Ford Capri Restoration 1983 🛠

Here is my Ford Capri Restoration, from a rusty shell that I collected for free 15 years ago to a trophy winner, a compilation of pictures taken during the Restoration. The car has been completely restored, all of the work carried out by me with most of it being carried out during covid lockdown when customer work dried up for me. I painted the car rosso red which was a first for me as I have never painted a full car before, Capris have always been a favorite for me and I have enjoyed rebuilding this one and most of all using it too. 😎 🚗 🇬🇧

I bought my red 1983 2.8 injection in August 1991 and was also in cardinal red. Now it's Honda Milano red. It's had a load of new parts including track control arms, steering gaiters, tie rod ends, hand brake cable, brake discs, hi-spec 4 piston calipers, custom built 1 piece propshaft, aluminium radiator, hand made brake pipes, to name a few. So after sitting in the car port over 4 and a half years (2 years due to being a key worker due to covid) I finally got to drive her a few weeks ago. It would have been sooner but I then had to work 2 jobs. So I've owned her over 33 years now and she is still the best car I've ever had.

Brilliant, sounds a nice spec Capri you have been lucky to have kept hold of it for so long. I have a black Capri laser I have owned for 20 years which has been off the road In a garage for a long time, I am hopefully getting another workshop set up and I will get it back up and running again along with some more videos. The Ford Capri is my favorite car and I am looking forward to driving mine again.

This looks stunning. Good choice in the Rosso red as I had one in Cardinal which looks good but this one is just brighter. Really well done and you've already won an award?!😎😎👊👊👌👌❤

Thanks i enjoyed rebuilding it. That one was originally cardinal red, I had always wanted a bright red Capri so Rosso was the best choice.

Hello you can check if you have a 20 block or a 205 block as bearings and other parts are different. A pinto engine is not too difficult to get parts for.

Due to the BABVVO and TEBBVO laws, all petrol cars will unfortunately soon be banned from public streets in the EU, CH USA and Scandinavia :-( In Germany, the Green People's Party has given the order to shorten the fuel supply from 2025 by reducing all conventional gas stations to just one state-run central gas station per city or county Now they even want to slow down all gas pumps by 20 liters per minute to 2 liters per minute... From 2027, some car spare parts will also be banned in the EU... such as exhaust systems, turbochargers and even some engine and gearbox oils. .. California and New York will do the same from 2027... So no more investing in petrol cars... They even created a new type of crime here called emissions and smoke crime . "Bundesabgasbespaßungsverbotsverordnung" BABVVO in Germany and HESCHLAVVO in Switzerland and SMORVERBIDDEN in Sweden!!!!
