As a finely aged nerd, with a job and stuff, let me tell you waiting for your seasonal videos is worth it every time. For me the season starts after your summary.
I second this. I just don't have the time to try out all the new anime. Between work, school, two kids, and everything in between, I only have time for maybe one or two shows a season.
I fourth this. I'm in my 40s now (yuck) and don't have as much spare time as I did when I was younger. I can't spend whole days watching every anime to find shows I like. I appreciate that MB has more mature taste for the most part and recommends shows that have more substance rather than just hyping the mainstream shounen series, and dime a dozen Isekai like many other channels.
Days with my Stepsister sold me when it spent a solid minute or so in a deeply uncomfortable long shot from the front door into a silent apartment as the sister -- spending her first night there -- goes in and out of frame trying to figure out how to turn out the hallway lights. It's completely plot irrelevant, but so perfectly captures the unsettling wrongness of being in an unfamiliar space that you're expected to treat like it's home from now on.
that one is an interesting take on the no blood related sister and brother where you dont know if it would lead to romance or they will go into that area of them behaving like proper brother and sister. last episode clearly show that at least the brother is trying to keep it more family oriented. It also lack the quirkiness that normally happen in these show with that sort of storytelling. much appreciated. So so far i am sticking to watching that one.
i was sold on in it because i could totally see with the current culture and society pressure the two charecters are very realistic and relatable. along with the negetive undertones that real life has .

thank you for this. I don't know why we can't get this valuable information in the video description. it's so important to have the names of these shows to be able to find them and watch them. This has been an ongoing issue for a long time and it's yet to be addressed or resolved, but thanks for the time you took to make it, i appreciate it.
Honestly, I get super bummed when I see one of those, "I watched everything", only for it to be trailers before the season starts. Thanks for taking the time to actually watch them all and do it justice!
The best part of No Longer Allowed in Another World has definitely gotta be how serious the show itself takes its main character. It's not all bits and gags about him wanting to kill himself, but it has moments of quiet contemplation and beauty.
@@theflamingeagle572 with tensei the guy wants the good things in life. this guy legit thinks the double death would have been his happiest moment in life.
The best part about it is the commitment to the bit, specifically, having Truck-Kun STILL be the violent menace of the multiverse even that far back in time.
The performace of the main character is easily the high point of the show. I'd say it carries it, but it's too good in other ways to disrespect it like that
Been watching for a while, a decade maybe? This is my first comment. The incredible skill and care that goes into every video is outstanding. Fully aware that this comment will never be seen but it feels wrong to go any further without saying it. You inspire creators. Your work is superb. The effort shows. Thank you for everything.
I concur. These videos are so useful to figure out whats worth checking out without having to go in completely blind, and i usually find something I completely love every season from these videos. Thank you Mr. Basement for guiding me through the world of anime
I run an anime club.... I greatly use your 'ones to watch' vids to show something new to my peeps. I greatly appreciate all of your insight for all of them.
our anime group likes to do a marathon every season, where we watch ep1 of everything new- it takes about 10h (sometimes 16) and it's a lot of fun, because no one knows what to expect, and because there is so much weird stuff and trash out there. The most fun are shows, where we are not the target audience.
Senpai is a Otonoko was an incredible Webtoon and I'm glad it got an Anime adaptation. Sure it is definitely a love story to some degree and has many comedic bits. However, I would argue that it's truly a coming of age story about 3 highschool students working toward loving and accepting themselves along with eachother, while fighting against societal pressure to act a certain way to please the masses. Especially Makoto who struggles with his identity due to his love of dressing femininely and liking "girly things", but the other two have their own struggles themselves related with eachother and themselves inside. There are so many deeply emotional moments that made me tear up when I read them. It can be so eerily relatable it can break your heart. It is so much more than meets the eye.
kinda sad how degenerate the reception it got tho. no one really want to talk about gender identity seriously, because only a minority of people experience it. a good bunch of people i see easily throws it to the 'trap anime' bin, and constantly memes about it. don't get me wrong, i'm glad it's getting attention, but it's not what i expected; especially seeing how insensitive a lot of the comments are.
