Have to agree with others that half tuck looks ridiculous. Everything else was very nice in this video. I went loafer crazy this past year. I have the vanilla color in a pair of Franco Sarto loafers with tassels and softer Rockport driving loafers. I recently purcheased a pair of warm silver Naturalizer loafers that work with everything. I wore my wide leg jeans with white sneakers and a white tee yesterday. Like your last look. Soo comfortable. Great video !
Kay love your choice of footwear. I am totally there with you, however, have you noticed the price of those shoes. It's a good thing there are dupes. I don't know how you find them affordable especially with the discounts that are provided. I find even the clothes you recommend pricey. Probably you are catering to a certain audience.
Thanks so much for watching, Joan. I’m so glad you enjoyed the video. I do not cater to a particular audience. But I share the things I have in my closet - some are pricey, some are not - and I try to provide a wide range of price points.
Agreed. I prefer the term "reasonable" for prices, meaning the price is in line with the quality. Saying "affordable " is a popular term, but definitely narrows the intended audience. It's rather degrading to women who can't afford them, though I know that's not Kay's intent.
I love this video! Shoes are very important to pull your outfit together! Love looking at all your outfits and your advice is right on. Thanks for doing all the work for me to look great! Carole❤️
It’s easier than tucking in the entire shirt I guess. Some of us older ladies need to go to the bathroom every 20 minutes and the full tuck is too much. I don’t do either. I don’t tuck at all. But I stay home most days and rarely leave.
I’m 58 and I just refuse to jump on board with a lot of trends. I don’t dress old but I don’t dress young either. I just refuse to buy into trends that don’t look right on me. No cropped flairs, wide leg pants, half front tuck, super high rise or matching sets (top and bottom). I would argue that just because I don’t take part in these trends doesn’t mean I’m not modern.
@@gardenhappy4I really dislike what she calls modern this year. She's pushing, pushing, pushing barrel leg pants, for instance, which are an atrocity, and denim jackets, which are the lowest of low-class looks. Add to that, almost all of her videos now are straight up ads for her affiliates. I'm very disappointed in what this channel is like, now. It didn't used to be like this.
You and me both, Dawn. So many of Kay's recent recommendations look sloppy, frumpy, or low-class. Have you seen her Instagram posts today? I actually swore in my head when I saw the huge, baggy blue chambray dress. I don't understand what's up with Kay lately.
Oh Kay . . . I had totally given up on fashion this winter ~ wearing one pair of comfy clogs nearly every day this past winter. I know, I know, but I had given up. Spring is bringing a new outlook, and with yours and one other style TH-cam channel, I am refreshing my wardrobe . . . including shoes!! I've already picked up beautiful and comfortable pair of Naturalizer nearly flat cognac mules with the gold bar. I'm ready to order leather Sam E platform sneakers (I hope those are still in style ~ I'm always the last to go for something), and I love the idea of a metallic or straw sandal. No heels for me anymore with a foot bone issue ~ but it's 100% fine in flats (or modest heel). I sure have appreciated this video and you. God bless. :)
This was a fabulous video. I just purchased a full-length wide-leg pair of pants and I agree that either a pointy toe flat shoe or sneaker looks best with them. I don't wear heels anymore. I have three pairs of Tory Burch ballet loafers and absolutely love them. They are so comfortable and stylish. I haven't tried sling-backs, but perhaps I will in the near future. Thanks for your styling inspiration.
On the contrary, wide-leg trousers are about at their peak and narrow, tapered styles are coming back soon. I think too many women found wide-leg trousers unflattering, I know I did, as a very narrow-framed petite they swallow me up.
I think you have to find the right style. I am petite and I just purchased a pair, but it has to be high-waisted. Those are the only style of pants that work for my stature.
@@virginiagirl6628Do you have a full length mirror? I'm a size 22 and 5'2" tall; you couldn't pay me enough money to wear wide-legged pants. They add at least 30 pounds and make you look bow-legged.
I love wide legs and hope they become classic like boot cut or straight. I am petite in every way and I find them very flattering and super comfortable to wear. They also look very cute with a cropped jacket.
Wow, you found a lot of adorable shoes. Thanks! I really like the looks you showed us. In colder climates with spring with temps still in the 30's, 40's and 50's, it is a challenge for some of us to have exposed ankles. Oh well!
Thanks, Kay. With all the different pant length/width options it does get challenging to pick shoes, and your tips were very helpful. BTW the front half tuck is sporty and fun. I think the length of the shirt tail matters, though.
