Yes. Introducing us to the show by describing it and letting the viewer decide if it interests them, instead of just telling the viewer what to think. Good stuff.
Given how a few "One's to Watch" ended up also on "Hottest Trash" in the past i think he learned it's healthier to just set up the premise and let the viewer decide. Most of the these anime only have 3-4 episodes at most when these videos are done. There's no guarantee wether the rest will continue the quality.
@Cure-Skywalker yeah I mean if it's a "one to watch," it's at least *interesting* which I've learned in my time gaining expertise in things is a more valuable metric than "good."
After the pandemic, my old work recalled all the Herman Miller chairs they had previously loaned out to everyone working from home, but not so they could refurnish the office. Instead it was to furnish a space they were renting out to another company. That's the moment I was radicalized.
Yo good news on Girls Band Cry - in Canada a lot of libraries picked it up through the Hoopla streaming service, meaning people can stream it for free with a Library card (though they limit how many episodes you can watch per month). I think there’s someone there who watches your channel, because they also seem to be the only place you can stream the OG Digimon in Canada.
I gotta say that Dandadan might have the best dub this year. AJ Beckles and Abby Trott just ooze so much fucking chemistry and really sell the "2 idiot kids" dynamic that Momo and Okarun have and develop throughout the series. If you can, you should watch Dandadan in dub it's absolutely incredible.
I'm really loving the dub but I think the chemistry between our two leads is actually the one thing that the sub is doing strictly better so far. Props to the dub translation, it's killer!
It’s been a while since I’ve heard a dub that feels just as natural as the sub. My issue with many dubs is they feel flat in comparison to the performances of subs. In general I feel like dubs have gone down in quality but would love if they would go back to being as good as baccanno HxH and full metal alchemist
Gkids handling distribution for dandadan is honestly really great in my opinion, it's made it so much more accessible and probably a lot larger than it would have been if it was relegated to just CR or just Netflix, and we likely won't have to wait 5,000 years for a home release or have to get a small loan to pay for it. It makes me want more big SJ properties to be handled by them, even better if they can go beyond that with other series as well. Best case scenario is that it'll hopefully make aniplex change distribution in NA but that's pretty pie in the sky. Maybe they'll even start picking up these shows that keep falling through the cracks.
As it turns out, it was just announced that TOHO would be acquiring GKIDS. Combined with the fact that their inhouse animation studio made Apothecary Diaries with OLM and they purchased Science Saru earlier this year, it seems like they're planning to get more involved in anime from start to finish, instead of just production like they had been before.
A historical note that I think is important: Heliocentrism was not considered heretical. The person who mathematically proved the heliocentric model: Nicolaus Copernicus, was a Catholic canon, and it was the Pope who told him to publish his findings. What happened with Galileo was not religion vs science, but a tale of egos.
Slight correction: while it is arguably more because of a tale of egos that Galileo suffered as he did, that tale occured because religion vs science was gaining ground (and to be clear, anti-intellectualism began with the Protestant Reformation and with the Protestants), and it was a case of "Oh yeah!? Well, _MY_ religion is more against science than _YOURS!"_ that led to the Catholic Church doing Galileo dirty - and it is was so Catholicism would stop losing members to Protestantism.
@@DavidRichardson153 Ahh yes, tale as old as time. The lives of intelligent humans lost in the pissing match between "my magical overlord(s) is better than your magical overlord(s)"
Yeah, I'm pretty sketchy on Orb because it looks like it's another perpetrator of the myth that the Church suppressed scientific developments in the middle ages. That's a story the French Enlightenment made up while they were executing priests amd nuns for not pledging loyalty to their Revolutionary government.
So happy that Natsume's book of friends is back! This series is so underrated and deserves more attention. Love Live is also amazing, glad to see Liella back
I was thinking about that the other day. This is a fairly obscure show by my understanding, how did it get to 7 seasons and counting? Not that I'm complaining, but it is odd. Maybe it's really popular in Japan?
@@RatoInsanoyeah natsume's book of friends is massively popular in Japan. Sort of the reverse of dragon ball's situation where it's not very popular in Japan, but is massively popular internationally.
Natsume has been my favorite anime for years. It hurts since I never have anyone I can talk to about it, no one knows it. It's crazy considering how many seasons it's gotten and it even has a cute mascot character that should at least be recognizable on its own.
My only qualm is that I have every single Mother's Basement TH-cam video and has nothing else to watch now. So thanks Jeff for making me addicted to your content
Luckily, this video has a few suggestions about what you could watch next. I mean, so do most of Geoff's videos. Even some of the pre-Chez-Garbage "why this bad anime is bad" videos mention good anime that do similar things! But this video is suggestions.
The enthusiasm you brilliantly blast while getting worked up in these videos ALWAYS makes the day better. Just joy and amusement, sir. You are doing good; thank you.
