Thanks for posting these old instructional slide shows , they remind of my high school auto classes back in the 1960's. Today I own a nice big 1978 Chrysler Newport, so I enjoy watching these posts.
A year later in 1949 , Ford changed the look and style of the American car. Buick, Plymouth, Dodge, DeSoto and Chrysler all kept the rear protruding fenders up till 1952. Oldsmobile kept the rear protruding fenders up till until 1951. Chevy and Pontiac kept the rear protruding fenders up till 1954. Then in 1957 rear tail fins became the style! BTW , if you include Hudson , they changed their look in 1948.
