Had the first gen Tiger Rally pro and loved it Si, just needed the extrat horsepower. Switched up to the 1200 Rally Explorer and didnt gel with it due to all the stalling issues. Switched back to this new Rally pro, and love it!. Plenty of power, throttle connection is sublime, and handles great, and i run Dunlop Trailmax raid tyres. Great video Si of probably the best adventure bike in its class. And my local dealer, Staffs Triumph are a superb dealer. Thank you
Man Si, your lovely Scots just brings me back to my Uni days (Stirling). Your opening sentences really puts the finger on the issue for me; I only want one bike. People joke around about wanting n+1 but man….I do my own servicing and have a job, mrs, 2 kids, other hobbies and parents still alive. I need another bike like I need a hole in the head. The new Tiger 900GT Pro, like the new ATAS, and indeed the brand new Tiger 800 seem like they’re made for me, 19” front will do myself just fine. Next year will be for test rides and saving up some dosh. Finally, a question: How’d you rate the heat off the engine and radiator? Rode a Vstrom 800 RE and let’s just say I’m glad I’ve already had my boys because my leg (and plums) was roasted after an hour.
Cheers mate thanks for the kind comment, I think the heat management on the Tiger is excellent made even better with the revision to the placement of the radiators. Hope you get sorted soon :)
Before I saw this video I had the impression that I could understand English. Well, I was obviously wrong 😀 - Greetings from Germany! I liked the video, even though I only understood every fifth word
Couldn't agree more! My brother and I rode the new 900 Rally Pro and previous iteration of the 1200 Rally Pro, swapping bikes a couple of times 'mid flight' to get an instant like-for-like comparison. Although we both preferred the slightly better comfort of the 1200, we would both opt for the 900. Really wanted to love the 1200, as it's a lot more bike for a lot less money (now at least) but as an all rounder the 900 wins. I found the screen on the 1200 to be naff too, even though it's bigger than the one on the 900. The screen on my Tiger 800 isn't the best but it certainly beats that on the 1200. I can flat foot the 1200 too, even with the seat on its high setting, so no issues there. So there you go, a lot of folding, but the 900 Rally pro has it all 🙂
Hello Si. Alan🏴 from Victoria BC 🇨🇦. Firstly thanks for the visit to your shop a few weeks back. Secondly you mentioned the BMW Boxer... Do you think that either this or the GT Pro could replace my GS 1200? Some roads I ride have 80mph limit so 85-90 is normal. The Triumph 1200 is clearly an option... but might the 900 work just as well? Great work on the videos btw!
Thanks Alan, it was great to meet you thanks ever so much for stoping by :) We have had so many people down at the shop selling or PXing 1200's not only Tigers but GS, Africa Twin and Multistrada and going for 900's. Its a tough call Alan and very personal, get one out for a ride, its a great bike and might just do the job for a lot less expense.
Picked new Rally Pro 2024 900 up 4 weeks ago swapped 2020 GTPRO 900 for it - love it 2000 miles on it in 3 weeks love it - any suggestions on tyres for my next tyres - normally been using Michelin road 6's but cant get them for these tyres sizes
Trailmax Mission! Forever thread life and super competent 50/50. The new Raid, is supposed to be an improvement on the off road side. You can get 25k+ on the Mission, that’s 3 times what I get from an Anakee.
I got a pair of raids in my scrambler XC. Great road, squirrelly on the asphalt, but very confident in corners. Don't think they'll last long with the scrambler torque.
My only problem with Triumph is the dealerships. I have a Triumph, Honda and a BMW and I dread my annual service of the Bonnie. I've used 3 dealerships and visited countless ones, and they've all been very/ pretty crap. I've seen this before ib other industries where there's a widening disconnect between the manufacturers and the distributors and it always ends badly. Its a pity because Triumph are finally producing some good bikes. That 900 has been on my shortlist for about 3 years and especially now they've improved it. If I had a good dealer within 150 miles I'd probably pull the trigger.
I’ve had the 24 RP for a couple of weeks and love it. However, the heat pouring onto my legs is a big issue which makes riding quite uncomfortable at times. A $2 piece of plastic diverting the hot air away from your legs could probably have solved this issue. Thumbs down to Triumph for not addressing this. It should be noted that I’m in a warmer climate so it probably affects me more than someone in your neck of the woods. But it’s really frustrating and disappointing that Triumph has not sorted this issue which has plagued previous models. Aside from having my legs roasted, I love the bike.
I have around 2k kms on the '24 RP and installed deflectors almost instantly. I also live in a "warm" country. The deflectors help but not by much. The heat this thing spews out is unreal.
The only thing that's ever stopped me buying any high end Triumph is the service costs. A friend of mine looked around for his 12k service, and the cheapest quote was £890!!! And before anyone tries to say a bmw will be more expensive. Far from, when I had a GS last year, It was £580, same 12k service.
Yeah thats the valve service at 12k on the 900's, they have gone to 20000 on the 1200's and 18000 on the 900's. If it was a BMW boxer the valve service is a whole lot simpler with the heads easily accessible when compared to the tigers. The trade of is the epic T Plane engine though it really is a masterpiece :)
@simotofoto Whilst wasn't a fan of the boxer, I'm come to realise tbat I'm not a lover off adventure bikes.. I moved back onto sports tourers, which, ultimately, in my OPINION, are better road bikes. I understand why adventure bikes sell, comfort, carry capacity, and can go on n off road, but 98% of riders never go off.. I don't get it personally, but we ride what we like and that's the beauty off it.

For what it's worth, you may find the lighter 900 tiger an easier ride and more than capable on and off road.

Sorry to hear Paul, where are you based?
@simotofoto In South Wales but whenever I'm away somewhere I try and visit a Triumph dealership for a look round and maybe buy bits and bobs.
Want this bike sooooooo much
Snap lol

@@Jeffknat yeah can’t believe Triumph hasn’t done anything about this
Interesting, in Scotland/UK that is a really welcome addition, however, I get that would be a pisser in a hot country :(
Live in south US and I think the heat thing is no big deal on my Rally Pro.
The only thing that's ever stopped me buying any high end Triumph is the service costs.

I hope your final comments at the end of the review don't mean you are leaving West Coast Triumph?
