    Hello many thanks for the video. This looks really awesome.
    Do you know if this would also work with the DJI FPV system? It also transmits with 5.8G.

      @@PIDflight I'm a bit confused, how does this transmit via Bluetooth without adding a BT module??

    • @PIDflight
      @PIDflight  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@j.r.0420 In this video I'm using USB OTG to power the lap timer and connect to it -- however you can use Bluetooth modules such as the HT-06 (Classic) and HM-10 (LE) by simply connecting them to the TX/RX of the Arduino. There is also a few steps required to configure the Bluetooth modules which is documented here: wiki.rotoroverflow.com/pidflight:bluetooth -- namely the important one is setting the baud rate to 115200 on the BT classic modules.

    So can you hook up to livetime fpv? And or use this firmware on the delta 5 set up for multiple channels and then hook it up to livetime?

    Can you daisy chain multiple units together to make a dedicated system? If so what is the pinout?

    Is it possible to monitor different pilots? Let’s say a race of 4?

    Did you have to do the SPI mod on the 5808 module or does the module shipping now from Banggood no longer need that mod? I plan on building this on the pdb. Thanks!

    • @PIDflight
      @PIDflight  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Jeffx FPV My first few batches of RX5808 modules I had to do the SPI mod, however my last order of RX5808 modules from BangGood I didn't have to. I've also had other users report that the recent RX5808 modules from BangGood already come with the SPI mod done.

      Not at this stage, however with the weather improving here in the next couple of months I plan to record more videos showcasing multiple pilots with dedicated timers and virtual timers. :)

    I do not have any fpv system currently mounted, would it be worth any 5GHz fpv emission system even if it does not transmit anything?

    • @PIDflight
      @PIDflight  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      There should be no problem with using just a VTx without an FPV camera as the lap timing device is simply reading the RSSI of the VTx to trigger.

      It detects laps via the video transmitter on an FPV drone. Unless you're driving FPV then it will not work.

      Just add vtx to rc car and your good to go. You dont have to use the actual fpv just the tx.

      thanks for the reply.I have an idea, in each rc boat put this trasmitter ( m.banggood.com/Eachine-TX526-5_8G-40CH-25MW200MW600MW-Switchable-AV-Wireless-FPV-Transmitter-RP-SMA-Female-p-1083642.html?rmmds=detail-middle-buytogether-auto ) even if i haven't any streaming video to sending. Is it a good idea? Thanks

    • @PIDflight
      @PIDflight  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Alessio Mantineo That should definitely work, you could also get something like the Eachine VTX01 that's light weight (2.8g) and is limited to 25mW which is ideal power output for lap timing.

    So can you hook up to livetime fpv? And or use this firmware on the delta 5 set up for multiple channels and then hook it up to livetime?

    • @PIDflight
      @PIDflight  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have opened discussion with LiveTime regarding integration however I haven't heard anything back at this stage. In regards to Delta 5 compatibility, the same key components are used in the lap timing units -- however if you are using a PCB designed for the Delta 5 schematic it may not be compatible. Happy to look into it further if you could provide me with more specifics on your Delta 5 setup.