@@keconto6536anime is not the right place for the gender thingy trust me as a jojo fan most of us act like we are gay cause u know haha jojo fan equal gay but in reality it’s just a joke us jojo fans do and never take it too seriously same way with the trap thingy so don’t get ur hopes up since when an anime tried to endorse the genders thingy like spice girls look how that turned out to be
@@Lemorexp lol, i don't think comparing jojo; an incredibly exaggerated and comedic show, to an anime that revolves around gender/identity as a topic is fair. tho i do agree to an extent, anime is probably not the place for such things. on the other hand, it makes me wonder why the world of manga was able to narrate these kind of stuff, and the readers being able to discuss these stuff seriously? is it a matter of the general audience? or just a loud minority?
the animation quality this seasons is off the charts wtf lol. can they maintain this level throughout the season? are these animators working themselves to an early grave?
I KNOW RIGHT?! The animation that Japan produces has been so phenomenal, and respectful of the medium itself, that it almost doesn't make sense that there are enough people on Earth to animate all this phenomenal stuff!!!
@@MolecularMachine Yes, but animators hate those interpolated frames, usually. It can mess with the pacing, but it's possible some new professional tool might exist that is customizable enough to give useful frames. I have not heard of such a thing yet, though, and I doubt it would be a well-kept secret.
it's more of a return to the levels we used to have pre ~2014, yet it is still below that level (mostly due to bad directing, overuse of filters, and lack of shadowing). but I'm still happy that the average show is getting prettier than what we've had for the last 10 years.
The Elusive Samurai is so good I genuinely accidentally fell down a real Japanese history rabbit hole. Also, knowing the real history makes it a LOT more dramatic.
I have to warn those not in the know that the manga has some a bit sus moments considering how young the main cast are. Nothing compared to average chapter of Made in Abyss but just enough that you should probably consider who do you want to walk in to the room when those scenes eventually happen.
Fun fact: the studio behind that anime is AtelierPontdarc aka the people behind Uncle from Another world anime (let's hope this anime doesn't go into development hell like that one did) and the creators of this series also created Love after World Domination (let’s hope it doesn’t get cancelled like that one did.
"My Senpai is an Otokonoto" was one of the first mangas that I completely read, and I was so hyped when they announced an Anime, then when it released I was even happier because the animation, art direction and Voiceactors are just so amaziing!!!
"And even has two-count 'em, two male friends with distinct personalities" but Geoff, that guy on the left is just that one potato friend from Eminence in Shadow
@@digi_hero I will always have a soft spot in my heart for the brave warrior, "Imatry Nottaloos." True to his name, he kept trying not to lose to the very end making it right to the final match against Cid's sister, Claire. I salute you, you beautiful background mob of a bastard.
Wistoria and The Elusive Samurai both grabbed my attention immediately with their beautiful, flowing animation. There's a lot of fantastic looking stuff this season, and I can only hope the story holds my attention as much as the action
I have not sat down and watched a full anime in about 2 years but watching these videos is giving me more anime knowledge than I have a use for at this point...
You know what we need now, an isekai quartet like adaptation just for the three non magic users, imagine Asta’s interactions with Mash while Will is trying to defuse the chaos 😂
Will helping Asta and Mashle with academics, Asta being the emotionally mature and supportive older brother, and Mashle organizing the mandatory gym days sounds like a great premise for an Isaki Quartet style show.
THNAK YOU so much for that list at the end i watch your vids every start of every season but I cant remember all of the suggested works so I have to scrub back and forth through your whole videos to make my lists. (Start off every season with literally all your suggestions and slowly whittle it down to my favorites which is a big time as you already know) Thanks for the suggestions as always
I'm gonna say it - the gags of Rick Flagg attempting diplomacy having only learned the language through prison slang and Deadshot accidentally being the worst cellmate ever to Ratcatcher have blown Shikanoko out of the water so far
The title alone makes it sound like something you would expect to be in a "hottest trash" not a "best of season". I'm going to have to check it out, especially because it sounds perfectly in character for the DC characters. (Amanda Waller 1000% would try conquering an isekai world with a suicide squad or 10)
Yeah it really is and also still good though one of it's episodes 4 had got missing SUBS I think the group behind it really forgot or just really wasn't paying attention for something. Really tough dealing with anime even more tough when getting the right words for said titles.
I don't think anyone expected Amanda Waller to be the one who does the ED dance in the Suicide Squad Isekai. She seems like the last person who would get down like that.
I had no idea Twilight Out of Focus got an anime!! That's so rad; the manga is excellent!! Can't wait to check it out, thank you so much for talking about it!!!
