Love your posts. Shoe's... can't have enough. I did have to pause and back up a bit to get all the great info you were giving. TY for the great advice. I'm a new subscriber here for a long time.
Good morning Kay, I just love your videos. And shoes! My favorite subject! Lol. I have a tip. When I wear nude shoes I put a little 'face' makeup on top of my foot to tone down the veins showing.
Being a baby boomer , I just can't go without hosiery - still like the " smooth " , classic appearance of skin tone pantyhose for dresses & knee-highs w/ pants . Often enjoy colorful socks ( Talbots has fun color coordinating prints ) w/ jeans & sneakers . Obviously not a frequent sandal wearer ( ok for home & poolside ) or open toe shoes . 🙂 Footwear really does reflect a particular lifestyle , as one can see w/ my collection of sneakers , driving mocs , boots for riding horses , hiking & outdoor work , etc. w/ only a smattering of " dress " shoes in neutrals for special occasions . 👞👟🥿👠🩰🥾👢 🩴👡 💙
Really enjoyed this session on must have shoes, thank you for the ideas. Also love the bright pink and green together. I don’t think I would have thought of the color combo myself.💛
Always enjoy your videos. I have been wearing comfort shoes for years ( sketchers and bzees ) but decided to " elevate" my casual footwear look with loafers and driving loafers. Bought my first pair of loafers..Franco Sarto and then found Rockport driving loafers on QVC in vanilla and a nice tan color at almost half price. I also love the Rothy's look flats. Found many dupes on Amazon with the almond/pointed toe. Can't wear heels anymore but I have a couple of espradilles that still work. I like your slip on mule/loafer. You are so right about having comfy close toe shoes for spring and summer especially when the pedicure wears off. Thanks for another great video.
Love shoes! My favorites are loafers. They have such a classic look. I have about four pairs of stylish sneakers that truly add a chic look to any outfit. In fact, I visited a museum on Monday wearing a pair of sleek cargo pants, a button down shirt and a white blazer. I topped it off with my high-rise leather sneakers from ECCO. These shoes got me through 12 days walking in NYC -so, so comfortable. The only shoes I don't wear anymore are high-heeled pumps. You look so stunning in them, Kay. Thanks for this video. By the way, I have been using the Native deodorant for over a year now and I love it.
I just picked up some Easy Spirit sneakers in beige with a little gold thread mixed in… they are a gorgeous shade that will go with anything. Would highly recommend!
I have foot issues, to be general, and I have discovered DAWGS. I like their "Z" sandals and they have lovely 3 strap sandals as well. They are cushy, offer arch support and very affordable. And they come in many colors. That's me doing me.
I love my metallic sandals which double up as nude for me, as they have a clever beige strap across the middle of the foot. They are very comfortable, too. Sad to leave them behind as we move into autumn here in southeastern Australia! Back to boots for me, which I also love. 😊
You have a lot of great shoe ideas. I love metallic-colored shoes. I just bought some nude mules and I like them. Thank you! I like your new hairstyle! It looks great on you.
This was really good. I have all of these in my wardrobe except for sneakers. I’m just not a sneakers person. I have runners for exercising but I don’t like sneakers with going out clothes. I am much happier in loafers or sandals in summer.
All good "must-haves". Have never been able to find a pair of nude pumps that are comfortable, but do have sandals, flats in nude. I also count snakeskin as a neutral - think it's a little more elevated than leopard. I have finally bought a pair of white leather sneakers - but feel they make my feet look enormous, but - I will wear them as they are so "in" (things we do for fashion!!).
I LOVE all of the shoes you shared today!! I especially love my white sneakers, but I have always struggled with keeping them white. I would love some tips on keeping white sneakers white. I've lived in the South with the awful red dirt. Now we live in the north, and I think city dirt is harder to get off white sneakers, so tips please?!!
Thank you Kay for these advices. The shoes are a problem for me because I have some footbeds (soles). 😔The winter is ok because I have derbie shoes, boots, ankle boots but for spring and summer is difficult. I have some flat sandals in different tones. When I find confortable shoes, or when I can put my soles in it, I buy several copies 😂. And of course I have some sneakers and I love them. Good weekend Kay.☀️🌸
Thank you, Kay. I was intrigued with the high heel socks and the mule socks. Do the mule socks really stay on? I might have to get some of those, even the low "peds" looked interesting. Thank you for letting us know about this company. I have so many shoes, I am embarrassed about it, I have all the categories you named and multiples in each category. When my mother passed away and I had to clean out my parents' house to sell it, I was shocked at the number of shoes she had. I guess like mother, like daughter. Who knew she liked shoes? Not me! LOL
Thanks Kay for all the choices. I need a new pair of Metallic sandals and you gave us a lot of choices. I've been wearing a pair for 2 years but they have the strap between the toe, More of a flip flop and I would like a slide on pair or a strappy pair As usual is so informative. Have a great day
Thank you for all your videos. They are always interesting. I probably couldn't think of all these videos to do. Ha. Can you consider sometime doing a video on your closet and also how you store your items you are not using?