I love leather sling-backs with 2-inch block heels, but I always have to put additional holes in the straps to tighten them. Try this is they slip off. (I bought a leather punch tool from Amazon, so that I don’t have to go to the cobbler every time). If the straps are set too low, and slide down the heel, try putting a thin strip of self adhesive moleskin on the inside of the straps. I’ve rarely had a pair of shoes that I didn’t have to tweak to make them work, or to be comfortable. Buying genuine leather ones gives scope for making them more comfortable. PS, I just bought the white “embellished” pillowcases that you show here from Boll and Branch. I finally remembered that I need one King-sized set for some good down pillows I have that don’t fit my standard cases, and these are beautiful.🙂
Some wonderful guidelines and regardless that I am believer in 'wear what you love', I feel with such a wide selection of footwear on the market sneakers should be considered for a purpose that only deems them (lifestyle, athletic, physical reason) and 'not because they are necessarily on trend to wear with everything'. Also as to cutting off jeans to shorten without proper hemming; one also might want to consider investing in a reasonably priced sewing machine (or have a friend who has one to assist), search TH-cam as to 'how to easily hem a pair of jeans' that retains its original hem using minimal sewing notions and a straight stitching line. In other words; very easy to do even for the non-sewer. With no intention to offend those who wear sneakers and prefer their jean hems frayed.
For those who don't sew, they should be aware that budget priced sewing machines usually won't sew anything as thick and dense as denim. The motor just isn't powerful enough.
I'd love to wear flats, but shoes today are all made the same - cheap soles, no arch support, ABSOLUTELY FLAT. I do not have abnormal feet. As you age, your feet matter because they inform the rest of your posture and weight distribution from the ground up. "Just buy arch support inserts" - why should I have to, after paying good money for shoes? Why can't shoes just be made well?
Hi Kay, what a wonderful video you’ve done on shoes! I particularly appreciate you explaining why one shoe works and why another shoe doesn’t. Speaking of jeans hemline: Am I the only one who has experienced color transfer from my jeans onto my white sneakers? I haven’t seen any influencers address that yet. More great tips from you Kay! As pointed shoes left my closet several years ago I’ve found comfort in Vivia walker square toe shoes, they have a “V” cut out which elongates the foot. I love a good sling back too. I look forward to your Wednesday videos!
I noticed you did not wear socks with any of these loafers or sneakers. What kind of socks can you wear with off white lug sole loafers and full length pants or skirts?
Hi Kay. Sorry I’m late to the “party “ AKA this video. Question… have you ever heard of or are familiar with the shoe brand Vivaia? It constantly shows up in the pop ups and I see they are quite pricey but I’m wondering if they are good quality, comfortable and a good brand. Thanks! Always look forward to your blogs and videos 😊
Thank you for showing us some beautiful shoes and outfits. I like the little tuck of shirts at the belt buckle, but it needs to be the right length shirt. I believe the shirt your wearing is too long for the straight tuck. I think buttoning the shirt completely and then tucking will give a diagonal line that gives a nice curve. The abrupt straight angles does not achieve a polished finished look in this case. When observing an outfit ours eyes should always be directed to the face first and then travel down in a "S" pattern. The straight lines created by how you styled your shirt interrupt the beautiful flow too much. The colour flow and the movement of the angles create a beautiful silhouette no matter your size. :-) I would be interested to see the tuck on the opposite side of your handbag? Could add some interesting juxtapositions. Thank you for all your hard work. LOL I think we are all remembering the sexy boyfriend with his shirt half buttoned and half tucked! ;-)
💥Former seamstress alteration isn’t here - when you cut off your jeans zig zag over the edge with matching thread. Then wash. You won’t see the sewing but it will prevent those long unraveled pieces from developing.
After watching this video I happened to go into my local Marshall’s and found 4 pairs of shoes to try out. One of them was a light colored sling back - I think I’ll be in style this year! I would like to get a loafer; I’ve always liked them. Thanks Kay!
I love all of your shoe selections. I’ve been a shoe collector forever! A slight variation to the sneakers you offered are also very appealing. For example, the Skechers elevated sole style sneaker with memory foam. These shoes have a gradual elevation of a heel, but they’re not hard platforms. Not sure if I’m permitted to post a screenshot from the Skechers website as an example.
Another great video! I just love the striped palm linen blouse so much that I ordered it and will be taking it on vacation next week. Bringing 2 pairs of sneakers and one pair of ivory loafers. Going to pass on the mesh shoes, they just don’t speak to me.
Just finished watching the shoe trends video and loved it❤ I was wondering, however, if you’ve ever worn Vionics…one of the few brands that fit my feet, but don’t recall ever hearing you mention.
Yes. I’m so sorry we forgot to link those. I wear them so often! Love them. rstyle.me/+A_-o6tBmZubzFQXCG4hpQA I like that they look substantial, but aren’t heavy.
Miss Kay: Regarding Boll and Branch: the word "boll" comes, of course, from the cotton boll. Please check your pronunciation: cotton "boll" is pronounced as "bohl" or "bole" rather than "boll," as in bahl. It's the same word as in "boll weevil," and we Southerners know all about what boll weevils can do to the cotton crop! And you're right: bedding from Boll and Branch is wonderful quality!