Fun fact for old anime fans! The Code Geass show has Dan Green from YuGiOh in it. It’s been so long since he’s voice acted in anime, due to being a single father, so it’s a pleasant surprise to have him back in the booth.
Small editing note, i like that you put the name and service of the anime at the begining of you summaries. Coule you also put them at the end of each summery. Sometimes I don't retain the name until the summery peaks unrest.
I think i'll give Too Many Losing Heroines a shot. It's hard to not be curious when the series was SO good that it got plans for an anime before it was even published.
this one is one of those that i have no look into the original blurb did nothing for me. but if i see enough people make good comment about it. I may start watching it
Just watched the first episode and it blew me away. Great atmosphere, great writing, the lead girl is an absolute force of nature in the best way imaginable. It's honestly the most I've enjoyed an anime in ages.
As a game designer, QA Isekai has been pretty brilliant in weaving in real elements of game design, actual common game development bugs, and the spectrum of personalities you find in the hardworking over-exploited shlubs whose unending hours of toil make games possible. The fact that it takes a surprising turn from "heh, this is pretty funny" to "holy crap, this just got real, existential dread levels of dark" has been icing on the cake. Also, the animation's pretty good.
I cannot believe Senpai is an Otokonoko is getting an adaption! I used to read it actively and was so heavily invested. It’s so good with deep characters, I hope it gets renewed past the first season.
Once again just absolute quality content. I always look for your season reccomendations every season. Only tuber i leave notifications on for. Never stop this is the G.O.A.T. of anime reviewer channels.
Just wanna say thanks for making the effort every season. I appreciate your perspective on the genre and these seasonal episodes really are what i use to decide what i'll check out this season. You often turn me to unique things that i would have missed.
YO This is one of the ENG Voice Actors for My Deer Friend Nokotan. Thank ya for including the show in this vid. Love your work (especially the Anohana vid you made in the past). Keep making the great material - and remember, YOU DEER
Just gotta say, since you mentioned people posting at the start of the season. My anime season usually starts with this video. I'll have a couple i was aware of and wanted to watch, but other than those i typically spend the first few weeks of the season catching up on things i put off until you drop your ones to watch. Thank you for putting so much effort into these. Keep it up!
All the shows I am watching this season (11) have been mentioned by you in this video! This somehow makes me happy! ^^ I got especially excited and touched at the same time when you mentioned Aoi Saki and Senpai is an Otokonoko basically at the beginning of your list. I really like her and this show, and I hope that, thanks to you, more people will watch it!
I would really appreciate a sort of “retrospective” of mid-tier animes from years past that you still think about. There are so many new good ones each year, it would be interesting to see which ones would be ranked higher if you were making their season’s Best Of video today!
Well I know the TH-cam algorithm sucks. But TH-cam doesn't have a good reputation. Certain TH-camrs do. Thanks for your efforts. Your recomendations are a must see for me.
@@Zlyde007 oh, I've finished them... they just continue to occupy my brain space long afterward. not every show will do that for me, like, some shows are only "on" when the episode is playing, but some leave you chewing on the material for months or years, and that's where I'm at with these two.
Every season I tell myself I’ll try almost everything that comes out but then I just don’t. LOL my attention span somehow just keeps getting worse and worse, and before someone gets snarky with me, no I don’t have and have never used TikTok.
@@TheSlipperyNUwUdle I have ADD so I totally understand this... I have a pretty severe distaste for tiktok (not saying individual tiktoks can't be good, but scrolling a tiktok feed is a sensory nightmare) so yeah... that's definitely not the issue for me either. tbh, the thing that helps me most is if I'm watching a show with friends at a regularly scheduled gathering. it helps if I'm excited to show them a thing I think they'd like, and if it's their pick, then they can basically hold me to it a little bit. obviously we'd drop a show if it was only a chore to watch, but I literally can't use my free time for things that I like and want, without a little bit of structure and dedicated effort. because ADD is just that annoying lol.
Yeah, everyone including the marketing team I knew about the movie due to the connection with ano and ikura-chan but i had no clue they were making it a series
this!! i fell in love with the manga two years ago and i've been looking foward to the anime since it was announced, and i'd say it's a really good adaptation from what i've seen so far. it's a shame that it's hardly been advertised outside of japan (i've heard it did pretty well on its big screen release over there) because it deserves so much more praise.
i watch your videos every season and always find something to check out without doing my own research! these are invaluable to me and i’ll watch for as long as you’re willing to put them out!
