This is one Golden Collection of Antique Auto Service films!!! 👏👏👍👍😎 I'm hoping that you have many more. Since my first part-time job, in 1978, at a Gas Station (where people ALSO used to get their Cars FIXED!)..... Carburetors were always my main fascination and passion. I worked on them, studied, took advanced courses, got Certifications from Ford, Mopar, ASE, Holley and Rochester - ALL for Carburetors! I reached the Pinnacle of Carburetor Service, Overhaul, Driveability and Performance.................. *JUST IN TIME* to have Fuel REPLACE them all, and be phased out completely!! 😣😑😦😭😭😭😭😭 However, I still love playing with them, and being the "Old Fart who can fix antiquated technology"!!! 😜😛 I STILL prefer them. With a non computerized, carburetted Car, IF anything crazy happens like in movies, MY Car will STILL run! Also, NO Cop, Fed, or even Computer Hacker, can EVER control my Car, remotely!! 😀 Don't worry, I'm a Sane old guy. But with Technology as it is, and will become......... Just Sayin'
Working on a 1949 Plymouth that keeps flooding the intake manifold. This video gives me some ideas of what to look for, since I cant buy a "new" Carter Ball & Ball carb.
My brother got his hands on a 48 Chrysler Woody and upon inspection they found the carburetor has a couple of wires going to it. So far nobody has been able to tell them what the wires are for or what they do. I watched this video to see if they covered that but apparently not.
found the same thing on a customers 48 dodge deluxe but they're not connected to anything and the transmission has no solenoids at all. i suspect its been changed at some point and the wires were simply abandoned.

PacbeltRR I need my carb done on my 1954 dodge.
@Spurgeon Godwin ..... After doing a Timing Belt and Water Pump on my Daughter's Camry - I AGREE with you!! 😠
These young guys have no idea on how to work on older cars. The auto world needs you "Old Farts".
Do you have the Special 1-A and 1-B that covers the semi-automatic M-5 transmission on 46-48 Chrysler and Desoto cars? I have it on filmstrips.

They're likely some system added aftermarket....
NO 40's Carburetor ever had wires going in or out of it! At least new from the Factory.
Might of had something to do with kicking in or out of overdrive.
Yes, those are for the electric control of the fluid drive transmission.
1 wire is for kick down or passing gear. The other is a dash pot to let the throttle close slowly on deceleration to prevent engine stalling.
