mostly south african and african will appreciate this dish.
Why is that?
Spot on
O get ready for a ride awakening when talking foodd
Nope tripe and pap are consumed across the globe and some really put their foot in it. Not taking anything from anyone. Nobody owns gastronomy monopoly so get ready for a rude awakening when talking foods
@@blanketkombers5062 He said mostly South African and African, he did not say only South African and African. Read properly before you comment.
First time I've witnessed mogodu prepared with so many ingredients, not to say it's a bad thing. I'd love to give this recipe a try......thanks for sharing
You are welcome. 🤗😁 It's good to try new recipes. What it does, is that. Then you know for sure if you like it or not. When I try new recipes, sometimes I like it and sometimes I just go back to my initial recipe. 😁💛
It's part of exploring flavours.
Happy cooking. 👍

Yummy 😋 my favorite
Thank you Chengetai, it's one of my fave too! 😁💕
Well seasoned and cook...looks irresistible..yummy
Thank you Cece 😁
For pro-bono sake let's eat first for health reasons then we can do the mess we like doing. Not to take anything here but herbs do better than processed seasonings and I bat you add them after cooking so vitamins are not washed up to n what we call the ocean in gastronomy. Remember we eat to stay healthy not to pack our guts with trash. Buying healthy foods don't mean you eat healthy, the key or rather the magic to use correct genre since we talking gastronomy is preparations
By this time next week I'll be home by the grace of God eating these yummy ❤
Enjoy it when you get home. Home cooked meals are the best. Especially cooked by loved ones.