Thanks Tammy. Probably won’t do that for a video, but I have a blog post about it from last year here dressedformyday.com/how-i-change-my-wardrobe-out-between-seasons/
What is that pad that you have on when you were wearing the metallic sandal? They were the ones that you threaded through your toes. I’ve tried several and they seemed to slip, but the ones you are wearing seem to stay put. Thanks for a great video.
Thanks for a great informative video. I'm glad I have got my footwear right! I have most of what you suggested but have been toying with the idea of metallic sandals for summer - or should I say the 2/3 weeks of summer weather we have here in the UK😂!! ( Metallic wellington boots - now that would be a good trend over here!) Keep up the great work.
Thanks for the video Kay. I feel inspired and focused! Would you do a similar video featuring handbags? I’m confused as to how to choose a handbag style/material that relates to my outfit/shoes. Best wishes for a great day! Melody
Thanks, Kay! I rarely wear pumps, but I bought some black ones from Ally. Beautiful shoes! However, I didn't realize they were too big until I wore them out. They come off at every step! I'm going to try to find something to put in the toe. They are lovely shoes with lots of padding.
Oh my. They do stretch a little so you really have to buy them snug. I went with their size guide and it got my size perfect. That said, I did wear a pair of those little Sheec Socks in a pair of pumps that are too roomy on me and they fit perfectly. So you might try those.
I checked out LTK and can’t find that spring green dress you’re wearing early in the video. (At 5:54) Where is it from? It’s so cute! Oh - LOFT? (Google Lens for the win?)
Really great choices your 10 essential types of shoes 👠 If I could add two other types, it would be: classic high heeled espadrille wedge shoes & a dressy feminine sneaker (examples: Michael Kors, Coach, a dressy style of Skechers) 😊
Loved this video, Kay! The very first outfit in the green dress….I’ve been looking for a bright, Springlike green just like this. I hope it’s in your description on where to purchase. 2nd outfit that I loved…..the black pants with dark denim jacket and the natural sandals. I never think to wear natural colored anything with my pants, they always match. And lastly, the little things you had on with the metallic sandals….what are they for? I hope they are in the description as well. Thank you for all of your tips, I’m really glad I found this channel. ❤
Thank you for sharing this list. I have a pair of kitten heel pumps they are really cute, and i want to wear them. Any styling suggestions you may have will be appreciated. Thank you, Kaye Ratliff The pumps are red.
My time is limited like your suggestions but could u please show the shoes with how it makes the wardrobes complete so I missed out due to delay of time. I’ve been in fashion over 50 years, & I show my clients the choice & visual is so important.
You have a nice sense of style for our age bracket. I agree about shoes matching skin tone or the color of pants but I am bothered by the crop length of your pants. At least they are cut at the narrowest part of your leg, but they aren't elongating, which seems to be part of your focus. An ankle length or top of foot length. is more flattering. With a slit in the seam. it can be cooling in summer. I do think a flowing skirt or dress adds a drama that distracts from the short look of legs.
I love pink and army green together. You look so pretty! I was happy to see you being sponsored by Native. I use the deodorant and want to try the cherry vanilla body wash which I’m thinking will smell similar to the Jergens lotion my mother used when I was a child! I’m in need of a nude pump, but prefer a two inch heel, which Ally doesn’t have. I’m thinking i may substitute with either their kitten heel or block heel. Do you have any thoughts as to which would be more versatile? Thanks!
I have both the block heels and kitten heels and love them all. I think if you plan to wear them more with skirts and dresses the kitten heels would be nice. But if you will wear them with more pants, the block heels would be perfect. That’s not to say you couldn’t wear them other ways too of course.
