The injury part didn’t age well
Insane seeing the levels between the double A boys to triple A boys to then Bart in terms of how they frame and just how they look receiving pitches. Like everyone always says, "there's levels to this sh*t".

Love that high praise that Craig gave Patrick Bailey. Patrick's like "Camera's on, Kap's here" "Let me block one" If this is how we see him? Lord knows how he and Bart will do together. Love him already. I might be a O's fan but i respect all teams.

Can anyone explain why they’re on one knee as opposed to squatting ? Genuinely have no idea.
Helps with receiving and I'm sure other benefits. Kap recently said in an interview he had all the catchers try it and work on blocking in that stance.

It’s for framing. The way you turn the glove to keep it as close to the zone as possible to get those borderline strikes/balls.

Too bad that all this work will become irrelevant once robot umpires are introduced. Takes away an under appreciated and underrated element of defense.
The worst part is that Bart is a minor league catcher in the bigs. He simply does not have the skills to be in the show yet.

There was a thing called the lockout
So with this new catching style philosophy with one leg down, are they going to adjust the catchers gear to protect the right upper thigh?
So probably not as that would create an inconvenience if they were to work with no knees on the ground. Personally I use this position with no runners on and there’s no need for padding as the bend of your knee causes strain in that muscle on the front of your thigh which makes it hardly painful. It feels like getting hit with a ball half the speed as it does hit you at so I highly doubt they’ll change it.
