking houses.
You are going to get on well with your neighbours, I prefer the 1st home just because of the design really but both are very nice 👍🏼 great video thanks for sharing 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Very nice homes the pair I like the paneling and colours used as well as art deco styles. The first home that freezer is something else. Interesting door/drawer pulls as well. I would have rathered have a fireplace in the kitchen though sitting area instead of the television. I think I remember those other homes. The fence out the back is missing some wood I think I would like privacy from neighbours as some have pets not sure I want to share my garden with them. Nice to see you Matt interesting enough I follow another freelance website designer who has his own renovation channel Life of Ryan from France. The decor of both homes is interesting but would have left out the giraffes but well designed homes no less.
Lovely houses. The pricing is crazy, but those are both wonderful examples of new British design. I would prefer crittal doors downstairs instead of the thick white framed ones. Also preferred the larger staircase in Mulberry. This level of design should be the standard of homes across the board, if only. Hopefully the quality matches the aesthetic and they settle well in the first 10 years.
Interior decoration and lighting is very old fashioned. And for that money i'd want a double car garage minimum, my own gated driveway entrance and a pool. 2nd House fridge door bang wasn't thought through
The price is more indicative of the features and gadgets the houses come with if that’s what you’re going for, but they are very aesthetically pleasing and homely
From the way this is priced i can tell we are headed to a housing bust. These houses are at most worth £350-500k, the fact they are worth more than a £1 million is diabolically outrageous
I would personally prefer the first house, the open floor concept in that home seem more spacious and luxurious, and office space is crucial and the principal bedroom is much larger than the second home, the decor was tastefully done and I do prefer the blue in the kitchen
I drive past these houses every day. Their location isn’t great, M42 right by them, fast road access. Wouldn’t think they are worth over £800K so price is inflated. Road noise outside would be a problem
For a 1.5M+, I wouldn't expect to share a driveway access or only have a small one car garage. In the first house, I also would have expected more storage in the kitchen. I've seen home tours that are half the price of these with more kitchen storage. Honestly I was expecting that the adjacent utility room would have more storage to supplement the kitchen, but it too was very small. I really liked the wardrobe area in bedroom 3. That was a clever space. The family bathroom was also nice. I found it odd that the principal suite didn't have any built-in wardrobes. Yes the room is large, but you still have to put in your wardrobes. That was a bit deceiving. For house 2, I have the same disappointment with the kitchen storage. I like bedroom 2 with its higher ceiling and abundant integrated storage. For the principal suite, I liked the high ceiling again but I also think that the wardrobes aren't as elegantly integrated. They look really clumsy. Save for the few higher ceiling rooms, most of the doors and ceilings feel low, or is Matt just extra, extra tall? Lastly, the way the back garden is separated feels cheap. For that price, I'd hope to see a taller brick wall separating the two sides.
Would have liked to see floor plan. pricing seems a bit steep, might be area and upgrades and garden is nice size. Nice black n white theme in the house, modern sleek
I do prefer the more country look of the £1.5 home. The biggest issue is a single garage. At the price point and being aimed at a family, a double or triple garage are the minimal requirement.
I'll never understand why these cardboard cutout houses are so expensive when they are not even built with bricks, only have a single garage and very little driveway space for such big houses, and to finish it off, the garden is too small for the size of the house and the house is way too close to the next one. For the amount of money, you should get more land than that.
Great tour Matt and well built homes, but not sure they're worth the £1.5m mark, in terms of decor personally chrome and mirrored furniture is very dated! If i had to pick i'd go for the 1st house.
