I will never, ever, ever buy a phone without expandable storage. Ever. And a headphone jack is almost a deal-breaker too. I'm only now having to replace my current Galaxy S5 which has kept going for 7+ years, practically anything would be a huge upgrade for me. I sure AF don't care about the slight difference in chip speed or cameras between this and the flagships, *especially* not for double the cost.
The reason i subscribe to yaur chanel is you are willing to see the non flagship Smartphones. Other youtuber ore mostly blinded by the glorious S21 Ultra which is right on their own, but you *acknowledge* the mid ranger the most people will end up buying. I applaud you and thank you for this.

A well built , solid and reliable phone, screen 9/10 ram 9/10 processor 9/10 battery 9/10 double speakers, water resistant, the CAMERA absolutely amazing, and the software One UI really surprised me, I was a fan of stock Android but i really like this one. Great choice. The a52 5g is the better option than the a52 and a72 for the 5g variant had the Snapdragon 750g while the two only has the lower Snapdragon 720g if I'm not mistaken.

@@johnsecret1318 yeah i think the a72 is okay, but, you know how samsung phone works as months or years goes by, it can get a little bit of stuttering, lag often times or typical phone slowing down. But anyways congrats on the phone.
@@daveramn2267 lol no. I gave my A50 to my sister and it's updated compared to any midrange from other brands. I never experienced it lagging or slowing down until i used 90hz on my a72. Samsung gained my trust again after updating their devices fast and early compared to my redmi that has last update on october 2020. I'll never buy anything from xiaomi again.
Got an awesome blue 8gb 168gb variant. It's excellent. What a joy to use! This review is spot on with the cameras as well but here's something worth mentioning: Pro mode and Pro video. Use it. Night time on a tripod or stand, play with shutter speed and iso settings and take some great astrophotography with it. Excellent device
why? i never dropped any phone in water and I had the A50, and it has no water resistant and it got pretty wet sometime s in puring rain, but nothing happend

Absolutely great value for money phone. I was testing it for vlogging and it has blown my mind. 4k selfie camera and OIS makes is one of the best devices for video making.
@@1anfinity08 I have a dslr (which doesn't do 4k either) but I also never said I wanted to film in 4k. I only asked what the point of the resolution is if the whole video is shaky, due to the fps.

Watching this on an A52. I can afford a flagship but this works well enough for me. The mid level phones are now same quality as high end. You're paying mostly for name and a sleeker design. And just a couple other features if you spend $400 more. Worth it? No.
Hey Paul I like to share a comment about 4:30 the micro lens is actually quite desirable for work related pictures for engineers (like taking pictures of circuit boards printed information). I work in IT, and I very often use my phone as a tool to take pictures of barcodes or pictures of small technical info that can be found on the back of most hardware, yes I can use the regular lens but the focusing time is a hassle, with micro lens you don't have an issue focusing VERY close to small text, Micro is more of a working lens and is a desirable feature for some.

i've been using this phone (the 5g variant with a 120hz refresh rate and 6gb ram) for a few months and i have to say it's the best phone i've owned to this day, especially for the price. samsung really know how to make well-rounded devices. can't wait for this to get android 12!
@@Neehalmahfuz they're the same, but different in a couple of ways. doesn't have an always on display, lacks hdr but has a slightly improved cpu. I'd say it's still a pretty good buy!
I just got the 5g version it's cracked the camera is better, speakers are better, refresh rate is better. I have the Note 10 and I was surprised a phone for this price could beat a couple-year-old flagship. I would 100% recommend it.

