I think it’s crazy when people take rappers lifestyle serious. Rappers from the 80s/90s we’re really about that street life and would fake TF out of their wealth. Rappers nowadays days blow through their wealth trying to flex and perpetuate upbringings that they really never endured.
It's not even that! Yeah back in them days you had to have a street rep, but the rapper is the story teller, street reports (not in no fed way) the one who say crazy shit and make everybody go "Ohhh!!!" He not the shooter the hood got him because he got the hood! But now it's all twisted. Take it from me I'm NYC born and raised ran with RFC graffiti Cru MTM original Cade One!
I don't know why it's so hard for people to just enjoy the music of rappers & leave it at that. Instead we see people idolizing & mirroring the facade that these guys portray. Sickening 🤦♂️
Because rap glorifies criminal activity, irresponsibility and the fact that most of the music is about being a loser and/or criminal. There's nothing to enjoy from that crap.

It was the same thing back in the 90's with the gangster rap of that time. None of the rappers then are living the life they pushed when they were young.
@@rzn2258as if there aren't any talented rappers now. Even then that's the industry at larges fault, people want to make money and spending ages to find gold won't make money especially if the person is interesting or is just copying some other lyrical guy. Kendrick got through because he's a mix of everything he's modern but he's got a lot of skill, he knows hen to be simple and when to be complex. Very few rappers past or present have ever had his level of understanding and it really shows imo. A good rapper is not wholly about technique, it's about recognising when the right time for something is, throwing lyricism and technique around will be it's own grave if you don't write anything memorable at the end of the day.
There are tons of 90s rappers who didn't have skill. Let's be honest here we are all just collectively remembering the 10 good rappers and no one else. Which is fine but it's rose tinted glasses no one wants to remember the truth.
I really don't understand why this keeps going on. EVERYONE knows it's fake, but they just keep right at it. What's the point in spending money on something when everyone else is doing the same thing anyway? You'd be better off going the opposite direction. My good friends that I considered family that I was living with at 18 unexpectedly inherited almost 2 million dollars. We were poor at the time and had been since forever. We suddenly were living in a big house in a country club in the nicest suburb in the state. New cars, nice clothes, eating at nice restaurants, we were living the life. Only took about a year to start getting bored of it. The people around us in the country club seemed fake to us. Half of them were prescribed happy pills because they were depressed. They drank a lot of wine. They were always having swinger parties and wife swapping was a big thing. Over time we missed the old life of being around real people and everyone sticking together to get through tough times. Being rich isn't what we thought it would be and wasn't like it's portrayed in media. Took 8 years to spend it all and by the end, we were happy it was gone. I wish everyone could be rich at least once in their lives to see that it's not all it's cracked up to be.
TH-camr: you'd be a damn damn fool to think that multi-millionaires who came from absolutely nothing are still willing to throw away their life after making it out Young Thug : hold my label
One thing u left out is that most of em don't even do the drugs they brag about doing. They rap about all the pills or weed they smoke/pop but they're not really doing that lol someone on trippie redd team said the blunts he smoke in interviews are fake.
Damn bro I know NOTHING about the morons you talked about in this video but I thoroughly enjoyed it and, by the end of the video, I knew everything I needed to know about these fools. That's damn good content for real! I'm gonna sub!👍
Most of these guys grew up wanting everything they thought life was worth having. The moment they get a sliver, they think they have made it. Their crew hits them up, family comes calling. Women start hanging with them. But it's not because they care. It's to soak up the sliver they got. Then it dries up, and these dudes got hooked on that fake love. They try to act like the faucet is flowing. They get behind in credit cards, other loans, mortgages, and car payments.
I’m way more surprised when I find out a rapper really is about the life they are rapping about then when I find out they are faking it. I assume almost all are faking it until they surprise me and prove me wrong.
My parents never sat me down and said don't look up to famous musicians for their money. I guess they somehow instilled in me an appreciation of the art. My earliest rap idol was Slick Rick and it was because of his lyrical skills I can give 2 shits about his gold chains.
I wish they did instel in you to listen to the lyrics, intell you that cause m'y brother came home and i was playing music in his room. I just remember one the thing hé Said before kicking me out of his room, the one thing hé said was listen to the lyrics of what there saying just opposite of what your parentes said. Best thing hé ever told me, cause i listened to content and wil i remember this 10 yrs from now.
Being a snitch is morally frowned upon in the streets but it doesn’t t make u less of a killer or a hitta… look at Sammie the bull He told on the mafia and he was their number 1 assassin
Street mentality is so bad, like why would you honor a system that has no honor itself? If someone is running around robbing people and killing, I am going right to the police before he does it to someone who else
It’s funny how 6ix9ine doesn’t talk that way anymore. His way of speaking is completely different 😂🤣 he went from talking all hood every single time, and now he has videos out where he’s talking like a regular/decent person 😂 it’s crazy how fake people are these days. They’ll do anything to look “cool” 🤣
