I hope Genn will be around a long while. Crazy to think he’s the last king still alive from the era before Lordaeron’s fall, he ruling Gilneas during the era of peace before Arthas was born.
I always found Gilneas and Genn interesting when it came to the lore, as he was the one who was the most guarded and defensive when it came to the events that unfolded around Azeroth. He only gave token support to the Alliance in the first place, and built a wall because he had the foresight to protect his people from very real threats; and to his credit Gilenas was the last Eastern Kingdom to fall to ruin. Stormwind, Lorderon, Dalaran, Stromgarde, and Alterac all fell before Gilenas did. Course Graymane's kingdom did fall in the end, and he was forced to lean on others that he spent many years rejecting. That he lived and all of his peers died meant that his wisdom did essentially win out and ended up being the man who would foster Anduin's growth as a king. For all that the man has been through Genn certainly could use a vacation at the very least. With all of the tragic figures in WoW it seems like he's the one who's the closet to having what could be considered a happy ending.
Genn is finally getting some closure as much as one can after losing a child. I doubt he'll EVER forgive Sylvanas for what she did (and nobody would blame him), but to see him and Gilneas finally get to come home is so... meaningful. Gilneas stands tall once again!
And yet Tess is ready to feed his sense of guilt, blaming him for having ignored her when she wasn't even a character until Legion. Genn is far from his prime but still fit for the throne, this step down feels forced.

And like the irredeemable rotter she is, she did so anyway, making Gilneas uninhabitable for several years. Yeah the Gilneans have plenty of reasons to hate the undead.
@@daankeizer4469also killed Liam in the process but we can't hate Sylvanas for that because she's the perfect character and did nothing wrong. Genn at least deserved some closure and pulling a Kerrigan on a war criminal was wrong.
It doesn't matter if they were ordered to do it, the fact remains it's their hands on the proverbial trigger. Doesn't matter how hard someone tells you to do something, you have to be willing to do it to actually do it, and the consequences for doing it are on you. They're not mindless automotons, they have wills of their own, and if it truly went against their will they wouldn't have done it to begin with, but it simply wasn't. They are still responsible.
I wouldn't say that. The Undead are still in shambles after BFA, and they simply cannot push back the Gilneas forces. It's not about who is the villain or the good guy, is realpolitik, being realistic. The Horde has been on the brink of extinction again, divided by civil war, and this is just a logical consequence of the situation. I found the cooperation between undead and gilneans forced, as it is having established the Scarlet Crusade as the common straw enemy again.
What a rubbish quest. I'm glad I didn't spend any money on dragonblight. This xpac has exactly the petty quality that the devs are willing to do for anything that includes ally. It's incredible how Blizzard tries to be extremely disappointing. It wasn't enough to emasculate Greymane and the Worgen with Tessa's story. They had to make Gilneas need the Forsaken freaks. And everything was done quickly. Couldn't we have done it ourselves? No. Let's beg for help from those responsible for all the shit. And we'll do you the favor of solving their problem with the Scarlet Crusade. Was it very difficult for us to do it ourselves? No! By the time it was finished, the ally's NPCs were less than 20. A few souls. That heirloom armor that looks like a butler's outfit is ridiculous. Tess' quest decreasing the worgen and now this. All that was left was Genn to plead with. A disappointment for those who expected something genious was only to paint the forsaken friends of the neighborhood and Glneas as poor things who need to be saved by their tormentors. I wanted to send some insults to those responsible but I can't. HAVE MERCY.
meh boring would have been cool to have Genn be king. Now he just going to be a random soft side character after years of building his character up. Yup, 30 seconds into the questline and he turned total soy, asking 2 strong women for help even tho he wanted this for so many years. Blue haired weridos took over. Look how badass genn was vs sylvanas… WoW is lame as fuck now (at least the threadmill is better in df).
Its so lame to see the horde and alliance get along, the game is literally called "world of warcraft" not "world of friendship". This is probably one of the core reasons the game isnt thriving anymore, theyve killed faction pride.
Faction war is literally the worst part of Warcraft. Both MoP and BFA were much worse off for having it front and center. Faction war can never be resolved in a satisfying manner, because it's an MMORPG, and both Alliance and Horde have to go on existing pretty much the same, no matter what.
@@ПетрПетров-о6ъ9н I respectfully disagree, Classic WoW today is extremely popular, and it centers itself around faction conflict. I just think Danuser and certain writers ruined the storyline....
@@ПетрПетров-о6ъ9нHow was MoP worse for having the faction war be a big part of it? It was the expansion to do it the best, I loved the Horde vs Alliance conflict and many people shared the same sentiment.
I grew out of faction conflict years ago, after seeing how childishly some people acted over it (and yes, I used to be one of them). While healthy rivalry isn't bad, the thing that people who are upset about this seem to forget is that this isn't the first time the Alliance and the Horde have teamed up. Hell, every single expansion has ended with them teaming up against a bigger bad (including the ones that were about the faction conflict), than establishing a truce for a short while, until they go back to killing each other. If they kept continuing this repetetive cycle over and over again while not trying to learn from it, the story would be an even bigger mess than it already is. Even the expansions that are about "faction pride" have characters continuously point out how stupid both the Horde and the Alliance are for continuing to kill each other when they have bigger things to worry about. Also, saying that factions getting along removes "War" from "Warcraft" is somewhat silly when considering the fact that every WoW expansion has the Horde and the Alliance warring against a third faction, which changes every expac, while their own rivalries mostly happen in the background.
Too bad after retaking the city it's still just an empty zone not full of NPCs and auction house or anything. That and the stupid soap opera display we seem to keep getting in current cinematics.
Finally! They are going back to the Gilneas storyline which is much better than that awful Dragonflight storyline and has the most unique music theme I have heard.