Hi Kay! I love your posts/videos! In this video on the metallic sandal, I noticed it looked like you had a metarsal pad on that slipped over two of your toes. Is this something your recommend? I have to wear metarsal pads in some shoes and this one looked very discreet for sandals.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤Loved this . I have the sneakers ( in navy though, as thats a colour I wear most of) , I have the kitten heel pumps ( in navy once again as thats my neutral ) and I have the Nude sandals , but in a high wedge . But Kay looking at the nude strappy sandals they do elevate an outfit . Thankyou for this post . And the Native products sound so good ❤Xx
In regards to the metallic sandals - QVC has the Jack Rogers sandal for $98 which is a $30 savings in comparison to Talbot's price. I find I have to size up a half size in Jack Rogers shoes.
I love the video and totally agree with your shoe choices. I was wondering where you get the little toe pad you wire with the slide sandals. I need some of those.
...I agree with having a minimum of " Shoe Essentials " ,even if one doesn't go out a lot, etc. Just a few basic styles snd colours and one wont be at a loss of having good looking, proper footwear for whatever reason. (I have 6 pairs of black heels, I know that soubds " like a lot " , but all are different, for different ensembles.). I've had the " Metallic ' sandals for years, ( decades) and no, those do not really " go out of style ", ...they are very versatile...can be worn with trousers, jeans, sundresses, and a sheath dress ... elevates the look. I once had 86 + pairs of shoes ( that included various trainers, boots, etc. ).... I did , lol.. because I had a professional job, when I bought most of them, as well as I went out quite a lot,... so I kept the favourites and donated the remainder to various places ,for women who might not have the funds to even shop at a Thrift Store. I really need very little in the way of shoes, although I am interested in the " toe cap " shoe, but with a heel.
This was great, as I have some good basics in my closet, but woefully light on any nude shoe wear of any type! Your modeled examples helped me see the versatility of having this category! 👍🏻
You MUST have black shoes. Sandals, flats, kitten heels, stilettos (height depending on your preference) short cropped boots, hooker stilletto boots, practical boots, riding boots, thigh high boots. Anything else is a fantasy shoe, or boot, in color, or shape, at your whim. THAT IS A SHOE WARDROBE.
Kay, sorry but the links you provided in this video are hard to follow to find the prices of the shoes. Some I did find are in the $70 range for flats. For those of us on an ordinary budget cannot spend $70 for a pair of flat shoes.
Thank you Kay that is one out of 10 pairs of shoes. I don’t patronize Target because of their liberal policies regarding transgendered people as well as other issues over the years.
Hmm. When you click on the links below it will bring up a page with a photo of me wearing the shoes or a graphic collage of shoes. Scroll down and you’ll see photos of all the shoes I rounded up. Just tap on the photo of the shoe you want to shop. You will go directly to the retailer where the shoe is sold so you can see more and/or purchase.
For me the LTK page with images comes up, but nothing happens when I click the images. I’m watching on an iPad and use Safari. Maybe you have to have an LTK account to use the links?
Nope. You don’t have to have an account. I checked it out on my husband’s phone. But you may have a setting on you pad in Safari that is keeping you from progressing through the links. Maybe try on a different browser and/or device.
I did try the ones with silicone grippers and they still slip off my feet. Must be my feet! I think I'll give the ones that just cover the toes a try then I don't have to worry about the heels. Thx
Hahaha! I hear ya. I wear a 9.5 myself. I love the idea of colored shoes, but I never end up wearing them much. So I’m passing from now on…for the most part. 😉
Cute shoes. I think pointed toe shoes are so feminine but I know they can cause the toes to deform inward and increase risk for bunions so I stay away. I feel like my footwear then is so frumpy - I am not sure what to do.
Hmm. Depending on the shape of your feet, you may want to rethink that. I wear pointy toe shoes quite often and have no deformities in the toe area at all. I think one key is to switch up your shoes daily; try not to wear any pair of shoes two days in a row when possible. And when you do buy pointy toe shoes make sure they are good ones that are soft and forgiving in the toe area. My Ally flats are extremely comfortable and do not squeeze my toes at all.
I NEVER wear footies. I can’t stand them. Either socks (with pants) or hose (with dresses). I also wouldn’t ever own a pair of skinny healed pumps at any height. I value my feet/ankles/knees and comfort too much to subject myself to that torture. I could easily get by with just 5 pairs of shoes. Beige nubuck oxfords for jeans and light dress pants. Black leather high throat slip ons for dark dress slacks. Black and taupe low wider healed pumps for dresses. Thong/flip flops with twill strap/toe piece for shorts or summer casual dresses. Wouldn’t mind adding a pair of flat Mary Janes for pants or casual dresses, loafers for pants, and I’d love a pair of T-straps for dresses if I could find a pair with a low enough and substantial enough heel. My biggest problem is finding my size. 6.5 D or E (WW).
