Julius S my truck is too old for pedal commanders but soon I’m getting a truck that can have a pedal commander and with a tune and a pedal commander will that work
Just got a Pedal Commander for my 17' Chevy Cruze diesel. Definitely woke it up and actually has some pep in its step now. The sweet spot for me that I keep it in is City +1

THANK YOU BROTHER.... KEEP ON KEEPIN ON... @DMAXRYNO
Oh and also I didnt go to college and school was never for me. I dropped out and went into construction at the young age of 16 and I dont regret any of my decisions in life @DMAXRYNO
I'm glad you guys did a review on this product. I recently picked up a pedal comander for the same exact truck. It worked great for switching on the fly until I used the app and it did the same exact engine reducing thing. The check engine light ended up turning off after driving it 10-15 miles. Luckly my neibor had a scanner and code p2122 came up. Now I dont use the app and havent had the same problem since. Hope this helps you guys
It happened when I switched it from sport +2 to eco mode on the app. I think it has to do something with eco mode because on the module you have to hold it 3+ seconds for it to switch to eco mode
Pedal commander is for electronic gas pedals. No matter how fast you push the pedal on a stock pedal your throttle body opens at the same rate. With the commander race mode makes the throttle body open at the same rate as your foot pushes the pedal. That is how it works.
I learned, from experience, that u have to come to a complete stop in order to change modes or else it’ll throw codes...switched modes while on cruise control and it threw a code and power was reduced next to nothing ...unplugged it and plugged it back in and haven’t had issues yet
I have one. On a Ford Raptor. Don't call it a gimmick or fake. Huge difference from with to without. You can't duplicate what it does by just pressing the gas pedal harder. It does something. No doubt. I loved it at first. That being said, I've had it on for 2 years. I started noticing odd shifting, especially down shifting, or not shifting, at odd times. Like to the point I thought something was f*cked up. I took the Pedal Commander off, and my problems are gone. I don't go by what people "say" ---- I go by what I actually experience, and that is what I've experienced. Did it start to malfunction? Cause havoc with ECU even though it's "not supposed to"? No idea. But as of now, I'm glad it's off.
I have a Pedal Commander as well. Although you “can” change settings on the fly, I ran into the same issue. I have the Diablsport Trinity programmer and was able to stop and reset engine codes and it went away! I don’t remember the specific code number. But it was obviously related to f’ing with the throttle response.
If you disconnect the battery the truck will do a self diagnosis. To make sure all systems are good if you really ruined something the check engine light will pop right up.
reset the check engine light without a scanner, turn the key on pump the gas pedal 5x, key off, repeat for a total of three times, should reset check engine light
Man I loved how much chris was talking in this video and then when he was upset about the engine light coming on I was like damn. Back to normal, untalkative Chris now 😂😂
This video was very entertaining. I'm no expert in anything, but I'd guess that If Chris has issues with shaking he should cut down or eliminate his energy drink consumption.
I have a 6.2l raptor and city mode is perfect for daily and sport is great for off-road high speed hooning and if need be city -2 or -4 for sand, snow or crawling over rough terrain.
I have a pedal commander on my HD with a 6.0. It makes it a lot more drivable, especially with the leveling kit and larger tires. It feels more powerful, even tho it isn’t. Anyone that badmouths it, has never driven with one. I never use the Bluetooth app tho, always manually change it, and have never had a problem.
I have a Pedal Commander on my 6.0, and I love it. Oh, -and I also drive with my right foot, -and only my right foot! ProCharger FTW! I am saving for one myself!
I have a Bluetooth scan tool that I have connected to a phone specifically for my car (an old one I had) and I can scan and reset it whenever I want. It's an old subaru so the fuel neck rotted out and constantly throws out codes.
Given the increased speed in throttle function the pedal position sensor and throttle body position sensor just got out of sync enough to throw a code and reduce engine power. Happened to me regularly on my Silverado 6.0. My issue was corrosion inside the throttle position sensor. Would act up with high humidity or on rain and snow.
I owned a 1985 Chevy k10 short bed with a 355 stroker and had a heavy cam on it and was a automatic I had to double foot it to even help it idle so from that day forward I've always been doublefoot
I used to do the same thing at every stop light to keep my 92 silverado on. I still drive with two feet even though i got my truck idling on its own. It idles at 400-500rpm so i rev it up every now and then at a stop.
