    As someone who has spent a lot of time painting Necron's and had forgotten what to do with the paint's at my disposal, I humbly thank you for demostrating amazing tutorials on what could be achieved! I had thought the red dress I was painting looked a little flat, so I'm gonna lift the lessons from the cloak straight onto there.

    man, I wish I had seen this video before I just finished my Strange. I used Orange Leather mixed with the Sahara Yellow and I must say I really do love how the Violet works with it in this instance with the cape and the blue. Mixing violet in the shade really unified it. I'm not saying I dislike the Orange Leather look, but I am in love with the unified look the Violet pulled off here, even with what I thought to be incredibly odd with the Sahara Yellow. Nice work!!

    Honestly I really wanna try and paint my miniatures like your videos show, but this is the first time I've ever painted miniatures. Painting is such a complex art and I've hardly even painted anything before, would you recommend that I try to follow your example or try something else?

    • @Sorastro
      @Sorastro  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Nic! One of the great things about this hobby is that it can be as complicated or as involved as you like. For my Marvel series I'm indulging myself with some fairly advanced painting that I wouldn't necessarily recommend for a beginner, but if you look at my Lord of the Rings series, you'll find some nice simple techniques that you can achieve good results with even if you're new to the hobby: th-cam.com/play/PL6xOeNhrVj9ubJb-dNd-S_M4G3jRGrsBJ.html Or start with some zombies - they're super easy and fun: th-cam.com/video/LMOTmOchKyQ/w-d-xo.html So my advice? Start simply, have fun, and then take things as far as you like depending on how much you find yourself enjoying the process :)

    Quick question about using the air brush for priming. What PSI is the best to use when applying? Also, are you doing short quick bursts or longer drawn out spraying patterns? Love your videos!

    • @Sorastro
      @Sorastro  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! I've actually managed to break the pressure gauge on my compressor so I don't really know what my PSI is! I guess I use fairly long sprays, but I do rock the trigger back and forth a bit to "pulse" the paint out a bit, and I keep the figure and the airbrush moving all the time.. :)

  • @MisterNorthernCanuck

    I'm curious, did you stop using washes gradually as your skill level grew because you feel you have more control with very precise and thourough highlighting?

    • @Sorastro
      @Sorastro  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! I think it's more to do with what level of painting I'm aiming for; for speed painting minions etc I'll still happily use washes (or the newer Contrast Colours - see my next LOTR video!), but for single hero-type figures like Dr Strange I prefer a more controlled approach. :)

    Hey there Sorastro, I am a big fan of your work and love your painting guides and videos. I was looking through your videos and pdf guides, I was unable to find any of the darker skinned MCP characters: Blade, Luke Cage, Storm, Killmonger are the most obvious examples with dark brown skin that I would love to learn how to paint using your techniques. I would especially recommend doing Killmonger, he is mostly dark brown skin, that way I can learn your technique for this skin tone and apply to the others?
