Out of every interview I’ve ever watched of Joc this one of him explaining having to tell his son “No” he can’t go to the party hit close to home. As a parent of a teenage son it literally break my heart to the point of losing sleep having to say no to my son. Times is just so much worse than when we were kids that I’m traumatized by the outcomes of friends and family saying yes. Never thought I’d be like our parents back in the day saying the famous line “you’ll understand when you get older” 💯
As a Father of 5, I agree with all of this
As a mother of two boys only I say no so much I tell them you’re thank me later the world has changed so much I’m terrified and my sons are good kids I don’t wanna feel like I’m sheltering them from the world but I am I’m terrified I pray over them at night and when they go to work
Facts. I won’t let my kids go to parties unless they’re at my home and they can’t go to rap or R&B shows. Sorry. Our people don’t know how to act.

They’re making millions while being in direct contact with the streets. The business they’re in doesn’t allow too many degrees of separation when operating in a city like Memphis. All of that shit is unfortunately intertwined because the streets are often the target audience.