I am personally surprised with Bye Bye earth, so far. It is intriguing and seems to have good world building. It has good pacing, animation and music so far. It is one of those shows which can end up becoming a hidden gem or crash and burn in the end.
I really hope it ends up a hidden gem, because I’m loving it so far. If the story is good and the animation stays as good as it is, this could be the sleeper hit of the season.
I really hope that Bye Bye Earth was omitted from this video simply because it started late compared to other shows and Geoff couldn't get enough of a read on it. Because if that's not the reason, then it not being mentioned in this video at all is just tragic.
The novel it's based off is supposedly very good, but I couldn't find a english translation (not even a fan-tl) of it (same with the manga) in the usual places where I "borrow" them from a "friend", to confirm that.
24:01 Wistoria actually traumatized me with how beautiful and unexpectedly high-spec it was. I feel like I need therapy or counseling to deal with the myriad of feelings I ended up with after being blindsided by episode one.
one of the highlight of the summer for me so far. Good set up but it not as funny as Danmachi as it seem to be a more serious character then his previous work.
Thankyou Geoff for making these videos every season. My and my friends watch them every time they come out to help us determine what to watch in our weekly anime watch party. All your hard work is really appreciated.
You actually could have played the whole Shikonoko Nokonoko Koshitantan opening in your video just fine. The marketing team of this anime allows people to show them for free publicity
I know this will probably get buried, but I think Ramen Akaneko is also worth a recommendation to watch this season. As one could guess, it’s about the daily lives of cats running a ramen shop, following the human girl that comes to work for them. Funnily enough, I decided to pick this up because the Crunchyroll comments (before they got nuked) mentioned that the VA for Yor Forger also voices here as a socially-averse Tiger hand-making (err, paw-making) ramen noodles. It’s chill and the vignettes have decent pacing, so if you’re into that kind of short-form storytelling, give it a try.
Agreed that this is a fun show. I've been reading the manga for awhile (it's free in the Manga Plus app), so consider popping over there when the season's over for more goodness. The VA for Sabu gives him a much more little-kiddie voice than I had in my head, which bugs me but is probably just a "me" problem.
Wistoria definitely caught my eye. As did Ossan Newbie, though that may just be because it feels like it's taking a jab at the whole "adventurer's guild" style animes, since one of the strongest party's members just straight up "invents" modern firearms.
Honestly, considering how I'd place Ossan Boukensha in this seasons anime, I'm shocked other shows made it into this list above it. I love the manga and the adaptation is well done for the anime thus far.
I'm very happy to see Coco Fujiwara's final work get the gorgeous anime it deserves, and hopefully, a proper ending! Now I need to go track down which platform got the rights to "The Magical Girl and the Evil Lieutenant Used to be Archenemies"! The manga for "Dahlia" also had very solid writing so I'm very excited for that adaptation as well!
'Cinematic' is the perfect word for this season From shoushimin series to makeine to gimai seikatsu's beautiful slice of life direction; from wistoria to isekai suicide squad to elusive samurai's top class action animation; this season is just so fucking cinematic Makeine is definitely my top pick for new anime of the season. To hear that it was considered for an anime adaptation before it started serialising definitely makes sense.
I usually don’t comment on your videos because I usually feel like I’m not the target audience and my input is probably not needed, but just wanted to add a comment to help you with the algorithm, because I really think you’re the best reviewer.
I got super annoyed when I saw a popular reviewers video weeks ago titled "I watched every Spring 2024 anime" when not a single episode had aired yet. I will wait as long as it takes for integrity
@@NoidoDev most people are not tracking diligently when each new anime season starts, or know how many episodes if any have come out yet. It's manipulative clickbait and it's annoying.
@@kickflipindi I think they should put into the title that it is only about the trailers. But it also wasn't really upset about it. I don't think it helps anyone, if people watch the beginning of the video and realize it's only about trailers and then click away or even downvote it.
You were not kidding about Makeine; I've been trying to get through the first episode and I'm going to have to see it three times because I keep pausing it just to appreciate the individual shots.