I'm sorry, but both homes seem to be screaming luxury rental properties. Perhaps it was the interior color choices that made it hard to warm up to either home. The first home had such stark color choices: black doors and trim everywhere and in practically every room. It was giving masculine and bachelor pad. The whole time the tour guide was talking, all I could think of was how this home reminded me of a luxury apartment. All that was missing was the height. The second home did try to give a more understated presence from its color choices alone. Similar houses can give off immediate different vibes from color alone! While this one too gave a rental feel, one could start to imagine introducing pops of color here because they wouldn't have to fight against such bold backgrounds. However, overall, one can tell these homes where done by the same design team. Perhaps the developer should sell both homes together and use one as the guest house!!
Nearly 1.5 near Birmingham ha ha the builder is taking the piss, small houses, not even a double garage, I’m an estate agent, dealing in higher end properties in stock, ingatestone, they are not in the leave of 1m plus, 850/875 come on the market is on its arse
One garage bay in a house that is over 1.4M GBP is just wrong. The bay doesn't even look big enough for the type of vehicle a buyer with the kind of money to buy this thing might want.
Highly inflated. Semi detached, sharing of entrance gate with a neighbour, only four bedrooms. And its still Birmingham postcode, 😅. Next door in Coventry in a highly desirable area of Memorial Park along Warwick road this much money will buy you a mansion, with swimming pool, detached, your own road from the main road leading to your mansion and near to all the best towns of Royal Leamington Spa, Warwick, Kenilworth and Stratford upon Avon. Also nearer to London to commute than Solihull which is further north. Only thing positive is Solihull is extremely desirable area and one of the only top 10 most expensive areas outside of London and will have HS2 station built in the town which will make the prices go crazy even more as all the CEO’s working in London will live in Solihull as it will be within an hour to London. All experts have agreed that Solihull will have unprecedented economic growth with HS2 station built in there. But note me personally its highly inflated area, there are much more beautiful areas in Warwickshire which is next door with lots of land and in my opinion posher than Solihull.
I prefer symmetry of front of first house and it's the end of the cul de sac so more privacy, whereas you have to pass the second house to get to first house. But I prefer the wrap around stairs in second and the bedrooms. There should be verandas at the back and the garden of first is overshadowed by leylandii trees. There's no hedge or dividing wall between the two for privacy, so youre sharing a driveway and backgarden. It s a big ask for 1.5 million. The colour scheme is awful. Out go the boring greys blacks whites everywhere and in comes colour, so there's an additional spend.
Feel like a big family should buy both of the houses because of how close they are together.
I live in Earlswood these new builds are 15 feet from a main road, shared drive way one way in and one out what happens when you have guests, although well designed they went up really quick
Yes agree shared driveway/ entrance on a home at that price must be a difficult sell.
For sure! Should of had a detached garage with 3 car capacity at that price for me
I like the smaller home of the two. Wall and paint colors make the home seem more spacious, even though it is smaller.
30 seconds in and I can tell you neither of these is worth more than 850k.
House that size on park avenue is around mill to mill 250. This is brand new. You are not gonna get it for 850k.
The ceiling is so low that the presenter won't be able to live in this house comfortably
100%
Factually speaking, they are worth what someone is willing to pay for it. LOL
Thats true fr @@venom5809
Lovely homes, prefer the second, more cosy and the neutral colour is lovely. Lovely presentation, we look forward to your new videos! We missed Summer on this though!
This day and age, any new build should have solar panels by default.
Absolutely 👍
Not cost effective
neither house is worth 1 million, 800k seems like a fair price
I am not sure of the presenter's height but he barely makes it through the doorways and the ceiling heights look like they are probably 8 feet. Most US new houses have at least a 10 foot ceiling height which makes even smaller rooms seem much more spacious. For the price, a two car garage would seem to be expected.
Negative for me is the materials are the same in both homes, as well as the low ground floor ceilings.
Pick the smaller home, and use the cost savings to add a detached two car garage/workspace. One car garage is not enough.
Practical thinking but depends on circumstances. My house is bigger than both but I don't drive so the extra garage space wasted on me.
I personally prefer the smaller one. It's cosier, I prefer the layout, especially of the ground floor. The colour palette is also much nicer as opposed to house 1.
And then there's also the price difference. House 1 does not have any attractive qualities that would interest me in buying the house.