I'm a two foot driver as well, alot of people don't understand why I do it. But this explained it well! While being in bands as a vocalist, you pick up on how to play instruments such as drums, guitar, bass, etc. Drums you have to be independent with your feet and that's what I say when it comes to two feet driving, independence.
Gas tuners are lucky to pick up 25-30 HP...just the nature of the beast. The P/Commanders manipulate the throttle request to the PCM asking to have the fly by wire throttle to open faster and further for the same amount of actual throttle pedal movement/position. Basic throttle mapping compromises for smooth throttle response and not hammering the drivetrain... Thanks guys...
I've never mastered the 2 foot driving. I fly planes so 2 feet is required but just can't in a car unless it's a manual trans. As for the pedal commander never understood those. Your almost to tuner money at that point and they all can adjust the throttle response the same way. But with a tuner they can refine shift points and other things as well to get a better whole package. You can actually make the electronic throttle bodies too sensitive. Had that in a blown mustang. It would literally just boil the tires at any throttle.
There's nothing wrong with driving with two feet, unless your're that guy that slightly apply the brake pedal with your other feet causing the brake light to come on and the people behind you don't know if you are stopping for real , then it becomes annoying.
what is with the sunglasses and the hat on backwards? My cousin has two trucks. One is gas and the other is diesel. He got the Pedal commander and it really woke up the response of the trucks. I got the itch to get one . I hope to get the same. Thanks for the video!!!!
It will be fine. Y'all just tried changing it to two different settings at the same time and threw a code. That's why it went in limp mode because it thought something was wrong with the fuel system, and then started running right again after you shut it down and restarted it. All it needs now is the code cleared. Then he needs to change the settings from one remote, and not back and forth and back in forth within seconds. Peace!!
I've had mine for over a year on my 2017 Chevy Silverado 1500 Z71 crew cab and haven't had any problems ( check engine light going on ). Ive never used the Bluetooth app I just use the wire controller. I really only run it in sport + 4 around town and sport 2 +4 on the highway and the only trouble I've had is going down hill when the down hill assist kicks in on the truck , the truck transmission gears down and the pedal commander is giving it to much gas in that gear. Other than that it was the best 300.00 up grade I've made. When my Warranty runs out I'll probably get a programmer but until then it's the best option for those of us who live in CA where everything is illegal. It gives you the power your truck has when you need it.
Brian White I take it out when I go in for oil changes just in case, it only takes like 2 minutes . There's no way for them to know if they don't see it
My truck started having the same exact problem after having a custom tune done on it, after a day of leaving it alone it drove normal the day after. The problem came and went, usually when I would be smashing on the pedal like ryno. I fixed the problem by putting in an aftermarket throttle body in, the stock ones are junk. A year after and I’m good.
We dont run that new of GM pickups but do have a bunch that are at least 10 years old and the check engine light is just part of driving, if it shuts off though now that is reason for concern!
You should be able to use your tuner to clear codes on the gasser. Install not required to read and clear codes or take it to any auto parts store and they can scan and clear also
I just put in a purchase for my chrystler 300c hemi to mind u its pretty fast as it is stock but im almost scared to see what my pedal commander will do to the response when I install it after arrival lol.
It changes on the fly but doing it that way can cause it through a code if it does turn the truck of and let the unit turn off then turn every thing back on and you should be fine
Man I've had that on my '18 crew/4×4 and it legitimately wakes it up and deletes "putt-putt" mode!! Running Sport+ on #2 with 35s almost feels a like stock diesel!!!
All you have to do is turn the pedal commander off ,then turn the truck back off and on,then turn the commander back on. It did it to me this weekend on my 2013 Silverado 2500hd

I have a pedal commander on my 2016 Dodge Challenger. The engine light comes on if you change settings while in motion or when your foot is one the gas pedal
DO NOT USE BLUETOOTH! It made a bunch of lights come on on my Chally. I switched modes while I was sitting completely still and I had about 4 different error lights come on. All except engine light went off almost immediately. Engine light stayed on for 2 days. System eventually sorted itself out. Just use the Pedal Commander control box and you’re good. Amazing product. Love that damn thing. I drive in Sport +, +4 always. It’s like trying to tame a wild beast. Definitely worth every cent.
