    I've done a load of Audio IC repairs and never had this happen, until today 😅. So today was my first IP7 BBCPU re-ball and it went well and all sorted now. Thanks for this Video it helped a lot 🙂

    This is a really good video for anyone in the field to watch. Appreciated!! Things like this have of course happened to me as well. Lesson learned!!

    I'm sure that you took out the audio codec with the right temp, but the phone was heavly bent!
    Happend to me before. I usualy take the codec out with 400c, and after few days the client come back to me and says that has problems with signal / service.
    Nice video btw!

      This can happen to pros. Dont be fooled. Lots go wrong whilst doing sone repairs. I have done audio ic lots but once has this baseband repair. Board was already bent. If you can fix the issue its no big problem. Remove and reball bbcpu

    Happened to me last week!. Have been using crappy stencil to reball bb_cpu, kept warping. Got a new 3D one, reballed just fine, no warping. All repaired now and working !.

    Here in the UK I have only ever got intel ip7, I've done loads of them with a pre-heater and never had an issue. The only one with no imei I've seen was a qualcomm which was a US import and that turned out to be the BB pmu.

    • @VCCBoardRepairs
      @VCCBoardRepairs  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, BBPMU is very common to cause baseband issues when it happens "naturally". Where as in this case, it happened due to the Audio IC job.

      I dont recommend that. If you're doing repairs, you will need solder paste to do this job

    Hey, if I get my audio ic fixed, can it get broken again with the age? I am an collector and I want to keep my iPhone for probably ever lmao, so I really want to know if this could happen again

      If it's fixed with the proper jumpers, it will be a permanent fix.

    Sometimes baseband gets shorted so it's useless to reball, before reballing they should check BB for possible short

      Haha. yes. it is a risky job if you don't have much experience doing board level repairs.