Yes you`re right, the BackGround blurr effect is very good and creates a TrueBokeh effect normally found on expensive cameras that have a TrueDepthSensor allowing for a ProMode photography experience. Just received my A52 5G NorhAmerican model and to my delight it comes w 25Watt fast charger! Galaxy A52 5 G a truly Awesome phone indeed:)
The finger print sensor is different in S21 and A52 S21 has ultrasonic finger print sensor which more secure whereas A52 has optical finger print sensor which isn't as secure as what you get in S21.
I love my A52 but I wish it had 40W fast charging and wireless charging. I love the 25W charging but my friend showed me his 40W charging speed and it is a bit faster than mine. I did pay $400 for the 5G model, so I payed about a 3rd of the cost he paid for his Note 10 plus. I don't see much speed or screen quality differences, so I am happy with that. I don't care that much about camera stuff but I still want to take pictures and the A52 is good enough. Yeah I wish it was a little longer zoom and a bit better quality but it's better than any phone I had in the past, camera wise. I have a great camera for dedicated pictures, so I doubt any phone camera would beat my dedicated camera. I bought the phone because it had everything I needed but it was the right price and it was a plus to get a SD card slot and headphone jack. The charger was in the box as well. I have the stock 15w in my bedroom, for night charging and my 25w charger that I just got on black Friday, for when I have to go out but I need a quick few minutes to charge my phone. That's why I wish it had 40W or more but I don't need a battery bank as much since I bought the A52, so I am happy about that. I will probably need it in a few months, when the battery wears in though. I wish the phone also had 8 gigs of ram and the snap dragon 888 but with everything I wish it had, I wouldn't be able to afford it. I am happy it has a plastic back though cause I don't break screens, besides 1 screen that got ran over and the entire phone broke but I have cracked 3 backs of phones and 2 had cases. Plastic backs I don't have that issue with. My S7 was 1 of my backs I broke. That back broke completely apart.
My mother ordered the 5G version for me and it's coming at the end of the month, can't wait to finally trash my Galaxy J3 Emerge Edit: My phone's taking a bit longer than expected to come, so I won't be able to share what I think about it yet.

Nice review, though you forgot to mention that the 64mp sensor is the same one used in the Note 20 5g, and S20 FE series. It's a friggin flagship sensor in a mid range phone.
That's pretty trippy when you're watching a video on a phone you want, and the photo part has photos and videos of the city/town you live in! I'm currently eating fries from the Jack-in-the-Box on 1st and River lol.
A52 is half the price of S21, but neither A52 nor S21 are worth for the money the shops and a producer want for them... smartphones are not so revolutionary, we might even say that the quality decreased and some features are now missing in the flagships as well and we're ought to pay 2.5-3x more that just 3 years ago? this is madness!
😑 Yeah how I feel. I was good with my S8 lol it's been great until they started messing with with towers for the tmobile home internet. Now my phone losses signal in certain areas. I switched to a new 5g phone and those spots where my S8 lost signal the 5G goes down to 4G. Smh
Clean and neat video. Good job. Now talking about the phone. I bought the 5g series couple weeks ago. Casual user with more into productivity. Personally, what I like the most is the design. Consider my handling that quite small. The screen without a doubt one of the best out there for non flagship phone. Camera is decent. As describe by him. I never like the 'retouch' software from samsung by the way. Make a face photo too smooth to be true. Never want to test for water (poor people here). With a battery solid at least 30 h standby with casual purpose and sometimes use for tethering job. I don't think the refresh rate can be downgraded up to 60 Hz on 5g series even thought I have set up my screen rate lower. I still feel the 'buttery' operation which not happened on 60 Hz. I assume it still 90 Hz. Nonetheless, it is a good phone for who is looking for daily uses as college student or beginner level of professional I would say.

7:30 Also, no dedicated microSD slot as you can only put the microSD card in the SIM 2 slot unlike the A51 and A71. This would problem if you want to use SIM cards and a microSD card, and the phone's storage is up to 256GB.
So here's the big question. Do you want to wait for the Galaxy S21 FE, or just buy the Galaxy A52 instead if you want to upgrade to a new phone immediately? Only two things that are similar between the S21 FE and A52: 1. hybrid slot, no dedicated microSD slot 2. 256GB of storage memory I am a user of the Galaxy A71. Just saying.
both the 4g and 5g version have 8GB RAM variation of the phone. As well as no wireless charging, you also miss out on the NFC features. Just a couple of things missed!
This guy when said we dont get to see the charger and cable included in the box anymore, I felt bad for western countries where samsung and apple are selling top end devices and snatching away extra cash.
Eh, I think it's a non-issue. Most people have the chargers they need laying around, so why create more junk people don't need? It's wasteful. Also, if you can afford a $1000+ phone, paying $15 for a charger will be no big deal, especially since they can re-use that charger for their next phone and any other devices they have around.
I have an A52 5G phone which I am delighted with and impressed with the Battery life too. However SAMSUNG, you let the SAMSUNG Team down by supplying a pathetically short charging wire with the phone. Hope this is "lesson-learned" for the future.
Midrange phones between $200 and $400 meet the needs of most users. Flagship phones are not necessary. The midrange phones of today have the same picture quality as older flagship phones
Thinking of getting this one and finally replace my A5 2017. My storage space is running out. On top of my history with dropping phone into water and dropping them. This seems like a good choice.
I just got this 4g model yesterday, was not planning to buy one at all, as I am very happy with my Huawei p30 pro. Then I was just scrolling through fb and stuble across one for what equals to 187$, used for a month.
I just got the A52 5G last week, switched from iPhone 12 mini and so far I'm enjoying it thoroughly. Only complaint so far is that I cannot find a lot of cases in stores, so I recommend getting one online before you have one arrive or go pick it up.
I'm on the hunt for a new phone. In your honest and expert opinion which phone has the the most flexible and versatile cameras system with the overall better quality, more natural photos and videos for the front & rear cameras: the OnePlus Nord or the A52 5G?