I have one and have been running it on Eco mode for a while, and haven't had the check engine light come on during that time due to the Commander. Usually, the gas cap is loose or my battery voltage is low. One time my check engine light was on due to a camshaft position sensor was bad. Turns out it was due to low battery voltage. But earlier this month, have changed to City mode for more "fun".
Eco mode can be and should be disabled anyway. Especially with big mud tires on a big heavy truck. The problem he was having was the truck went into V4 mode and wasn't getting enough power to spin the big tires with all that weight. It does void your warranty but then again most if not all of the mods he did to the truck already did that.
He's better off with a top mount blower then a procharger. Top mounts are more suited for larger heavier vehicles. I put one in my TBSS and the get u and go is alot better then a procharger counterpart friend of mine. That pedal Commander is just like a tow hual funcion. It plays with tb opening ramping percentage vs pedal depresion.
Only time i two foot is when im up a steep incline at a stop light and have to easy off/on brake/gas. Because the vehicle behind me decides to stop on my bumper
I had the pedal commander on my cobalt and it would do that weird limp mode and have no power Fix: the actual connector on the pedal to the P.C was just ever so slight loose and was getting bad connection on bumpy road. I gave it a tight squeeze I heard it click into place and the problem went away for good. 2 months later I got in a accident and the Cobalt got totaled :( I still got the P.C just in case I get a Chevy in the future
If I'm not driving a manual transmission I always drive with 2 feet. I have no delay when some dumbass cuts me off. The only time I got into a wreak was when a drunk driver hit me head on and it destroyed me. Split my head wide open from front to back requiring 1200 stiches on the inside of my head 800 Staples on the outside of my head broke 6 in my neck and 15 in my back.
I can drive with two feet fine, I just prefer not to, because sometimes you can start riding the brakes enough for your lights to keep coming on and it’s annoying to drive behind people who do that because you think they’re slowing down every couple seconds. I actually started driving with two feet when I got a go kart as a kid. I’ve also rode dirt bikes and atv’s since I was 7, so you do your shifting and braking with your feet. So it’s easy for me, but I still don’t do it
THROTTLE BODY OUT OF RANGE CODE, MY CB MADE MY PEDDLE COMANDER SEND THAT CODE AND MESSAGE ON MY 2016 SILVERADO, I BET THE HIGH SETTING HAD IT OUT OF SPEC FOR THE COMPUTER
My '05 awd 6.0 Escalade's pedal's response changes as you change the pedal height. No idea if that's how it's supposed to be, or if the original owner installed something. I keep it all the way up though lol
Yeah instructions for pedal commander are pretty clear to not change the settings while moving or risk damaging your vehicle...good video though 👍

Only time i two foot is when im up a steep incline at a stop light and have to easy off/on brake/gas. Because the vehicle behind me decides to stop on my bumper
Why dont ppl use the sprint booster that’s the original right? I hardly see any videos of ppl reviewing it
Two foot driving I don't mind, as long as u don't ride the brake while driving, but I can relate with making the left hand do what u want,....
Autozone will do code checks for Free. Pretty vague scans but will give u an idea of where to start
Been running the PC since I bought the truck new in June. Running 6.2L 8spd and it drives great.
I had the pedal commander on my cobalt and it would do that weird limp mode and have no power
Fix: the actual connector on the pedal to the P.C was just ever so slight loose and was getting bad connection on bumpy road.
Chris started out bad ass today making you chuckle and I sure laughed at his peek a boo intro
Same thing happened to me. Please let me know how he fixed it.
I about put my truck in neighbors yard the first morning after install. Crazy how sensitive the throttle is in sport. Not tried sport+ yet.
Check engine light will stay on 120 miles or what ever that the drive time of that truck is for the ecm to
What kind of amplifier is that sitting under your guitars on the wall! Is it a Mesa boogie?
Pedal commander works no doubt I have one in my 17 Silverado and my brother has one in his duramax works in that too!
What’s the info on the wheel and tire setup? I have a Sierra and I like that style 😉
My '05 awd 6.0 Escalade's pedal's response changes as you change the pedal height. No idea if that's how it's supposed to be, or if the original owner installed something. I keep it all the way up though lol
I just subscribed and I dont even have a truck
3 power cycles and the check engine light will go out if issue was temporary...
Anyone know the specs on Chris's black truck. Lift, wheel and tire size etc.....