Matt always giving amazing tours! Lovely home!
Thank you!
Liked the second home you toured. Very nice
I prefer the cheaper of the two houses. I'm not keen on the black fancy bits in House 1 - the black would show the dust. lol
Overwhelming !
First, living here in Canada, these house are far far better built and generously equipped. I’m rather surprised that an “old” England can be this new and modern. But Congratulations 🥳

You don't get much for your money these days.
I like it when one looks from the outside you can't imagine the inside being so modern
It's a wonderful house
I like the entrance of the second one,and the kitchen is nicer in my opinion … I would buy the second one and save some money for my Maldives holiday 😊
How tall is Matt? The ceiling looks very low
The UK is world-famous for its gloomy and wet weather; I would think the garage space would be more generous, or at least an additional pergola.
Maaannn, you don’t hold back do you..😂😂😂But you’re right👍
Totally agree on the colors
Nice from the outside, the interiors though look like they have been purchased as a job lot from The Range and Homesense
I think most international visitors have heard of Birmingham these days and stating it is just outside Brum should be the best location indicator for most 👍🏼
but if you say the word Birmingham you automatically think of third world slum so that would reduce the price tag by a considerable amount
Parts of Solihull look third world slum. He should really be saying this is earlswood, knowle, dorridge, lapworth etc.
@@jamietherooster😅😅😅
you're overestimating people.
I would opt for the second home and save the money. Both are incredible properties... I can always become friends with the neighbour if I wanted to hang out at the bigger one 😊

love the chestnuts house because I love the design ❤

Great video, if I could it would be the Mulberry as my choice, the extra study /office is a must.
I’ve watched you guys from the beginning and I find it so strange that you tour so many houses in the area I live in! 😄
You are going to get on well with your neighbours, I prefer the 1st home just because of the design really but both are very nice 👍🏼 great video thanks for sharing 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Beautiful! Love the moldings and the attention to detail. Very cool option to include the furniture.
For that money, I would expect attention to detail.

Take the cheaper one so you can afford the under floor heating costs 😅
Underfloor heating isn't more expensive, heat pump source of power generally in new builds
Wardrobes are amazing 👏
The price is more indicative of the features and gadgets the houses come with if that’s what you’re going for, but they are very aesthetically pleasing and homely
Matt and Summer,,,,,,you guys are too cute. Beautiful couple and of course you are brilliant at what you do, so humble.💞😀
Or obtain both for family to have there own privacy but still be a few feet away 😊❤❤
I thought the colour setting had failed on my iPad but no, it really was black and white . I prefer my modest 3 bed 1930s semi in Yorkshire.
From the way this is priced i can tell we are headed to a housing bust. These houses are at most worth £350-500k, the fact they are worth more than a £1 million is diabolically outrageous

Shoehorn 2 houses into where 1 should be🤦
The home with the lesser footprint is my pick. The one car i will pick is a Porsche and a Range rover Parked outside
Also no heated flooring for the price tag
Styled well, but those ceilings seem low...
The second house with lighter colors is great and the price is better.
Gorgeous house well styled ✔️
Fantastic houses, I prefer the second house as the kitchen could be made bigger into a lovely kitchen dining room.
6:15 OMG! How tall are you? Literally barely fit in door frame 🙄
Beautiful homes, very nicely finished.
At least most of the en-suites have a window.
Would have liked to see floor plan. pricing seems a bit steep, might be area and upgrades and garden is nice size. Nice black n white theme in the house, modern sleek
These house are estate design houses! I’d expect more for over a million!!
nice house i love the combination of black and white
I do prefer the more country look of the £1.5 home. The biggest issue is a single garage. At the price point and being aimed at a family, a double or triple garage are the minimal requirement.
Can one have both & attach them to make a super, super home just asking 😊❤❤
The 2nd house cause of the colour theme & that open kitchen area plus to save some…
This reminds me of the 3.5 million renovated home that u guys show not to long ago with the private drive. And u showed the 2 houses side by side
Some people have more money than sense.
excellent presentation as always, looking forward for more...
Stunning home wish I could buy it x

Am I the only one that hates open plan kitchens with a living space?
Why would you have a post and rail fence in the rear garden, hardly private…
if they gate breaks whose responsibility is it to
Thanks 👍
Lovely homes
Me gusta la primera casa pero con los materiales y decoración de la segunda.
I'd expect high ceilings and more for 1 point 5
Million
Love the second one, beautiful
from the outside I prefer the smaller house however from the inside I prefer the black-and-white look and the interior on the bigger house.
Whats up with the brickwork, patches of different colour bricks
For the price of the bigger house I’d have thought it would at least have come with a double garage
Nerve to say “prestigious area” 🤣🤣
Solihull is not a prestigious area hahaha
Nearly 1.5 near Birmingham ha ha the builder is taking the piss, small houses, not even a double garage, I’m an estate agent, dealing in higher end properties in stock, ingatestone, they are not in the leave of 1m plus, 850/875 come on the market is on its arse

….is there a downstairs bathroom/WC?
Also - Are the homes sold fully furnished?
Can anyone name the two sofas in the bigger house in the front guest lounge?
Imagine how long it would take to completely clean every room
For a 1.5 million house in Birmingham I'd want an indoor pool with sauna and steam room!