What's really funny is the people who listen to the music of any artists and live a life on the streets... Dying over city blocks they don't own, living a lifestyle these rappers don't live and claim they "keep it real" meanwhile ALL these rappers are making money while the listener is dumb and broke using these songs as anthems while they out there thuggin for nothing...
@@downhillgang I agree!… Welcome to America. The most fucked up country and full of the dumbest people in the world… and last but not least, but it’s also funny how people support America… Yeah I took it there 😄
Bro. Subscribed. This is the truth. I come from the streets. But it always has been even with us former street runners. We couldn’t talk to each other with real true meaning anymore. We all had to play the part and act hard. Always. That was the way. But when me and my homie get alone we would start laughing and throwing it all to the wind. Then we were truly free. Set free by life. And you know but the second the other homies showed up the silence comes down again automatically every time. We didn’t even think about it anymore. I’m done with being fake with all the others. No more clowns. No mas. Be done with it. The music has become too much bullshit. And it’s all too fake to ever truly be called real at this point. If you aren’t lifting the children up then you are tearing them down by default.
Naw honestly. I'm not a fan of his music but the few interviews and clips I've seen of him, he has a good head on his shoulders. Glad the dude found his lane to make money and stayed out of trouble. Was also surprised to find he was a fan of Lil B, but then it suddenly made sense as to why he kept things real.
12:05 He noticed there was a bigger fatter person stomping around Then proceeds to show Rick Ross actually stomping around 😆 😂 That line made me laugh so hard ......damn
Yeah I watched this one to the very end. Rap is entertainment, and living a street life WHILE rapping about is ridiculous (AR-Ab), but inventing a fake gangster persona and then bragging about stuff that you never did is fakeness. How about they get all of that thug shit out of their system when they're young but then rap about it later? That's a happy medium between the two.
If you’re an established artist signed to a major label you might make $1-$2 per physical CD sale. If you’re a new, unestablished artist, you may make as little as $0.30 per CD. An iTunes download of an entire album pays the artist about $0.94. Individual songs pay about $0.09 per song. Which means an artist would have to sell 12,400 individual song downloads per month to make minimum wage. Streaming sites pay about $0.006 per play. So, if your favorite artist claims to have a $6 million house, a $1 million car and $3 million in jewelry, they’d have to have sold about $15 million (before taxes) in CD sales and downloads. At a theoretical average of $0.95 per album , they’d have to have sold 16,000,000 physical units combined with downloads of the entire album. According to Business Insider’s website, if an album sold 16,000,000 copies, that would make it the 26th greatest selling album of all time. The math doesn’t add up.
Artists get paid from touring. Labels and artists get paid from licensing. Nobody has made money from albums or listens since Napster. Labels barely make money now because of this.
I’m so glad you made this video. It’s easy to get rich but that show people can’t maintain that rich lifestyle level. That’s why I don’t won’t to get too famous it get to people head.
This was real good. Man, I grew up in the hood and I’m 30 now. Glad I made it out, by going to college and getting myself a different mindset. It’s crazy to think how much me and my friends glorified this bullshit. It’s sad a lot of them are dead, addicts or just straight up losers now…but when we were young you woulda thought these guys were kings… As you get older you realize this shit is a joke. Keeping black people poor by dangling a carrot in front of em. A rapper or an athletes, that’s all we’ll offer you. SMH
If you actually took time to study this world you would have discovered a lot of fuckery and literal industry plants. A rapper getting money and moving out of the hood doesn’t make him fake. It makes him smart. That’s not why the music industry is fake though.
yeah you can tell he from subs calling meek fake for not acting like he from hood and used a pic of lil baby with drug money when he was a kid is weird
I commend Drake for calling bullshit on that man that gave that girl the tattoo. I really do. that guy is an a-hole for giving it to her. Also, your videos are great. keep them coming!!!!!
Ever noticed that a lot of the older rappers became actors after a certain point of their music? Like sometimes I forgot Christopher Bridges, Will Smith and Tracy Marrow were actually musical acts.
Ice T, Ice Cube, Method Man, TI… Aubrey Graham was an actor first (Wheelchair Jimmy got out that chair and lived his dream of becoming a rapper), Xzibit did some acting… Ludacris did a ton of acting. So yeah, loads of rappers turned actor.
Yeah the reason they became actors is because they thought ahead and realized they can rap forever and that it’s better to have multiple ways of making money cause they were smart why cause they actually live that lifestyle it ain’t nothing to flex about seriously 😢😬😒
So if u make a bet u wouldn’t uphold it …..nobody should ever do business with u or believe anything u say your not a person that would keep there word
A very good and interesting video. Your right that these rappers nowadays are trying to build a following to become relevant and trying to maintain that following is what sometimes leads to their downfall. It seems as though to make it all you need is your audience to perceive you to live that lifestyle and it’s not as much about talent or making good music anymore.