Garrosh ordered Sylvannas to take Gilneas, yes. What he absolutely didn’t do though, is order her to use blight. As a matter of fact, he directly FORBADE her from doing so.
Tess isn't even a Worgen, having her being leader of the worgen be like having Andhin leader of the forsaken. At least calia is undead!
Not leader of “Worgen”, leader of Gilneas
@@fabianjimenez4482 Bro, even most Gilnean players are WORGEN, so it is not a huge difference actually.....
I mean, who else should be the ruler? Gilneas is a monarchy and Tess is Genn's only living heir so ofc she would become its next ruler
Its his own sons fault on how he died.
Apparently only Horde loses anything in the faction wars...
"Shades of grey" my ass. We're back in WCII narration of Alliance=good, Horde=bad
Genn got woked and sidelined.
HAVE MERCY.
4:15 every single time they just leave instead killing the enemy LOL Such silly and bad writing what the hell???
meh boring would have been cool to have Genn be king. Now he just going to be a random soft side character after years of building his character up. I starting to see all the characters in the game are the same person with no unique personalities. The all overly emotional and talk about their feelings the whole time.
Yup, 30 seconds into the questline and he turned total soy, asking 2 strong women for help even tho he wanted this for so many years. Blue haired weridos took over. Look how badass genn was vs sylvanas… WoW is lame as fuck now (at least the threadmill is better in df).
Aulgh! CrinGilneas
Who the fuck replaced the original voice actor for genn?
No one, he's voiced by Cameron Folmar, same dude who's voiced him since Cataclysm.
Its so lame to see the horde and alliance get along, the game is literally called "world of warcraft" not "world of friendship".
This is probably one of the core reasons the game isnt thriving anymore, theyve killed faction pride.
Nearly every war in WoW was an invasion from some other force, the horde and alliance squabbles are mostly an afterthought.
The same people that wrote DF wrote the new Gilneas stuff, I don't see how that's cause for anything but dread.
For the Alliance!
Have you already thanked the Horde for their help? Because nothing was done by ally. We had to watch the damn Horde come and save Gilneas for Ally's beggars.
@@celiovicenteribeirofilho9740 we dont have to. This was their thanks for the Alliance helping them reclaim Lordeaeron. The debt was paid in full long ago.
ofc another female character to replace a male character

Lmao, even Genn had to be replaced by a badass boss babe that don't need no man. Wtf is Blizzard even doing? Do they not realize the pendulum has swung to the opposite direction? There are literally zero male characters that aren't sociopaths, villains, or subservient betas. Yikes.
ur a badass bossbabe
