Weezing work well with paradox pokemon in doubles since paradox kinda ignore neutralizing gas (if the paradox use item booster) Also perfect to counter ability based gimmick
Slaking is still too big a liability in double battles. Because almost everything runs protect, you are incredibly abusable should Weezing go down. I also think Regigigas stats are slightly better distributed.
Weezing is proof that gamefreak should stop restricting pokemon with levitate into only having levitate, like it's so lame guys stop it already give my man Vikavolt battery and speed boost it'd be great
exactly! weezing makes great use of levitate, but its other ability is also fantastic. when mons have only levitate (or god forbid pressure don't get me started), it's really frustrating because there could've been so much more.

Personally I would have liked levitate to become a trait inherent to every levitating or flying mon and for the peeps with levitate to get a different ability, but god forbid GF does anything mildly off formula

I crushed the BDSP Battle Tower with Weezing + Regigigas and it’s so fun. I need to dust off my Slaking team in SV and swap in Regi now that he’s back. I am a little sad they didn’t give it to Garbador because it was a major meta threat in the TCG because it turned off abilities. But I’m happy for any Gen 1 Pokemon still finding a role after power creep.
He also has a great niche in OU :D While not the strongest thing (I blame the lack of reliable recovery) It can do some things which a lot of pokemon are unable One thing in particular is defog against gholdengo teams, and another is to toxic garg, another is to completely blanks huge power pokemon like azumarill and another and probably most niche one, its able to come in on regenerator users as your opponent tries to switch them out to completely stop the regen (this is most consistent against alomomola since, with toxic and pain split, it can just sit on it instead of having to predict a switch
The best placement for weezing in Gen 9 was Alex Underhill getting 9th at Sacramento regionals before the patch changed the interactions. Bubbled on res. The stream matches with weezing in that tournament were really fun. Kyle Livinghouse did pretty well with Weezing and Wolfe won a big grass roots tournament with a really similar team.
i love weezing in adv ou. wisp sludge bomb pain split is nice, but haze on top of that shuts down cmpass and sdpass celebi nonsense, and helps it handle heracross reliably. it's also a little less pursuit weak than gengar and it's pretty decent into ddmence and ddgyara (preferably non taunt variants) without having to give up almost its entire HP to do so (like gengar does). defensive weezing is awesome but i dont think ive really converted anyone yet (although roro seems to think its ok when he has used it)... and im not really playing any more so i guess its more defensive sets will sit forgotten for years or longer until someone else realises just how useful it actually can be. edit - more thoughts: pain split is a rly high skill ceiling move, ive had a game or two where ive had weezing go down as low at 7% and then be able to recover enough HP on it later on with pain split that it suddenly becomes an obnoxious threat for my opponent again. it also just completely shits on toxic blissey, which is often a team's wisp absorber, letting it spread wisp on stuff that's more useful in that matchup. and for good measure sludge bomb does hit wisp immunes consistently pretty hard and that 30% poison chance isn't all that antisynergistic with wisp because it can poison those burn immunes. poison + fire is an immensely good combo (sludge + wisp or toxic + flamethrower on other pokemon in different circumstances), very few pokemon eat up that kind of combo at all well. basically its a rly solid defensive tool with more of an ability to take hits than gengar while still providing the status spreading / stallbreaking benefits that a floaty burny poison type can do. and its awesome into medicham and bp celebis. and like offensive variants are cool too in their own way for sure but i am the expert on the defensive variant much as i am with umbreon lol

Levitate is an excellent ability to share with the team, ground and hazard immunity is useful on any team. Weezing's levitate is especially useful on defensive teams due to their abundance of steel types and tera steel users. However weezing has sharp competition as a levitate donor in the form of origin giratina. It's superior bulk and similar support move pool sadly renders levitate weezing near pointless. This is where galarian weezing's 3rd ability comes into play, being misty surge. Misty surge sets up the misty terrain field condition, all grounded pokemon from being statused, teams that want to prevent residual damage, or just avoid status in general can make great use of galarian weezing's supportive move set. Weezing's myriad of useful supporting moves contains (but is not limited to) wil-o-wisp, pain split, taunt, toxic spikes, defog , haze and destiny bond.

im an adv ou player and it's not quite accurate to say it's outclassed by gengar. gengar is also a poison type levitate user with will o wisp, but the two perform completely different roles. gengar is mainly used for its ghost type to block rapid spin on spikes teams, levitate is great and you have lots of good tools like powerful special attacks, wisp and explosion, but the poison type is actually a liability since you get nuked by psychic. this is very different from weezing who loves its mono poison type, it's a very solid defensive wall that is almost exclusive to defensive superman teams (for the uninitiated superman is when you stack 4-6 levitate/flying mons to ignore spikes). it can also be used on more basic teams since fighting types tend to destroy the standard defensive cores, but there's never a debate between gengar or weezing they're completely different pokemon
I remember another creator (don't remember who) once mentioning that they recorded a video under a blanket as a workaround for not having access to a good room to record in. They were moving or something, I think. So that's an option if you want to mitigate the echo in the future, if you find yourself without access to your usual recording setup.
I love Weezing so much but unfortunately it haunts my nightmares like a sleep paralysis demon in the shape of a tumor. Galarian Weezing vs Lurantis might be the most one-sided matchup you could reasonably encounter in a game Unless you have Stellar Tera Blast, it resists every move Lurantis would ever consider running, Bug and Fighting both being double resists. It deletes it’s only good trait in Contrary, and even if you run the other usual Tera in Fighting, between Sludge Bomb and Dazzling Gleam you’re cooked regardless 💀 HOWEVER it has a sick history and a silly hat so like, that’s the goat 💯

I don't think speed boost is able to help Vikavolt. It would have to stay on the field for a lot of turns to even be decent...

Neutralizing gas has some pretty cool techs like turning on and off ogerpons abilities to get multiple boosts. Really cool mon.

Weezing is one of the most iconic mons for sure it was great in 5 gens of NU straight-up (in gen 8 it was amazing in NU)
