  • I mainly wanted to re-record the video I originally did because that one sucked. This one is barely better but I just go over the parts I changed out on the ever evolving EP9
    Please excuse the mixing up of ‘bolt’ and ‘buffer’ at the end, I have the sniffles and get confused easily.
    One note I forgot to mention regarding the Velocity trigger is I’ve been using the standard version and not the steel version. Not sure if I’m just lucky or what, but even velocity recommends the steel trigger for 22 and PC builds

    So I've been leaving messages on the ep aftermarket website ever since I found out about them asking them when it was going to be back instock and haven't gotten a response. So it's good to know that you mentioned that the are going back in production. I been wanting that 7.3 inch handguard for so long! I'm trying to run a XL linear compensator on mine and want a handguard to cover most of it but of course no one makes one! I eventually want to suppress it which this handguard would work best for my build. Nice EP9 by the way.

I do NOT care if it’s fixed. I need to add around 2-3” to the length to make the weapon more comfortable for me. I have long arms I guess.

    Do you have the Strike Industries Oppressor, or the Strike Industries Oppressor Lite? I see on their website that there are two different ones. The Lite is supposed to work with 9mm and the normal version (not Lite) doesn't have any information about being compatible with 9mm. I also checked Primary Arms website though, and it says that the normal version (not lite) is compatible with the Mini King Comp, but no mention of the calibers it is compatible with. The only reason I don't simply just buy the Lite version is because it seems to be out of stock everywhere online.

      The list is in the description. As for prices, most or at least half were parts already lying around so not all of it was bought specifically for the EP9. The SI comp and oppressor I got second hand for around $100 and the buffer tube adapter was around $65 I believe. Link was probably $20ish. So far it’s run really well. I had an issue with the trigger as noted in the video where I used standard pins and had one walk out causing a pretty interesting ‘malfunction’. But anti walk pins solved that and I’ve put over 1K rounds since then with no issues. I recommend the Extar to anyone looking for a PCC. Even if you leave it stock, it’s a very good firearm and silly lightweight

    Hello, I have a couple of questions for you. I hope you don't mind. As for the Radian Talon Ambi safety lever, I am assuming it is the regular ar size and not the one for the s&w m&p 15-22? I just want to be sure before I go and buy one. Besides the grittiness, did it fit properly (correct size) without any modifications needed? And lastly, I plan on using my EP9 suppressed for home defense, using Federal 147 grain HST. After you changed the Buffer tube and brace, did your EP9 have any reliability issues? Did you shoot any 147 grain ammo through it? And have you shot it suppressed? Thank you very much for any information you can give me. Debbie

    • @comeoutandpla
      @comeoutandpla  ปีที่แล้ว

      First for the safety…I used the standard version of the safety and it just took some breaking in but not a lot.
      Second, with the buffer I have set up I’ve only shot 150 syntech through it and it ran great. And the trigger I have allows for very rapid fire and to this point I haven’t experienced any malfunctions. As always, your mileage may vary….but I would assume 147 grain should be good to go. The only variable would be how your EP9 handles hollow points. I know mine has run a small number of HST’s well, but it hates the sig vcrowns. So as long as you’ve tested the federal for feeding, I think you’d be good to go running them suppressed assuming you have a similar buffer system as mine.
      Maybe even stock buffer as well, I just haven’t tested anything suppressed with extars spring and buffer weight

      Thank you so much for your very quick and detailed response. I'm trying to read the reviews on that ambi safety to see if it is reversible. I shoot left-handed. I am right-handed but I am left eye dominant. So I shoot all long guns left-handed. I just got my EP9 about 3 or 4 days ago. Lol I have not had a chance to shoot it yet but I already had the can and the ammo. I just need to take it out to the range and see how reliable it is. I have the Gen 2 of course, and I don't really like the little blade brace that came with it. I want something that I can adjust and something that will have a QD mount on it. I'm just afraid that if I change it out it would change the felt recoil and reliability. Thank you again for your quick response. Debbie

      Mine worked but could bump fire very easily so I ended up removing it. As for pins, the best option I found for the needed length were the Strike Industry anti walk pins. There just long enough to compensate for the extra width of the EP9 lower

    • @therealblackcanvas
      @therealblackcanvas ปีที่แล้ว

      @@comeoutandpla the hammer antiwalk pin (cmc) has enough length and the trigger antiwalk pin is a hair too long. I can bump that pin on my belt sander to take that tiny bit of length out. I used a pick on the end of the hammer pin (port side) and pulled the 1/32 while tapping it in the otherside. It's not a crazy amount of tension but I'm Not sure how i feel about running it like that.
      Edit: I have a cmc pcc 3.5 ar9 in now. Same 1/32 issue on Hammer pin (could be just my ep9 or cmc is making triggers for psa). I could polish the front of the drop in housing to fix it ...but A little 1/32 spring tension shouldn't hurt anything. It functions perfectly on snap caps. • @comeoutandpla
      @comeoutandpla  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve always had an Expo Arms 8.1oz buffer with just a normal carbine spring. The biggest thing to remember is that you cannot use the OEM buffer tube with a standard buffer weight. It will damage their tube because there are bumpers they use in the factory configuration. Without the bumper, the bolt will basically beat the back of the tube and crack it.
      So if you do go with a regular AR buffer weight, use a milspec buffer tube. It will require the Farrowtech buffer tube adapter or something similar because Extar uses a proprietary system and only accepts their buffer tube

    • @comeoutandpla
      @comeoutandpla  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The ones I’ve seen break are when people swap to a milspec tube but keep the Extar buffer weight. Their buffer weight it covered in plastic and is meant to ‘bounce’ against the padding in their proprietary tube. In theory, you couldn’t break a milspec buffer weight in a milspec tube

  • @smokingcrab2290

    How about the buffer? Did you switch that out for a different one?

    • @comeoutandpla
      @comeoutandpla  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I switched the buffer to an expo arms 8oz buffer. I know I kept saying bolt for some reason, but i meant buffer. You cant keep the OEM buffer when you use a milspec tube because of the fact that the Extar buffer has a plastic shell on it and their tube had a pad or some type of cushion for it to bounce against. With the milspec tube, the plastic on their buffer will crack. There are a few examples in the FB EP9 group of people finding that out the hard way. I would recommend a PCC style buffer. I have heard people having success with as low as 6oz, but the OEM buffer is about 7.5 so I wanted to stay close to that number which is why I chose the 8oz one