I especially look forward to your advice and ideas on shoes. Your tip on deciding whether to go with a lighter or heavier shoe depending on your top -say, going with something heavier on your foot if you are wearing a sweatshirt or bulkier sweater -was especially helpful. I bought a bulkier metallic platform sandal last year that I really like but have been struggling to find the right outfit to pair with it. Thank you for your great ideas. I recently went on a cruise and had everything I needed. ❤
Such GREAT advice Kay Thank you . Loved the choice of shoes to go with those lovely outfits . And me too I’m happy the Slingback is back gorgeous and feminine I will go with the Kitten height due to my lack of height😂. Loved those little mesh ballet flats on you , might try that trend👍🏻. Love those cognac sandals with the straps beautiful ❤. Thank you for so many tips especially about the low contrast shoe with the low contrast clothing I will follow that one as I’m a Low Contrast woman .

Just my opinion, but the front half tuck is the most ridiculous look. Makes no sense what so ever!!!!!
I agree. It looks good from the front, but turn sideways and there’s the tummy!
Thanks for watching. 🥰 We all have our likes and dislikes. 😉
I like a casual front or quarter tuck, a much more modern look compared to the tight top tucking from my teens

I'm sure, but they also make you look 30 pounds heavier and bow-legged on top of that.
💥Former seamstress alteration isn’t here - when you cut off your jeans zig zag over the edge with matching thread. Then wash. You won’t see the sewing but it will prevent those long unraveled pieces from developing.
what socks do you wear with sling backs?
You look marvelous 😊🎉
Another great video! I just love the striped palm linen blouse so much that I ordered it and will be taking it on vacation next week. Bringing 2 pairs of sneakers and one pair of ivory loafers. Going to pass on the mesh shoes, they just don’t speak to me.
Just finished watching the shoe trends video and loved it❤ I was wondering, however, if you’ve ever worn Vionics…one of the few brands that fit my feet, but don’t recall ever hearing you mention.
Kay, you are very lovely. I love the raffia look. It is something I’d wear as a very earthy natural hippie type gal.
I so wish I liked the loafer look on me. It’s not my personality at all, but when I see the look on others I think it’s adorable 😉
I love your earrings in this video - can you share?
Yes. I’m so sorry we forgot to link those. I wear them so often! Love them. rstyle.me/+A_-o6tBmZubzFQXCG4hpQA I like that they look substantial, but aren’t heavy.
Amazon has a big sale this week. Today they have a lot of shoes marked down a lot.
Hi Kay, where do you got your jeans, love them.
Am I missing the link to the metallic sandles? They are so cute!
Kay, would you suggest what hosiery or socks you wear with your shoes. Thanks
What are the brand of the wide leg jeans in this video?
Miss Kay: Regarding Boll and Branch: the word "boll" comes, of course, from the cotton boll. Please check your pronunciation: cotton "boll" is pronounced as "bohl" or "bole" rather than "boll," as in bahl. It's the same word as in "boll weevil," and we Southerners know all about what boll weevils can do to the cotton crop! And you're right: bedding from Boll and Branch is wonderful quality!
She clearly said "bohl." Perhaps you need to have your hearing checked?
I didn't see the link for the caramel kitten heel.
Kay - Thank you so much! You are amazing!
The outfit with the gold sling was tops
Love sling backs but I can’t seem
To get rid of my cracked heels-any suggestions
I use creamy Vaseline (off brand). Works every time.
Lovely, Kay. You really nailed it!! ❤
LOVE SLINGBACKS!!! No slip with a strap/buckle
The are great!😊
I especially look forward to your advice and ideas on shoes. Your tip on deciding whether to go with a lighter or heavier shoe depending on your top -say, going with something heavier on your foot if you are wearing a sweatshirt or bulkier sweater -was especially helpful. I bought a bulkier metallic platform
sandal last year that I really like but have been struggling to find the right outfit to pair with it. Thank you for your great ideas. I recently went on a cruise and had everything I needed. ❤
Thanks for sharing!! I’m so glad you’re enjoying the content I provide. 🤗
Ooh forgot to say that bedding looks gorgeous ❤I have the same bedroom furniture as you so that was helpful .
Glad that you enjoyed the video! Thanks for watching!🥰
Are you wearing the Steve Madden mesh flat? It’s hard to tell. Thank you!
Yes😊
Very good!
Thanks!😊
Oh my gosh, cream colored loafers are so frumpy looking. I’ll take my cues from high end retailers.
Tory Burch is a high end retailer, lol. 😉
@@DressedforMyDaywithKayHarms At one time TB was considered a high end retailer, but not anymore. Her styles are very much uninspiring, IMO.
excellent ideas about shoe choices. very helpful
Happy to help!😊