It is like reviewing the A32 but also the A52 has developer option like any other phone and a feature available in the developer option is sRGB which mean that it make the colors appear way better.

A52: does it have the O2 and pulse sensor that previous phones had. My Samsung Health will NOT check my O2 or pulse from the phone, it wants my watch. I have health issues and sometimes an not wearing my watch when I need to do a quick check. Thoughts, tips, help?? Great review. I'd say it's at least comparable to my S9+ which no longer will be getting system updates to future Android builds. The specs were also fairly comparable to flagship phones but at half the cost...as you said some minor changes such as the chipset, but nothing that is a deal breaker.
I got one coming from a s10+.. initial thoughts vs old phone was camera focus on close ups etc not as good and colours on the screen look a bit more cartooney and colourful and less flat which some people might like. Otherwise a great phone and for the price very impressive.
just bought the A52 and thinking of sending it back as the camera seems to be quite poor quality.... Macro shots are even worse than the ones I took with my 6 yrs old S5 mini

Just bought this and am static. The only thing I didn't like was t-mobile charging me $30 for upgrade. Sadly I was sold out everywhere else including best buy
for me I was going to choose the S22 ultra BUT then I found out they took out the expandable storage and headphone jack😯I been using the Note since the Note 2 and I was not happy they took the name away but to leave out these other functions is making Samsung be like Apple😐 i wanted the S20 Ultra since had expandable storage but was too late to get it..so I saw the A52 and liked was waterproof, expandable storage and headphone jack..time went by and saw S20 Ulrra out again as refurbished but saw it was not waterproof ..went down to best buy to ask why..he said once its refurbished the phone seal not will not be the same..so I got the A52 and love it except not got S-pen
Watching this, it would have helped if you had compared the photo’s taken with another of the same price. As the a52, rather than the twice range the iphone 12 has. BTW. I am planning to use the a52 as my work phone , and just bought 14 days ago the iphone 12 pro max and use it as my private phone. And you keep mentioning the s21, but that is slso a flagship phone, while this a52 is a midrange. One.

Water resistant is just a gimmick, it's completely rare to accidentally drop a phone on water, i think the splash resistant is just enough.

I wish the phone also had 8 gigs of ram and the snap dragon 888 but with everything I wish it had, I wouldn't be able to afford it. I am happy it has a plastic back though cause I don't break screens, besides 1 screen that got ran over and the entire phone broke but I have cracked 3 backs of phones and 2 had cases. Plastic backs I don't have that issue with. My S7 was 1 of my backs I broke. That back broke completely apart.
My mother ordered the 5G version for me and it's coming at the end of the month, can't wait to finally trash my Galaxy J3 Emerge

Nice job on the review ...You compared it to the S 21 many times it would be cool if you just put them next to each other so we could see the size difference and so that’s the one thing I would’ve done that’s different but besides that a really good job
Nice review, though you forgot to mention that the 64mp sensor is the same one used in the Note 20 5g, and S20 FE series. It's a friggin flagship sensor in a mid range phone.
That's pretty trippy when you're watching a video on a phone you want, and the photo part has photos and videos of the city/town you live in! I'm currently eating fries from the Jack-in-the-Box on 1st and River lol.
Why is Samsung so bad?
A52 is half the price of S21, but neither A52 nor S21 are worth for the money the shops and a producer want for them... smartphones are not so revolutionary, we might even say that the quality decreased and some features are now missing in the flagships as well and we're ought to pay 2.5-3x more that just 3 years ago? this is madness!
😑 Yeah how I feel. I was good with my S8 lol it's been great until they started messing with with towers for the tmobile home internet. Now my phone losses signal in certain areas. I switched to a new 5g phone and those spots where my S8 lost signal the 5G goes down to 4G. Smh