Too Many Losing Heroines and Shoshimin are definitely the winners for me, super cinematic, gorgeous visuals, great animations, great dialog, and I absolutely believe that both will have amazing stories by the end of it. And they both have amazing openings and endings, amazing!! Would actually like to see you do one of your videos of "what's in an opening/ending" for either one of them
Thanks Jeff. I had cancelled my Crunchyroll subscription at the beginning of this season and was unmotivated to find what shows were worth watching this season
Alltough it must feel really bad to be 3 weeks behind everyone when it comes to recommendations please don't change that Geoff- Your vids are geniuently the only recommendations i trust and the comedic jabs are so much better with the extra time you have. Also PERRY the Minotaur literally got my rolling in my chair, thank you for your work!
Damn you, I was about to skip every single one this season (like those two finals I kicked to december) as nothing really caught my layz eyes, but then your marketing-able--as brought me actual reconsiderations to the plate. Thank you effing much, break a leg! haha
I think talking about the rise of anime and cartoon cross overs would be great. Harley Quinn in the Isekai and the superman one are big but not first since we've had leelo and stitch and Powerpuff girls before as anime cartoons
Honestly I am mad that crunchyroll disabled comments. I had not even heard of the anime when that happened. And I always enjoyed the conversations below the EP. Be it friendly banter or people explaining you why the whole action of Roxy to Rudeus felt forced and bad (because it was rushed in the anime)..
Comments on Crunchyroll are usually pretty extreme, but once you learn to read past that they can be incredibly useful for getting recommendations, status updates for the show, and just fun speculation. Also for judging how hype the show will be. Disabled comments is unfortunate.
Like all media companies, they found that when they started making garbage, people would comment on said garbage to say that it was garbage, and they didn't like that. I renewed by CR subscription last year after a few years without it and canceled within the first week. Pirate sites have better search engines, reviews and comments, faster streaming, and are more reliable in addition to having more shows. I'd pay one of those sites before I give CR money again.
Yeah, sounds like a nuclear option to a problem that could've been solved with moderation. Yeah sure people would complain about "muh free speech" and there will inevitably be unjust removals, but that's a far better alternative than just removing the ability to comment, if piracy sites with disqus can do it, then no reason a paid service can't maintain a comment section.
The thing about Dalia in Bloom is that the father, through no fault of his own, gives me the vibe of someone who's hobbies include his dog, his daughter, and the combination thereof
The DAD is too TUCKERed out to do anything nefarious, and generally SHOWers his DAUGHTER with genuine affection. Maybe your brain has grown distorted in this true-CRIME-ERA of media consumption, though I don't mean to come off as a preachy STONEd PHILOSOPHER or anything. I just wanted to emphasize that the show wouldn't stoop to being so FULL-MID ALL of a sudden. The OUTCOME IS Truly breathtaking, but I won't DOG anyone into giving it a shot. It's sure to be a hit among GIRLs, boys, and non-binary viewers with its COMBINATION of love, loss, and living with hope. I think perhaps you're BARKING UP THE WRONG TREE here, IT HURTS me to say, though a HUMAN CLUELESS is nothing NOVEL. I hope you aren't trying to PLAY WITH ME by insinuating something so dark, but if you meant every wretchED WORD, I wouldn't take ALPHONSE. I thought of a good way way to get back at you at first; I said, "I'LL RICK roll this clown until the HUES in his makeup MUST STING from mixing with his TEARS," to myself, but then I realized that music is meant to BRING us TOGETHER, not TEAR us APART, so instead I'll recommend you a great song from the '60's, from Scott Walker's brilliant album "3", _IT'S RAINING TODAY_ .
Man, I'm so shocked and hyped Senpai is an Otokonoko got adapted, the webtoons was SO good. More people need to check that format. Now if only we could get adaptations for Four Leaf, The Last Dimension, and Love & Be Loved
As a NieR fan, Yoko Taro is definitely gonna destroy my heart with this second cour. Also Dead Dead Demons Destruction is so good, its giving me Heavenly Delusion vibes and as someone who has never read any of the mangakas work but knows about Goodnight PunPun, I have a feeling this anime might just be my anime of the year
I did read Goodnight Punpun last year and it was worth it. It was the first second non-action manga next to Haikyuu I had ever read. I was shocked to see that none of my friends on MyAnimeList had been looking forward to Dead Dead Demons Destruction even though it is written by the author of Goodnight Punpun. Perhaps I could watch this, someday.