They had to do something worth money
Not to mention statutes of limitations are a thing. Cops don't run on instant gratification they'll keep an eye on cases for yeaaaaars waiting for a piece of evidence that'll secure an indictment. That asshole telling you warstories is a fraud basically 100% of the time. I talk about the crimes I was convicted for, that's it. Why? I'm not trying catch another fcking case 😂 I've come too far. You don't stop until you get stopped, and when you DO catch that case during discovery you'll learn how viciously they'll pursue things if they want to. You stop running your mouth then and there.

I think it’s crazy when people take rappers lifestyle serious. Rappers from the 80s/90s we’re really about that street life and would fake TF out of their wealth. Rappers nowadays days blow through their wealth trying to flex and perpetuate upbringings that they really never endured.

It was the same thing back in the 90's with the gangster rap of that time. None of the rappers then are living the life they pushed when they were young.
The difference is..
In the 90's Rappers had skills on the mic. And their own personal styles.
The 90's gave us Timeless Classics.
@fraterperpetuuscoegi7668in living color was my SHIT. I completely forgot about that show

At least then it'll stand out, and you'll keep more for yourself...

Did you buy a decent car though? 😂

This is one of the best documentary videos exposing shit for how it really is. Bravo 👏
I’m way more surprised when I find out a rapper really is about the life they are rapping about then when I find out they are faking it. I assume almost all are faking it until they surprise me and prove me wrong.
The motto is "Fake it till you make it." That's it. That's all there is to it.
My parents never sat me down and said don't look up to famous musicians for their money. I guess they somehow instilled in me an appreciation of the art. My earliest rap idol was Slick Rick and it was because of his lyrical skills I can give 2 shits about his gold chains.

Bro.
@@TobiasTheGrimonly Drake controls the rap game✡️💵🪬💯🤑👹🩸🎤
Artist get paid for show money and advertising. That why the keep having to tour @50
You're forgetting about show money, but yeah your point stands.
Artists get paid from touring. Labels and artists get paid from licensing. Nobody has made money from albums or listens since Napster. Labels barely make money now because of this.

Ever noticed that a lot of the older rappers became actors after a certain point of their music? Like sometimes I forgot Christopher Bridges, Will Smith and Tracy Marrow were actually musical acts.
