    Just got diagnosed with EDS adhesive achronitis in April...
    Now I find out all my medication hypersensitivity is because of the Eds. Now have mast cell activation because of the diazepam, dysautonomia, blood pressure up and down, O2 stats up and down, blood pooling in my legs, complete nervous system deregulation, and I'm going blind,( low pressure glaucoma from the Eds) in a very short period of time. All due to the diazepam.

    12 years intractable pain patient. Did you fell back surgeries. Now diazepam has stolen what was left in my life.. my doctor did not know what he was doing and I did not know what I was taking. started in August. And it turned on me in a matter of very short time. (Too high of a dose to start with.2mg-x6hrs-4xaday)
    By January I was in bad shape and didn't know what was going on. I thought the medicine was just too much. And he said oh no problem just cut it in half. 🤬 That began my cascade of the so-called withdrawal.. I have eye damage, vagus nerve, intestinal, vascular, complete nervous system. The worst of the worst.

    EDS patients cannot tolerate any kind of psychiatric drugs
    Due to the hypersensitivity of medication. I've been trying to tell doctors that for years. Always been hypersensitive to Medicine.

      I was told that benzos are mast cell stabilizers and muscle relaxants and are commonly prescribed for EDS. This was from the admin of a benzo group. Nightmare situation.

      You can't trust any of them.. they don't know anything.. right now I know more than any doctor I've ever been to. 12 years of suffering and to fail back surgeries and now this. They do not get taught anything in school. Each disease or illnesses gets 5 minutes... And they're giving the wrong information.. Don't continue their education.. consider everything that you did not learn in school. That you had to find out the hard way. After being in school 12 years.. you didn't learn anything.

    I’m tapering off of a prescribed benzodiazapine. I’m using a slow taper recommended by BIC. My question is are benzodiazepines really bad to take more than 2-4 weeks as stated in the prescribing information and do you suggest that taking Benzos for years is not healthy. And what do you think about older people taking Benzos. And If they’ve been on them for years, should they try to taper off or just stay on them? Thank you!

      As I have mentioned before, benzos can cause neurological dysfunction for up to 20% of patients who take them long term. About 50% will end up in tolerance or withdrawal at some point. So it is a personal decision, and providers should respect a patients choice as long as it is not causing harm and make sure they are given full consent.

      No such thing as informed consent. idiot doctors don't have a clue of what they're even doing... My p.m. Dr thinks you can be off of Diaz in 3 weeks.
      He said to me" I don't understand why you want to go through withdrawal" 🥺🤬
      He caused it to begin with when he cut my dose in half in January. 🥺🤬

    I’ve tried a lot of medications, and I’m interested in trying gene testing. My concern is they are based on how well they are metabolized by the body. Most of my issues are that the medications usually give me paradoxical effects. Because of this, my doctor has eliminated benzodiazepines, SSRIs, and is hesitant about SNRIs for me. Will this still be helpful or is it possible that the gene testing will say I metabolize something well, and I will still have a paradoxical reaction?

    • @LevelheadedMind
      @LevelheadedMind  หลายเดือนก่อน

      A paradoxical reaction is different than a side effect. It is unknown why some people have this type of reaction but I do know the elderly are more prone to this. I do not believe the issue is with metabolism, so yes it is possible to have a medication in green and still have a paradoxical effect.

      @@LevelheadedMind Ok, thank you. I have ASD, and because of this, I appear to be pretty sensitive to medications. I’ve responded best to risperidone, but I have to switch to aripiprizole because of side effects. I’m hopeful that it is just as effective with less side effects because I actually liked how risperidone made me feel.

      Work on a clean diet, correct nutrient deficiencies, and lowering inflammation. Also, do some vagus nerve work to calm the nervous system. You can also do some brain retraining programs.