I want you to know your work doesn't go unnoticed lol. I respect your opinion so much that i legit wait until you post to start watching anime for the season. I dont have the time i did when I was younger to waste time on 13 different shows so now I pick 3 or 4 (on a good season) from your videos and stick with them. I am rarely disappointed 😂. MB is as crucial to my anime development as toonami was lol
As a full 30-something adult with a full time job, I always look forward to your recommendation videos because I don't have the time to figure out what's good and what's not. You have great recs. Thanks so much for doing this!

Thank you for explaining it better. Crunchyroll’s little blurb on Sempai is an Otokonoko didn’t explain the gimmick (probably for the reason you mentioned) and I dismissed it as a generic romcom. Got to check it out now.
I love relying on Geoff's recommendations for anime. You give such an awesome variety of different genres that I might never try if not for you. My tastes have been expanded tenfold thanks to you 😁
While I always watch those "Ones To Watch" video, it was actually useful beyond them being entertaining for once, since not much shows stood-out to me from their name/poster this season. Thanks!
Can I say, I really love your line delivery man. I don't know if the way you deliver your jokes is something you practice, or if it's just your conversational speech pattern but it's seriously great. You make me laugh when I least expect multiple times per video, and not just chuckles, full on smiles and laughs. Flippin love it.
Long time viewer, and I have to say Geoff, you are a treasure. The happiness I feel when I see my sub notification that you just posted is unmatched. The care and quality of your videos has always been 10/10 and I just appreciate all the work that goes into your videos! Keep up the incredible work and I hope the move to Japan has been great so far!
I'm enthusiastic about QA. The last person at work actually doing their job is such a relatable and virtuous character, I just have to watch. One you didn't mention was Bye Bye Earth, which is filled with multilingual Easter eggs and looks to have an insane/surreal world presented in a nonchalant deadpan. Unless it gets much worse, it is a contender for my favorite of the season. Alice's white rabbit eats everything, you crack crystals to get your bathwater or tea. You grow your sword by singing to it - and the god of Sword Land is a sword-cancer that is also a tree. (More descriptions with spoilers below) To become an adventurer you must "kill" your teacher whom you love (whose title is "alone" spelled backwards) after he curses you. Those whose swords wither are in danger of joining the undead army.
I'm so hype to see elusive samurai adapted! I've read that manga twice, and its artistic depiction of history is amazing, hilarious, and at times haunting.
Thanks for the effort Geoff, I literally don't start watching anything (other than ongoing series I know I like) until you drop these. Keep up the good work!

thank you for this.

Yeah tnat show is 10/10 for the season for me. Watched a episode or 2 of all these others. Writing is top knotch got you waiting for more.
The best part about it is the commitment to the bit, specifically, having Truck-Kun STILL be the violent menace of the multiverse even that far back in time.
The performace of the main character is easily the high point of the show. I'd say it carries it, but it's too good in other ways to disrespect it like that

Episodes 3 and 4 were very strong and emotional. I really hope the gender identity subject is well discussed and not get to a trash place...
kinda sad how degenerate the reception it got tho.
no one really want to talk about gender identity seriously, because only a minority of people experience it. a good bunch of people i see easily throws it to the 'trap anime' bin, and constantly memes about it. don't get me wrong, i'm glad it's getting attention, but it's not what i expected; especially seeing how insensitive a lot of the comments are.

The animation that Japan produces has been so phenomenal, and respectful of the medium itself, that it almost doesn't make sense that there are enough people on Earth to animate all this phenomenal stuff!!!
hopefully it has more to do with new talent and higher budgets 🤞
I wonder if new automated tools are being used in the industry. Have you seen videos where people use AI to add extra frames to their animations?
Also, knowing the real history makes it a LOT more dramatic.
that one i have no seen, i may look at it later this summer to see if i would enjoy it.
The fact that a bunch of Japan bros reaction to the show was "Shit, am I gay now?" was also hilarious.
Read the manga last year and stayed up to date with it, was thrilled to see the announcement of the anime adaptation.
And knowing it’s from the same mangaka as Assassination Classroom just makes it even better.
I have to warn those not in the know that the manga has some a bit sus moments considering how young the main cast are. Nothing compared to average chapter of Made in Abyss but just enough that you should probably consider who do you want to walk in to the room when those scenes eventually happen.

