Also, Tyson’s inside game is where he is at his strongest because he was the shorter fighter compared to his opponents so getting in Roy’s range won’t be as hard. The only thing that Roy may have is slightly better endurance but they are both gonna gas out because of old age. If Tyson wins, then it won’t be a surprise but if Roy does win, holy fuck we witnessed a fight once in a century.

Whereas Roy Jones is a naturally middle weight, with significantly smaller bones, heart and lungs - Roy had to add on a lot of muscle/fat to be over 200lbs (and is still lighter than Tyson), which means it’s harder for his body to handle that extra mass (smaller frame, small lungs and heart).

@@saintsfps5348 it’s still unfair. Because Mike Tyson is a natural heavyweight I.e his weight is due to his naturally bigger bones and internal organs (heart, lungs). Whereas Roy Jones is a naturally middle weight, with significantly smaller bones, heart and lungs - Roy had to add on a lot of muscle/fat to be over 200lbs (and is still lighter than Tyson), which means it’s harder for his body to handle that extra mass (smaller frame, small lungs and heart).

I have to say though I find it a bit disrespectful for the commission to be putting limits on them. If they decided it between themselves thats different but forcing such masters of the sport to take dumbed down rules seems like an insult to them.
The regs also play to Mikes attributes. Shorter rounds, heavier gloves and even the weight class all give an advantage to the naturally larger man.
I'll be rooting for both though. Two of my favourite fighters ever and its a fight I would have loved to see 20 years ago.
