    I am a self taught mechanic of over 30 years in the field. Helping people save money and stay safe on the road is what I am here for. If I can pass that along in my videos, that would make me feel even more accomplished. I am rather old school and do not really do things by the book, for this reason, I do not claim to make "Instructional" videos. My videos are for entertainment purposes only. Please use safety and knowledge when doing your own repairs. ~ Ben - MegaMiles

      I dont do it on everything but lower strut mount bolts have never been an issue.

    I have two problems with my 2012 Kia Optima SX. Shakes at 60 MPH, New wheels, new tires, and alignment done. Replaced one wheel because it had a small bent according to the alignment place and did not change anything, replaced a tire because they thought it had bumps, did not fix the problem. According to the alignment place everything looks good and see nothing. Could I have a bad wheel bearing or a bad strut? I hear a pop once in a while when I go over RR tracks.

      Take it to a different shop. Theres many things that can cause that... wheel balance, axle, bearing, tie rods and more. Tie rods and bearings arnt always noticeable to someone that doesnt diagnose suspension.

    Wait!! I'm curious how did you press the hub out from the bearing Ring because mine I'm working on getting this pressed out but wasn't sure how you did that but I'm assuming your's fell out from how much Wear it gone through and all this done on my 2013 Kia optima LX front right wheel hub

      15:40 this is how I do about 90% of them.
      The rest I use a slide hammer to pull the hub out while its on the car before unbolting the strut and lower ball joint. 5:02

      @@MegaMilesBen what tool did you use to press out the rest of the bearing from the steering knuckle and in your video 18:19 you have used three peases you used to press it out and the size of the diameter?

      @JaidenWoodard you can usually have a local shop press the bearing and hub in the knuckle for you.
      Most shops in my area will charge a half hour for it. Or if you find a small shop like me, Id do $50 for both, "off the books", if you dropped off the knuckles, bearings and hubs.

    So how do you get that done when you don’t have the tools that make it look easy?

    • @MegaMilesBen
      @MegaMilesBen  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most parts stores have loaner tools. Though they do require a deposit but you get it back when you return the tool of course.
      They do have a bearing kit that doesnt need press usage... shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/powerbuilt-tools-23-piece-forward-bearing-remover-installation-set-648741/10451275-p?product_channel=local&store=6288&adtype=pla&product_channel=local&store_code=6288&gclid=CjwKCAjwmJeYBhAwEiwAXlg0AZTFuiyKIcFbXoyXfDeHTDwSqrdgOYuccePkROI-oncT7t7Bz-816BoCryUQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

      I do in my newer videos. When I first started doing them, it was more to show my work than anything.
      Having to keep track and write all that stuff down while trying to get clients in and out can be a huge hassle and mass slow down on a job. Thats just one of the things people who watch these dont realize. Theres a lot of behind the sceens work involved in videoing a job at hand.
      I do list the torque specs and thats ultimately whats important.

    I replaced a wheel bearing and now it makes a squealing sound louder when you turn left do you know what that could be

    • @MegaMilesBen
      @MegaMilesBen  ปีที่แล้ว

      Possibilities could be... problems while installing bearings or hub, cv shafts, strut top mount and even bad/sticking brakes/calipers/hardware.
      Another possibility could be the brake shield was pulled forward and is rubbing on the rotor.
