    So I don’t know if you still read this but I do like the video even though it frustrated me more than it should, not because I’m learning but rather finding out my lyre is 19 strings and in reverse. So instead low to high it’s high to low. So it’s making learning more difficult since my pinao is low to high. (Low on left hand side with high on the right hand side.) so it’s just weird and different. Maybe mines is just weird or maybe I’m just slow. Still like the video though.

    • @SamanthaonMars
      @SamanthaonMars  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Your lyre is strung like a harp, and it's a preferred choice for those who either play the harp or plan to transition to it. I understand the frustration though; I have a lyre like that too! The positive thing is that the notes remain the same, so you can still follow the notes in my videos by referring to the notes on your lyre. Thank you for watching my video and for commenting. I hope it get easier for you.

    • @SamanthaonMars
      @SamanthaonMars  ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you know if it's a pentatonic lyre? If yes, you don't need to follow any tutorials. Just play the strings randomly. You can sometimes pick two strings at the same time. Create your own rhythm. The great thing about pentatonic instruments is they sound harmonious no matter how you play it.

    • @jcraigwilliams70
      @jcraigwilliams70 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SamanthaonMars I honestly have no idea. I'm not even sure how to tell. I had hoped for sheet music, though, to learn some actual songs rather than just my own random plucking. I'll find something eventually, I imagine.

    For sound of silence am I using the d4?
    Also,.I just purchased a brand new lyre from Amazon by some company called cega
    The darn thing won't stay in tune !!!! Ive spent accumulated 2.5 hours trying to tune it. As soon as it's tuned it goes out after a few strings are played.
    Can you help!?
    And thank you for tutorial. So excited to eventually begin.

    • @SamanthaonMars
      @SamanthaonMars  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep, the Sound of Silence starts at D4.
      Haha, you sound so much like me when I started the lyre. Tuning was a struggle because the strings were new. The strings need time to stretch out and settle. Usually it takes about a week of daily tuning to feel a difference. After that they'll hold their pitch much better.