I really hope it ends up a hidden gem, because I’m loving it so far. If the story is good and the animation stays as good as it is, this could be the sleeper hit of the season.
not gonna crash and burn, the novel sereies both had great endings if they can keep up the quality it's a shoe in
I really hope that Bye Bye Earth was omitted from this video simply because it started late compared to other shows and Geoff couldn't get enough of a read on it. Because if that's not the reason, then it not being mentioned in this video at all is just tragic.

I’m not just mad about the removal of the comments, but also the reviews. Looking at ratings alone loses importance if we can’t see the reason why.
So apparently we have to thank transphobes for that, figures. I can only hope they will come back next season :(

As a NieR fan, Yoko Taro is definitely gonna destroy my heart with this second cour.
Also Dead Dead Demons Destruction is so good, its giving me Heavenly Delusion vibes and as someone who has never read any of the mangakas work but knows about Goodnight PunPun, I have a feeling this anime might just be my anime of the year
Today’s NieR episode fucking killed me already and the pain train is literally just beginning.
If it doesn't fall into production hell first that is
@@boshwa20 which anime?
@@prod.a.b.i.l1930 The Nier anime. Remember how the first cour was indefinitely delayed after ep 3?
I did read Goodnight Punpun last year and it was worth it. It was the first second non-action manga next to Haikyuu I had ever read. I was shocked to see that none of my friends on MyAnimeList had been looking forward to Dead Dead Demons Destruction even though it is written by the author of Goodnight Punpun. Perhaps I could watch this, someday.
Polymorphing into a monster with innate counterattacks is literally how I usually get the DPS to deal with the Minotaur in Nethack.
Now I will forever name it "Perry" in your honor when I ressurect the corpse as an undead minion
Nethack! Never really considered that method of beating minotaurs, that's fucking awesome!
Liking and commenting for the algorithm, Shikanokonokonokokoshitan-tan feels like the perfect level of absurd for my taste since my last Nichijou rewatch. Loving the content Geoff!
*long bow* thank you for all the effort you put into checking out the whole anime season every season. Mad respect and appreciation to you, Geoff.
Fun fact: the studio behind Isekai Shikkaku is AtelierPontdarc aka the people behind Uncle from Another world anime (let's hope this anime doesn't go into development hell like that one did) and the creators of this series also created Love after World Domination (let’s hope it doesn’t get cancelled like that one did.
Geoff, just so you know, I wait until this video every season to dive into any particular new anime. You are doinig God's work, keep it up!.
Thank you for explaining it better. Crunchyroll’s little blurb on Sempai is an Otokonoko didn’t explain the gimmick (probably for the reason you mentioned) and I dismissed it as a generic romcom. Got to check it out now.
It’s in the title.
I just want to thank you basement. Not only with season but for multiple seasons you’ve helped my process of consuming trash and I’m forever grateful
I love relying on Geoff's recommendations for anime. You give such an awesome variety of different genres that I might never try if not for you. My tastes have been expanded tenfold thanks to you 😁
That’s what I like to hear! Expanding Horizons is my number one goal
@@mothersbasement where's monogatari Geoff 😡
While I always watch those "Ones To Watch" video, it was actually useful beyond them being entertaining for once, since not much shows stood-out to me from their name/poster this season. Thanks!
Can I say, I really love your line delivery man. I don't know if the way you deliver your jokes is something you practice, or if it's just your conversational speech pattern but it's seriously great. You make me laugh when I least expect multiple times per video, and not just chuckles, full on smiles and laughs. Flippin love it.
Quality Assurance in another world is super underrated and deserves way more attention than it's getting
Mashle With Swords looks good but why is it so dang WINDY in every shot you showed? Like. Their hair is whipping EVERYWHERE
How else are the animators supposed to flex between fight scenes?
(More descriptions with spoilers below)
To become an adventurer you must "kill" your teacher whom you love (whose title is "alone" spelled backwards) after he curses you. Those whose swords wither are in danger of joining the undead army.
That sounds amazing, and I wish I knew more absurdist anime
I'm so hype to see elusive samurai adapted! I've read that manga twice, and its artistic depiction of history is amazing, hilarious, and at times haunting.
Thanks for the effort Geoff, I literally don't start watching anything (other than ongoing series I know I like) until you drop these. Keep up the good work!
