      @AbbyBReviewing I returned the Venu 3S and went with the Vivomove sport, I just love the green sage color and the lightweight design. Although it doesn't have a way to track tennis, I think it's a great pick for my first Garmin. The hidden touch screen is really cool!

    Wish you can help. Its May 4, 2024. I set my watch to indicate pulse on the face. It shows th e information, but once I get in the swimming pool, the face only shows the hour. I want to see my pulse while doing pool excercise.

    • @AbbyBReviewing
      @AbbyBReviewing  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hello, this watch does not have an always on display, so it will time out regularly, not allowing you to view pulse continuously. And as this is a touch screen watch, you can not use the touch screen functionality properly while is very wet and under water. And the water can accidentally activate the touch screen making it hard to get to the pulse section your looking for. I haven't swam with this one on but have with button operated Garmin watches (ex Fenix 6S, forerunner 255s) and did not have that issue with those watches. As the screens dont activate by touch, but by buttons so the water didn't affect that, and they have an always on display that shows pulse continuously.

    Been watching many of your review videos as I'm looking to buy a smartwatch for my wife. I'm down to 2 options and curious of your opinion having done videos for both watches. Which would you take if price was removed from equation: Garmin Lily or Vivomove Sport and why? Thank you so much!

    • @AbbyBReviewing
      @AbbyBReviewing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Hi Mike, out of the two I would take the Vivomove Sport simply as I prefer the design, and it has a better battery life (both say up to 5 days but I got better battery life with the Vivomove). Also, consider if your wife is tech proficient or not and if she would benefit from or need a larger text on her smartwatch as the Garmin Lily is easier to use, and has larger text so easier to read. Hope that helps :)

    • @AbbyBReviewing
      @AbbyBReviewing  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hello! They both provide a similar experience, and I recommend both. I prefer the Vivomove Sport for the design & price! And I dont use the wireless charging much on the Trend, which is one of it's newest features.

    • @AlenaWinter-lf9mz
      @AlenaWinter-lf9mz 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@AbbyBReviewing thank you! That's so good to know. Do you think the tracking metrics e.g. heart rate, sleep, HRV are as accurate in the Sport, being an older model? Also do you know how the durability of the glass would compare on them both? And I heard the Sport can be hard to see in daylight, how noticeable is that compared to the Trend?

    • @AlenaWinter-lf9mz
      @AlenaWinter-lf9mz 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@AbbyBReviewing Oh and also you don't find the one screen on the Sport limiting vs the 2 on the Trend? And thank you again for your time answering my questions, I searched comparison videos and found just ones that seemed AI generated, it's so nice to find this channel run by a human!

    • @AbbyBReviewing
      @AbbyBReviewing  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @AlenaWinter-lf9mz a smartwatch being older from Garmin, is no big deal, they are great with offering updates years and years after release. And as they've been leading the pack in activity tracking, heart rate, and battery life for like 10+ years so even older watches are still great options, especially at thier lower price points.
      Neither have HRV, heart rate is good on both, sleep tracking is average not great on both. I find the display on the Vivomove sport easier to read indoors, both can be hard to read in bright sunlight outdoors but are readable to me (you can see examples of it in thr sun in this video, and the Vivomove Trend in the sun can be seen in my Vivomove Trend Review). They have the same lens glass material and durability, both have a good durability if you take care of them in my opinion. I personally dont find the display limiting on the Vivomove sport, but if you want to be able to see more data at once, the Vivomove Trend does offer that with its larger display.

    • @AbbyBReviewing
      @AbbyBReviewing  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Alvin, it holds up pretty well, and should last a long time! Garmin watches are great for durability in my experience! Of course wear & tear will vary deping on your individual usage but you'll most likely see normal signs of use overtime ex. band pattern fading a bit, possible scratches or scuffs on the watch case and/or on the screen(or no scratches if you use a screen protector, which I always do). For ex. I've had a Garmin watch for almost 3 years and it's still going strong.

    I know it's waterproof, but do you know if it would be suitable for surfing considering the salt water? I'm asking as it states waterproof for swimming pools?
    Thanks in advance

    • @AbbyBReviewing
      @AbbyBReviewing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Cindie, it's fine to use in salt water you just need to make sure to rinse it throughly with fresh water afterwards. But the Vivomove Sport has a water rating of 50m|5atm and is not made for for high speed water sports like surfing. The Fenix 6/7 series however is made to withstand activities like surfing it has a much stronger band and water rating of 100m|10atm it can even track surfing for you as a workout. And I have reviews on the Fenix 6S and 7S if your interested.

    • @AbbyBReviewing

      Hello! this watch does not have built-in GPS, it relies on your smartphone's GPS for outdoor activities. You will get heart rate data, and see your route(After a workout once you sync your watch to the Garmin phone app) but you, need an external speed/cadence sensor for accurate speed data.

    Is it possible to change which workouts are available on the watch with the app? I most frequently walk, weightlift, and do general aerobics. I think I saw the first two, but not sure about the third. Alternatively, is there a way to log activity manually in the Garmin app? I track fitness for work and like to keep it as easy as possible. I currently use a Charge 3, but want to go away from Fitbit and don't like the limited band options on the Vivofit 5, so I was thinking of going with the Vivomove instead since the price is pretty similar to a current Charge.

    Hey Abby! Great review, thanks for sharing!
    I was curious if you ever had issues with skin burning/irritating from this watch (or similar).
    I have just got the Garmin Venu 2s and seriously considering to return it, or maybe change it with this one...I don't like the fact that the sensor is working non-stop and basically after a couple of hours, I got a small irritation resembling a burn right where the sensor is placed which disappeared after more than one hour. Normally I get only pressure marks which disappear in a few minutes. I deactivated the auto sensor and seems the skin doesn't get burned anymore, just pressure marks. So basically the smart watch becomes useless because it doesn't track most of the basic stuff :)
    I was wondering if the vivomove has a more user-controlled settings, if you can set it to show pulse, oxygen, etc. just on demand, I like that it's hybrid and more simple, I realised I don't need most of the smartwatch stuff (such as payment) and the price is considerably better.

    • @AbbyBReviewing
      @AbbyBReviewing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hello Doroteea, I do have sensitive skin and haven't gotten any irritation from the Venu 2S or this watch but of course everyone is different. I have experienced irritations and burning/warm sensations from some Fitbits I have used in the past though so I understand that uncomfortable feeling.
      On the Venu 2S and Vivomove you can check pulse ox on demand, but you do not have more user controlled settings on the Vivomvoe thiers less options in fact. And a work around for heart rate would be to turn it on for a minute then turn it off to get a on demand heart rate reading.
      If the issue persists you may want to try a different smartwatch such as the Garmin Vivomove Sport, or Vivoactive 4S as those heart rate sensors are made of different materials than the Venu 2s, so hopefully you wouldn't get a reaction.

      Update :)
      I actually kept the venu 2s to try it for a few days, it's been already 6 and I might keep it for good! It seems that it doesn't actually burn or irritate the skin at all, I think it was just a first time use, maybe I was a bit bloated so the red pressure marks stayed longer, because now I don't get anything concerning! I even slept with it to try the monitoring, kept it on my wrist almost non stop and it's all good regarding that matter. One note though is that I moved it to the left hand, as I noticed it counts more steps if I keep it on the right - my dominant hand. Maybe the skin on the right hand is also more sensitive, but it doesn't really make any sense! :D
