    What a detailed explanation, thank you. I have been searching for videos trying to figure out what's wrong with my plant, and yours was exactly what I needed. Showing the roots was very helpful as well.

    My Haworthias are grown inside but they cannot tolerate the grow lights. They will turn a dark color if they get too much direct light. I keep the about 6 feet from the window and they seem to be happy with that. Same with the various types of Aloe plant. They do not want direct sunlight or LED light. They are nice to have as an inside plant if you have a window that gets good light for a few hours today. You just do not want them too close to that window.

    One thing i want to know if i use bottom watering for 5inch pot. Then how much time it takes to make moist soil.

    • @LushGardener
      @LushGardener  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      it depends plastic pot faster ….earthen pot will take more time also if there is lot of gravel at the bottom then more time best what you can do is use more shallow pot fill with water and increase the level of water….if the level of water is more the pot will get wet faster

    • @LushGardener
      @LushGardener  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      no white regular light wont work they will start to stretch.... you need grow light they are meant specifically for plants

  • @Abcd-jz4gp
    @Abcd-jz4gp หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    do they also "collapse" when dry? After watering, do they expand again ?

    • @LushGardener
      @LushGardener  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      unlike other succulents..because these are kept in indirect bright light ...they wont get dry rot but yes they will turn brown ,dry and crisp ...but they are chances it will revive once watered.
      and yes they will plump up once watered ..incase they dont plump up after 48-72 hrs of watering that means the roots are damaged

    My succulents are not growing. Which fertilizer would you recommend for them?

    • @LushGardener
      @LushGardener  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      mam I don’t use any fertiliser…but incase you want to use you go for liquid fertiliser seaweed…but ensure the succulent is in its growing for example right now only Echeveria is in its growing period
      most important thing is the right type of soil mix ….fertiliser actually don’t matter much how ever I will put the link down of seaweed fertiliser…. use less than 1/4 diluted in 1 liter of water give only once a month in growing season

    Lush Gardener - mine looks like the dark one on the right. Can it also be because of lack of water? I am so afraid of watering my cacti/succulents that I’ve killed them by both over AND underwatering them. The leaves are spread out but the individual leaf is bending into itself. 🌸

    • @LushGardener
      @LushGardener  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      don’t be scared of watering succulents don’t die by watering…the main reason they rot is when there is prolonged moisture in the soil ..for example you might water them let’s say once in 20 days but you soil doesn’t dry and retains moisture for over 5-6 days then the succulent will rot even though you water less but the soil is retaining moisture for longer …if the leaves starts to bend inwards and you see wrinkles on the lower leaves water then …do a complete watering until the water passes through the drain hole

      @@LushGardener(I just wrote a long note to you but YT deleted it by mistake, so I’ll rewrite what ever I can remember)
      - Thank you for your quick response
      -after your video, I immediately removed my haworthia away from the sun and placed it in a pot of water. Within 12 hours the “leaves” began to unfurl and it’s getting greener and greener each day. Whew!!!
      As I said, I LOVE succulents but have no luck with them. I started using a water meter (metal stick) and I thought all was well. Then a cactus died from be overwatered - I saw it rotting away in front of me although the soil was bone dry! I did an autopsy on it. Yes, the soil was totally dry (where I used the meter). BUT DIRECTLY under the cactus (away from the meter) was sort of moist. In other words, I can’t win!
      Right now I have a living cactus about 8 years old but I have no clue as to why it hasn’t died after all this time!
      I’m not a succulent “whisperer” like you.
      ONE MORE THING: on a side note, your green circular symbol is perfect. It stands out among all my other subscriptions (politics, royalty, etc). I scan quickly for green and there it is. So don’t change it! 😊
      SORRY for the long note but thank you for producing this video!

      @@LushGardenerHi LD! With your help, my haworthia and a pup that fell off are thriving. Now, with confidence, I have purchased a Jensen aloe, a hardy aloe, a gasteria (“little worty”). They’re small (2.5” pots). Now I’m afraid I have a false sense of confidence as I have been so excited in the past and as a result killed them (over/under watering). My question is IN GENERAL, DO SUCCULENTS (like these type) REQUIRE LESS LIGHT THAN CACTI? I have a ferocactus (at least 8 years) with EXTREME etiolation due to lack of light. I think the answer is yes. Thank you in advance. 🌸
