Love the painting. Enjoying this vicariously through you as I didn't manage to purchase a copy and it's now upwards of £200 on eBay, which I just can't justify.
The release of this game was out of the blue for me...i preordered my copy and i m pretty sure its my most anticipated game of the year...love the theme..
The Bat Swarms look great. I hope that they get a separate release; maybe with the Rats. Octaren, "Risin' frum the grave; that's a paddlin'. Becomin' a vampire; that's a paddlin'." I like the Wound and Vitality Check mechanic in this; where both impact the character's action economy. Also, the card removal mechanic adds some extra mystery to the Enemy Reinforcements which is pretty neat. It is nice to see D12s getting some extra lovin'; they are the most attractive type of Platonic Solid.
You're my hero, Ash! I'm glad to hear you had a couple days to work on this, and didn't receive it on Thursday or something nutty! I pre-ordered my copy today!
Thanks for putting this together. Assembling, painting, filming and editing must have been a ton of work but it's appreciated! I'm starting to second-guess my flgs preorder though. After you cleared the initial wave it was just kind of milling around waiting for more leaders to spawn so you could kill them. One thing I really dislike is cooperative games that kind of limp to the end instead of build to an exciting conclusion. And I'm not sure about the enemy scaling as you level up. To make it harder it looks like they just spawn higher numbers but the stats don't change on the enemies. If you could one-shot some of the lieutenants at level zero what will it be like when you have higher level abilities. Can't wait to see videos with other journey types!
If you don't mind house rules I found the best thing to do is to spawn the enemies at a random gate determined by a dice roll rather than the one furthest away. It reduces the amount of time spent milling around and running back and forward.
Stellar job Ash. This is why you are one of my favourite content creators. Got my copy preordered and cannot wait to paint and play. Really happy to see that enemy activations are group wide rather than individual models. Rolling for 14 individual Traitor Guardsman was such a ballache 😂

It's Warhammer Quest but not as we know it, great video as always Ash. Keep up the original Warhammer Quest run though plse, enjoying it immensely!! Keep it up!
I really want to like it, but when watching this (and Blackstone Fortress) the game looks very light on tactics and very heavy on dice rolls. Nothing wrong with dice rolling, but unless the other missions have some meat on the tactical skeleton this too will be a pass for me (and I hope Descent 3 will be something that takes dungeoncrawls to lvl 2021). Cheers anyways for a quality playthrough, really appreciated.
Nice - I'm on the pre-order list for the 2nd wave - the figures are fantastic (and so well painted by your good self of course) - I think I'll be using them in other games more than they get used in this though, such lovely sculpts deserve multiple uses!
If I didn't own all of the Blackstone Fortress I'd get this. If they came out at the same time I'd get this. Just don't see enough to collect it too. Will enjoy watching the playthroughs though.
Thanks for the how to play video. I think you can solve the Initiative card problem by printing & cutting out a portrait of the hero and inserting it in the sleeve with them. :)
Are the D6,8, in D12 mark the exact same as the black stone fortress dice? I have a pet peeve of playing games where we are constantly passing dice across-the-board to each other I like to have every player have their own little set. So I'd pull the extras from that game.
Thank you for the video! Really helped me run my first game. I may be wrong, but I can’t tell if you were saying that the lychgates are where you can set your extraction point, and I had to look around to figure out that the “closed gateway” is the only place you can put your extraction point, and at least one closed gate is specified on the layout of every map

Ah yes, classic GW move to have non-standard card sizes, I remember having to buy some huge sleeves for the Blackstone Fortress cards that fit loosely into the sleeves, it's a bit annoying as I like all my games sleeved, but it's better than nothing I guess.