Hi Esther, thank you. 😊 It was chicken stock. You can use any chicken stock that you have at home.
I like the name of this channel.....Panana TV!
😁Thanks.
Mmmmm wow! Gonna try it....thanks for sharing with us
Hello Veronica, It's My pleasure 😊 Enjoy!
🎉🎉🎉
It’s nice to see and learn how meals are cooked in other cultures. In Nigeria we peel the ‘black’ bit off the skin before cooking. Actually I didn’t even know the black coating is edible. This looks good though and I might try it and see. 👍
Hi Solz, I'm very happy to hear that.
That's where the real taste is
Considering the part of the cow or animal the tripe is coming from,it is better to peel the back.
OMG, what a coincidence that I saw this comment!! For the first time, I bought tripe from a Nigerian store last weekend, just finished washing it before I came on youtube to search for Tripe recipe. But I was wondering why the tripe is light brown color and not black like in my country, Zambia!!
@@Angel.Kariba In some countries, especially the US, tripe is bleached white. If you want to buy tripe in its natural colours, you want to go an Asian supermarket, where they sell it unbleached
🤤
We eat tripe also in East Africa, but we mostly let it deep fry in oil before adding the onions and other ingredients
Hi Cee, that sounds interesting 🤔. Definitely something to try. Thank you for sharing.
Am East African, never seen people deep fry utumbo! Mostly it boile firsh before cooking in any style..Damn utumbo is tough for deedfriyn
We do in kenya at least ive seewn it boiled firat then fried in oil
❤❤❤🙏
💛💛💛🙏🤗
Yummy in Namibia we call it matangara🤤🇳🇦
Nice. It's really yum indeed 😋🤤
Mmmm😋😋😋 this looks delicious.
Thanks Hun. 😁💛
I used to call this carpet meat as a kid. From what I can remember it was pretty tasty
Lol, why carpet meat? 😂 I'm curious.
@@PananaTV I dono ,I guess it reminded me of a shaggy carpet or rug😄
wt a Dumpling or Steam Bread....oh my my my
🙏😁
Wow in Rwanda we call it amara or utumbo and i like it when it's grilled
Nice, I've never tried it fried. I need to try that. Sounds yum. 🤤
Utumbo, matumbo, etc is the same word, the root is -tumbo, the prefix "u" or "ma" is regional or geographical inflection of our beautiful Bantu language.
Here in Kenya we called it Matumbo.
Oh wow, in zimbabwe in shona the intestines are called matumbu. Then tripe we call them maghuru
I've found Swahili and shona have some common similarities
In xhosa south africa we call it ulusu or amathubu our languages dont have much differences
@@ruesamz It is one Bantu language. You can go from The middle of Cameroun to Cape Town, and see that our language is one. I am always surprised at how ignorant people are of this fact.
@@lavisaxipula8349 Because it is one Bantu language. Xhosa is not fundamentally different from LuGanda in (B)Uganda, or KiKongo. We are one big Bantu language group.
Soups Kanja is one rated African cuisine you don't want to miss trust me when I say this
Thank you they even show Soupa Kanja on international networks, they may struggle to pronounce it like I misspelled it above and it has various names across Africa and the Caribbean but it's essentially the same. Let's expose these African cuisines because even myself still want to learn more of African cuisines than depending on foreign networks to teach me about African cuisines.
Cool bro
In a certain parts of the Philippines they also cook this...they use it as soup with bile and other organs...
Interesting. Thanks for sharing. 💛
Yum 😋
Great recipe, thank you. The vinegar, would you kindly explain what it serves .?
Hi, thank you. It was for cleaning purposes. To remove any stubborn dirt.
Forget French and Italian cuisine, this is where it's at, home made tripe. I can eat this every day as a staple diet. I love me some tripe. Just saying.
It's one of those dishes that are just damn satisfying. 😁😍
@@PananaTV I love to enjoy it with pap.
Me too. 👍😁
Add some coconut milk delicious with ugali! Greetings from Dar Es Salaam!
Hi Oliver, oh wow! Interesting 🤔 I will try that next time. I can imagine the taste of coconut milk in my mind. Thanks for the Tip. 😁👌😋
In east Africa we call them Matumbo!
sister if you put stock avoid the salt
Prefer it with intestines....boil them together until cooked ...cut them nicely with scissors for that ..add salt and pepper..serve with pap❤
Yep, that's how we sometimes ate it when I was growing up. Very lovely.
We even had a special scissors ✂️ for it. I'm going to make it like that next time. 💛👍
The best food in the world . My mother use to make a mutton (sheep) moghudu that was to die for .
Hi Johan, I agree with you. the best indeed. I made sheep Tripe this past weekend. absolutely delicious 😋🤤.
thank you for this recipe, i am def going to try it. Just one clarification. Did you use both beef and chicken stock or only chicken, The jug full of stock in the boiling process was chicken stock, and later you added a chicken cube to the pot. Can i make the same recipe with only beef stock?
Hello, thank you. I used chicken stock. 😋🤤😍
Tripe can be clean with hot water pls
In shona we call it matumbu
Yey I tried it tonight 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾the best 👌
So happy to hear that. Enjoy beautiful 😁💛💛💛
Wow yummy it like but it alot of work to clean them whops
Thank you 😊
Ayi it's Nobuntu hour straight 😂❤
Mmm yummy 😋 just a bit too many ingredients. After boiling, using another pot to fry the onions and everything else releases depths of flavor and browns the stew really well
Thank you Siyanda. 🌸
I agree with you, but I have Liberian food in my fridge, made for me by a friend, that I fail to eat because there are simply too many ingredients in it. It is the same way with most Indian food. This does not stop Liberians or Indians from enjoying their food, because they have acquired its taste from youth. On the other hand, when I eat Mexican food, I find it to be very basic, with its main ingredients being salt. However, people who love it consider it to be fantastic.
Wow, in Congo 🇨🇩 we eat it too😅😅
We call it ,in lingala language, MABUMU, in Kiswahili, Matumbo
💛💛💛 that's awesome..Most people in a lot of countries enjoy this meat. 😁
That looks so delicious madam, yummy. 😘❤
Thank you hey. 😁I enjoyed it.

Oh I found my new recipe plug thanks sis❤❤
😘 you are welcome hun.

😁👍
Where did you buy it from
Hi I bought it at Pick n Pay in Rivonia. You can also try Meat World. 👍
We call it MATUMBO here in Kenya 🇰🇪🇰🇪
Beautiful. It's a tasty cuisine, very delicious. 🤤 I will definitely try it when I visit Kenya.
Matumbu in Zim its intestines but this we call maguru.
That is not South African traditional recipe its your own recipe but also interesting.
It is my own recipe yes, and it was super delicious. Trying new recipes excites me. Sometimes it can be quite boring to make something the same way.
