    If you use a griffon radiator, you don’t need to cut the core support. It fits perfect in the opening with 1/4” truck cap mounting foam.

    I love the header recommendation.
    I've never seen that before, except with Jeep 4.0 manifolds. Jeep does it to keep the manifold, which is really a header, from cracking due to thermal expansion.
    I also laughed when the trucker flipped you off right as you were filming him.

      @@paxhumana2015 I haven't had first hand experience with it, but I would really say that the frame and everything is the same on the frame wise with the engine.

    This information is really similar to what ive learned about the 1st gen 350 swap in the jags swap manual, they stress the first 2 talking points in their book, seems it applys in the next gen as well

      I did the swap . Hamburgers ls swap pan , modified truck manifolds is what I found to work best . Got my mounts and power steering bracket from dirty dingo .

    Use a Corvette front runner setup on the front of the motor makes life way easier and you can keep the radiator in the stock location.

    If you do the motor and transmission together jack the rear of the vehicle up a couple feet then you don’t have to mess with cab mounts it will go right in

    i used my truck oil pan,notched the belly,works fine does stick down a lil farther,and i used the flowtech long tubes 1 7/8 went on pretty easy but they do wrap around the frame,but 450.00 vs 8,9,or 1200.00 lol works for me

      You may need a whooping device to clearance a couple spots and bend the pinch welds in

    Do you know you can put a pry bar in that water pump neck and turn it. It's just a steel pipe that's Pressed in and with enough force you can clock it any direction you want without cutting it

    Gen IV truck water pumps are already a virtual spout so you don't have to cut it, just fyi.

    I love this truck and I'm planning on a s10 project street/strip. I haven't decided if I want to do an old sbc or a ls swap. I'm not sure if you did a video on what it costs roughly for a ls swap + parts that would be awesome if you could or would. I fully understand if you don't want to put all your info out there or mods. But I'm just looking for a rough guess. I found a nice chassis with no engine or trans so less work for me.

      Old school sbc is a little less $ and a little easier but if you put 3-5k in the engine and drivetrain with an LS you can make 500hp super reliably

    Do you do the 2.2 the same way as far as wiring as the 4.3 I got a 2.2 5 speed wanting to convert it to a 5.3 with a 350th trans with a 3000 stall easiest Way to wire it with out the transmission wires and will it work with out hooking them up to program the motor

    I have a 1996 short bed stock rear suspension minus the overload spring with soon to be caltracs…what size slick can I install on a 15x8 wheel with ? Backspacing factory wheel looks like 4.5” backspace and appears I could move it in more…brand of slick recommend also, for weekend track visits only …thinking Hoosier or MT maybe 28-9.5-15 ? Thanks

    Is the firewall openings the same between an AC truck and a non-AC truck? In other words, does the firewall have to be modified to install a non-AC heater box?

      This truck was once an AC truck, the non AC box was a direct fit. No modifications needed.

    I’m using the ctsv pan but complete crossmember is cut out and chromoly tube welded across, and I was wonder if you could shed some light on driver side fuse panel n stuff mines all there still n want it all gone what needs to be done any help would be appreciated but it’s a 2001 tho.

    Did just the opposite on mine I put the stock 4 cyl. Out of the s10 into my 2005 4wd ext cab long bed silverado dually with a work box and welder rig on the back, i get away with this using a 2 speed power glide . I'm running 25s in the quarter mile and get nearly 22 mpg, well worth the power loss.

    I have a 2002 S10 ZQ8 X-cab ready to do this swap...
    #1 Why did you go with a modified Ford 8.8 instead of using a 8.6 S10 ZQ8 rear?
    #2 Ive heard S10 Blazer gas tanks can be used behind the Diff w/ the Spare tire carrier removed...You know anything??
    #3 Do you think there is enough room to retain the condenser in front of the radiator with the way you moved it forward?
    #4 Ive watched your vids several times each..and hang on every word..because ive been intersted for several years in doing this swap. But everyone seems to cut their frames and crush the firewall to stuff it in..Dont wanna tear up my Baby!

      S series trucks didn't have a 8.6 rear end. The biggest they came with was a 8.5 and that only came with the ZR2 package

      @@beardedforlife3740 ..Sorry my friend, mine has the 8.5 Limited Slip diff with the Anti-hop shock. It was an option for these ZQ8 trucks. Or maybe mine is a unicorn, if you need to justify it in your mind with your information. But, I've never swapped the rear out of it..and it loves to spin both rears. Hence, the reason I don't drive it in the snow or rain. Bought a KIA for that shitshow.

    So does the stock transmission in these bolt right up to the 5.3/6.0?? I’ve got a 2.2L 5 speed manual 98. Very curious about it cuz I can get an LM7 or and old 6.0 for pretty damn cheap. I know the 2.2L’s are pretty much just an LS cut in half so very curious on the bell housing/clutch situation! Maybe I’ll do this swap over the winter if the 5 speed will bolt up

      Pretty sure you have to get an adapter for the 2.2 manual transmission to bolt up

      You can also use a 08 hummer h3 Alfa 5.3 oil pan. I used that on mine. No clearance issues

      Currently it is on coming from the main feed. On the old set up it pulled from the rail.

    Currently building a L33 5.3 out of a 2007 Buick Rainier and using a Hanburger's oil pan. The factory dipstick goes into the oil pan, the new pan doesn't allow this and I'll have to use the hole in the block. Do you think the stock dip stick will work and give me the correct oil level? Or is there a better aftermarket dipstick?

      I am using the muscle car oil pan, and my dipstick is actually broken. I think a stock dipstick would work, but I think the oil level would be more than is in the pan.

      There were a couple spots that had to be clearances with a whooping device. And the pinch welds at the bottom of the cab and fire wall bent back.

      The majority of it yes, I believe the long tubes are a touch different. I could be wrong.

      Yep you can. There’s a A/C box you can get from Hooker that makes a lot of room. And you can get some A/C compressor relocation mounts too. I follow lots of trucks on Instagram that have A/C.

    Yea you had a hot air intake in that picture. A lot of people make that mistake and think it looks cool. Take out a perfectly working factory cold air intake and put those gay conical filters right in the heat