I bought the 5g series couple weeks ago.
Casual user with more into productivity. Personally, what I like the most is the design. Consider my handling that quite small. The screen without a doubt one of the best out there for non flagship phone. Camera is decent. As describe by him. I never like the 'retouch' software from samsung by the way. Make a face photo too smooth to be true. Never want to test for water (poor people here). With a battery solid at least 30 h standby with casual purpose and sometimes use for tethering job. I don't think the refresh rate can be downgraded up to 60 Hz on 5g series even thought I have set up my screen rate lower. I still feel the 'buttery' operation which not happened on 60 Hz. I assume it still 90 Hz. Nonetheless, it is a good phone for who is looking for daily uses as college student or beginner level of professional I would say.

7:30 Also, no dedicated microSD slot as you can only put the microSD card in the SIM 2 slot unlike the A51 and A71. This would problem if you want to use SIM cards and a microSD card, and the phone's storage is up to 256GB.
So here's the big question.
Do you want to wait for the Galaxy S21 FE, or just buy the Galaxy A52 instead if you want to upgrade to a new phone immediately?
Only two things that are similar between the S21 FE and A52:
1. hybrid slot, no dedicated microSD slot
2. 256GB of storage memory
I am a user of the Galaxy A71. Just saying.
both the 4g and 5g version have 8GB RAM variation of the phone. As well as no wireless charging, you also miss out on the NFC features. Just a couple of things missed!
This guy when said we dont get to see the charger and cable included in the box anymore, I felt bad for western countries where samsung and apple are selling top end devices and snatching away extra cash.
Eh, I think it's a non-issue. Most people have the chargers they need laying around, so why create more junk people don't need? It's wasteful. Also, if you can afford a $1000+ phone, paying $15 for a charger will be no big deal, especially since they can re-use that charger for their next phone and any other devices they have around.

I have an A52 5G phone which I am delighted with and impressed with the Battery life too. However SAMSUNG, you let the SAMSUNG Team down by supplying a pathetically short charging wire with the phone. Hope this is "lesson-learned" for the future.
Midrange phones between $200 and $400 meet the needs of most users. Flagship phones are not necessary. The midrange phones of today have the same picture quality as older flagship phones

It is like reviewing the A32 but also the A52 has developer option like any other phone and a feature available in the developer option is sRGB which mean that it make the colors appear way better.

A52: does it have the O2 and pulse sensor that previous phones had. My Samsung Health will NOT check my O2 or pulse from the phone, it wants my watch. I have health issues and sometimes an not wearing my watch when I need to do a quick check. Thoughts, tips, help??
Great review. I'd say it's at least comparable to my S9+ which no longer will be getting system updates to future Android builds. The specs were also fairly comparable to flagship phones but at half the cost...as you said some minor changes such as the chipset, but nothing that is a deal breaker.

I got one coming from a s10+.. initial thoughts vs old phone was camera focus on close ups etc not as good and colours on the screen look a bit more cartooney and colourful and less flat which some people might like. Otherwise a great phone and for the price very impressive.
just bought the A52 and thinking of sending it back as the camera seems to be quite poor quality.... Macro shots are even worse than the ones I took with my 6 yrs old S5 mini

for me I was going to choose the S22 ultra BUT then I found out they took out the expandable storage and headphone jack😯I been using the Note since the Note 2 and I was not happy they took the name away but to leave out these other functions is making Samsung be like Apple😐 i wanted the S20 Ultra since had expandable storage but was too late to get it..so I saw the A52 and liked was waterproof, expandable storage and headphone jack..time went by and saw S20 Ulrra out again as refurbished but saw it was not waterproof ..went down to best buy to ask why..he said once its refurbished the phone seal not will not be the same..so I got the A52 and love it except not got S-pen
The a52 pictures look way better than the ones from the iPhone. More light doesn't mean more clear.

Watching this, it would have helped if you had compared the photo’s taken with another of the same price. As the a52, rather than the twice range the iphone 12 has. BTW. I am planning to use the a52 as my work phone , and just bought 14 days ago the iphone 12 pro max and use it as my private phone.
