This show is pure Fallout perfection, no notes. This could be Fallout 5 except your friend is holding the controller. Glad you're enjoying it, for me it holds up the whole way through and I can't wait for season 2
It really wasn't a misread point. It deserved being addressed and I'm glad Todd Howard did given it would make no sense otherwise. It's an error at least and something more nefarious at worst the fan base wasn't at fault for assuming given, well, most of the communication between the Fallout fan base and Bethesda. I'm just hoping this show will kick Bethesda in the tail and get them to make a new good single player title for the series that can avoid the weak main quest line problem they've had for two whole games now, at least.
@@Johaufs As long as Bethesda realizes fans actually care about the product and can make a better one then it's all worth it in the end. I can only hope Bethesda can ride this momentum and Fallout 5 becomes something actually good at this point.

Even without the scenario in this series, it makes sense even from a vault-tec perspective I can see some experiments where you have interconnected vaults. Like the one in fallout 4 far harbor with haves and have lots (but the have not side unfinished). Or one vault all children one vault all old people. The one in the series is also interesting, not going to give it away though (not really an experiment, but something intrinsically tied to vault tec)
Whats crazy is that power armor is mostly PRACTICAL! I mean of course its CG in some shots and theres definitely some wire work going on, but its impressive nonetheless.
Wow, I read the Gunslinger books ages ago, but yes, the Ghoul is exactly what Rowland would have been. Especially after a couple hundred years of aim practice.
Has anybody else noticed that the dude in the ghoul's gravedigging scene says have some respec, instead of have some respect? In a lot of RPG's in some instances you are able to pay (either in real currency or in game currency to respec a character. This means you have the ability to pay to reset all your stat points if your character build isn't working the way you want it to. Now considering The Ghoul goes from family man and loving father and husband, to ruthless mercenary, and considering some Fallout games feature a respec option, Fallout 4 being chief among them. I think this is an easter egg.
Actually the show was amazing these reviewers are just up their own asses and the timeline it does fit you'll find out later on whenever you continue with the shows. Also check out Todd's interview on the show.
Really? You buy Todd Howard's wishy washy excuse for the timeline screwup? The fact is, Bethesda has always treated non-Bethesda Fallout as unimportant.. so screwing up the events of New Vegas isn't a surprise.
This show absolutely nailed the feel of Fallout. Finished the show on Monday and I was so amazed at how good it was. And the Easter Eggs in every scene were a blast. Looking forward to seeing your reaction because one of you is has played the games. And you should find the time to play the first two. The gameplay is much different but it's fun.
Your reference to Roland Deschain had me speechless, not gonna lie! I keep reading the DT-Saga again and again, and i recommend you doing it too, because you´ll discover new stuff and connections every single time. Comparing Coop to Roland never came to my head, but now that you said it, it makes a lot of sense! Oh and i subbed, too^^
It helps that I'm currently reading it. Good timing. But yes my friend let me borrow 5 of them and I'm going through them quick! Couldn't help but compare.
I loved this show, it did such a great job. Arcane might be my favorite video-game adaptation but mostly out of just being one of the best pieces of animation I've seen; but Fallout is definitely the most faithful even down to little nods to gameplay. Prop and Set designers really did their research too!
@@smashbrandiscootch719 I watched it with that in mind but she's so good I just kept forgetting! giant eyeballs too, if I may add.. not in any negative way though!
One thing I've enjoyed is all of the familiar actors that didn't show up in the trailers, like Johnny Pemberton (cue airhorn), or Bubba from Forrest Gump (Honcho).
Ngl I was going to comment on Honcho because I recognized him but couldn't think of his name or where from. My mind during filming was only pulling Denzel Washington but I knew that wasn't right.
Live action avatar being "not great" is generous. That show was abysmal I literally laughed out loud at how cringe it was. Fallout was surprisingly really good and really faithful to the games.
I'll repeat something people loved to point out with the main characters: Lucy: Fallout 3 First Playthrough. Very Good Karma Howard: New Vegas 10th Playthrough. Vilified, has done every sidequest and DLC and just wants the world to burn.
The thing with the dates is that Fallout plays a lot with the idea that for a long time there was no reliable historical record. Like, most news agencies maintain archives of past reporting for the express purpose of maintaining a historical record. If that just… stopped… for half a century or more the actual historical records would become significantly less reliable. As such even what one finds out in the world has to be taken with a grain of salt.
Pay no mind to the New Vegas folks... they mean well but are always just a bit on edge in anticipation of a remaster. Glad you're enjoying the show, I think you'll have fun watching this.
I've read The Dark Tower Series 3x. Awesome series! And you're right, he does have that Roland attitude. I always pictured Clint Eastwood as Roland, but The Ghoul works as well.
The reason there was multiple blasts are because each nuclear missile launched will break open into about 6 Warheads that spread out on the way down to hit multiple targets
I definitely prefer watching reactions with fellow gamers who've played at least one Fallout. The non players tend to ask too many questions, masking the brilliantly written and acted dialogue . . .
Put in my first comment before finishing the video and dude! You're reading Dark Tower! Totally King's best work IMHO. Not only does it tie almost all his stories into a multiverse, Roland Deschain is one of the best written protagonist/Anti-heros, ever created. And the world building and character growth throughout... Just amazing. And since you like to read and seem to enjoy multi-layered stories I have a suggestion for you. Orson Scott Card's Ender Saga. Start with Ender's Game. After that, follow the other installments to the series. Then, follow all the other spinoff stories. I Think Orson Scott Card is to Sci-Fi what Stephen King is to horror.
Fallout is like watching someone else play a fallout game. Lots of plot twists. There was a HUGE bombshell that they dropped on us during the final. People complaining about the timeline are New Vegas Fans who hate that is related to Bethesda. Th show is one of the best shows I ever seen. Probably the best game to tv adaptation. Did they spoil what the timeline is about.
With post-apocoliptic shows, I tend to take the year with a grain of salt. In our current, modern society, there's still different years being observed by different cultures. How much more would this fragment without a uniform timekeeper?
If you like the "Dark Tower" series, you may like David Gemmell's "Jerusalem Man" series, which imho is WAY better and very apropos for Fallout ;) Starts with "The Last Guardian"