I see that you leave bare ankles showing between your pants and shoes. I have always thought I should wear socks or knee-high hose to continue the line of color and elongate the line of the leg. I am petite (5’1”) Or am I just out of date?

Sally Hansen makes leg makeup in a spray and lotion. I use it to even up my tan lines when my white feet show in low cut shoes and sandals.

Those are some of the Sheec Socks I mentioned. 😊
Yes, nude sandals are such great shoes for spring and summer. I’m loving mine.
Thank you
I've never worn mules. I'm admiring your loafer mules, but it just seems (that with no backing) that I'd be struggling to not fall out of them. ???
Thank you so much!!!
You bet! 💕
In regards to the metallic sandals - QVC has the Jack Rogers sandal for $98 which is a $30 savings in comparison to Talbot's price. I find I have to size up a half size in Jack Rogers shoes.
Thanks for the intel! 😉
I love the video and totally agree with your shoe choices. I was wondering where you get the little toe pad you wire with the slide sandals. I need some of those.
They’re all from Sheec Socks. rstyle.me/+JZD96oZx-ZJToliOzuqbwQ
...I agree with having a minimum of " Shoe Essentials " ,even if one doesn't go out a lot, etc.
Where is the link for the socks?

I love shoes! I have every one of these plus some! Great video!
Wonderful! 🙌🏻
Thank you, Kay, great looks and great ideas.
Thank you, so much for sharing.
🙏👍🌷☘️🌟🌺✝️❤️
Thank you, dear Rachel. 🥰💕🌷✝️
These are smart choices!
Thanks for watching, Carroll. 💕
This was great, as I have some good basics in my closet, but woefully light on any nude shoe wear of any type! Your modeled examples helped me see the versatility of having this category! 👍🏻
You had me at “ shoes”! Great video!
Wonderful!
THAT IS A SHOE WARDROBE.
boots? (what about winter?)
This was for spring and summer. 😊
Kay, sorry but the links you provided in this video are hard to follow to find the prices of the shoes. Some I did find are in the $70 range for flats. For those of us on an ordinary budget cannot spend $70 for a pair of flat shoes.
I’ve provided shoes in a range of prices.
In fact these, which are included in the list, are just $15 rstyle.me/+8UFp606vYVwPf0MxE6KAfQ
Thank you Kay that is one out of 10 pairs of shoes. I don’t patronize Target because of their liberal policies regarding transgendered people as well as other issues over the years.
@@kathybriscoe1474 it’s good to be flexible.
Great video Kay! I need to check into those socks. I love shoes and have too many but o don’t have the nude or black options. Need to work on that.
Absolutely. They tend to be the ones I wear most frequently. 😉
I wear runny shoes all the time. I am so sick of it but my feet hurt all the times. I really don’t know what to do.
Thank you for the help with deciding what's essential!
You bet. Thanks for watching. 😊
Goid morning!
Can you explain how this shopping ltk works? I can't seem to access the products.
Thx
I just found your channel last month. I love your style. Is there a link for the socks?
Yes. Here it is. rstyle.me/+JZD96oZx-ZJToliOzuqbwQ
Hello can anyone give me some advice please on how to clean my cream leather trainers (smart style) with gold edging
Thank you in advance 😊
Do you know « savon de marseille » . In France, I use it for shoes with just a little bit of water. 😊
Those socks amazing. So many different styles that work with all those different shoes. I've got to check them out 😂
They even have some you can wear with sling backs. Truly innovative!
I tried so many of these kind of socks. They keep sliding off my heels. Is there a trick to these?
These really stay on. They have silicone grippers around the heels or wherever the edge is. And they have a nice snug fit. They really work for me.
I did try the ones with silicone grippers and they still slip off my feet. Must be my feet! I think I'll give the ones that just cover the toes a try then I don't have to worry about the heels.
Thx
Good advice with explanation. I have large feet, 10 to 101/2 and used to buy a red or hot pink shoe thinking they were pretty! Wrong.
Hahaha!
I’d LOVE to wear those shoes but my feet swell and shrink like …🧐 I don’t know what! I only wear wide trainers, Chelsea boots and long boots
How about we just wear what makes us happy!?
Should say Sherry Ulrich my tablet Put my husband's name again Sorry about that
I see that you leave bare ankles showing between your pants and shoes. I have always thought I should wear socks or knee-high hose to continue the line of color and elongate the line of the leg. I am petite (5’1”) Or am I just out of date?
Nobody’s skin is white as a lily. Oops.
Seriously? It’s an expression.
Great advice!
Thanks, Jan. 💕