My mom's comments as we watched this, in order of anime (also Geoff my mom says she'll be praying for you, bc 1. covid sucks and 2. she worries about you overworking yourself): "I read the manga for this! I feel so cool for my age, now!" Followed by her pausing the video to gaze at Ken Takakura for a bit. Apparently the dreamboat qualities work on my mom, too. She punched the air and went, "Yeah!" when Rita Repulsa's role as a VA was announced. "I ship it. But I'll be honest, I don't love anyone enough to play badminton for them." "Uh, what about Dad?" "He loves me too much to ask me to play badminton." "An anime for people with dark humor and people who fish. So... your dad and I. It's for us." "'Three boys with two brain cells between them' is just any group of friends in high school. Until university age, a lot of boys are golden retrievers." Later, completely seriously: "This is still awkward than my high school dates. Ever gone on a date and realized you broke a guy's brother's arm as a kid and then had that make him more into you? It was... a lot." "Your dad used to bring me pirated VHS tapes of Ranma! He got them in Hong Kong from a man who sold anime, luxury rugs and hats for dolls. Ah, nostalgia..." And then she groaned because she's a psychologist with a Ph.d and Geoff misused the word psychopath, which is to psychologists as 'Cowboy Bebop at his computer' is to weebs. "I mean, as long as no underage kids are involved, this church is still not doing anything as dark as what the real Catholic Church did." Later, "Ew, Geoff has to deal with anti-vaxxers watching him? Poor thing..." "If you don't get that take on chairs, you're not truly an adult." "The man in a dress is my new boy-wife." "Mom, I told you before, they're called husbandos." "Not if they're wearing a dress." "Why doesn't Veltal just become a male model? He's gotta be qualified for that." Later: "Oh! Live-streaming is like that but with worse outfits. I get it." "We should watch this." Later: /sad, disappointed sigh at the use of the word 'psychopathy'/ "Oh, Geoffie." "Baby Goku! Baby Vegeta! They're adorable! My sons!" "Gundam is so complicated it's sort of like telenovelas for men, honestly." Bargain Bin: /unstoppable giggling when Geoff called himself old, because my mom is 65/ "I want a kami to show up and declare a ship preference." "This is adorable. I'm adopting them both." "Fangirl energy as plot point feels so obvious in retrospect. I'm here for this." "I want to live inside this art style." "If your name is Dolan, you either have to become the main character or a villain in order to get respect. Those are the rules." "This is roughly what it felt like to work in pediatric psychology my first year. People assumed I knew what I was doing and more I said I didn't, the more they kept going, 'Yeah! Knowing what you don't know shows you know things!' I don't miss that job." "Politics and romance would appeal to me, were this not an election year." "I was going to say 'this isn't that toxic' but then I realized I worked in pediatric forensic psychology for a decade. I think Geoff and I have different definitions of the word." "I'm adopting this guy and his mushroom dog. They need a mom." "Oh! I'd always thought about haunting you, but this is an option, too." "...Mom, that's terrifying." "Eh. You'd get used to it."
maybe I just skip the outro a lot and never noticed but I appreciate the hell out of the graphic at the end with the shows and an icon of where to watch it
The new Ranma series is SO much fun, I can't believe I'm waiting so excitedly for the next episode every week! The original was the first anime I ever fell in love with.
@@Technodreamer Kasumi is best girl and Ranma belongs with Akane, the Weakness Moxibustion arc shows that Ukyou doesn't get Ranma and his dedication being a great Martial Artist. Also, Akane is the one always helping Ranma and risking her injury or death to do so.
Love this video. Haven’t had much time to look into series from the new anime season because of work. But this puts it all in one place. Thanks a bunch.
That "let This Grieving Soul Retire" is probably the one I am the most interested in actually. I love the fake-ultimate hero types like Caiphas Cain (Warhammer 40k) or Princess Mia (Tearmoon Empire) where their reputation gets so huge that everything they do is hilariously misinterpreted as some grand plan or incredible wisdom when they are generally just trying to survive the chaos.
The Eminence in Shadow S2 also pulled it off on a level where I was barely able to breathe. The show went out of its way to show he's a moron with a truly childish understanding of economics.
You're gonna be disappointed then imo, because let this grieving soul retire is kinda dogshit honestly. Might just be me, but the episodes i watched have all been pretty subpar.
@@shuvelstone1331 It's yet another LN adaptation that's extremely mediocre. While I can't point to anything in particular that's _wrong_, there's nothing _right_ about it. All of the charm and humor from the written source are lost and basically none of the jokes land. The manga adaptation is pretty good, though. I hope some people at least give that a try (if they don't read LNs) before they give up on this series.
I was hoping to see Magilumiere pop up in the video and it did not dissapoint! As a longtime manga fan seeing it get the recognition it so much deserves has made me teary eyed, thanks ;v;. Enjoy the journey Jeff, it only gets better!!
I just wish it was on almost any other platform. It was one looked really interesting when reading through the list of anime this season, but I don't have and don't want Amazon.
Convinced to add a couple more to my list this season! Most notably Mecha Ude, holy shit that looks cool, and what a great production story. Thank you for your service o7
Watched ep 1 of Mecha Ude on a whim when it popped up in my CR recommendations, and immediately knew I'd be coming back for each week's release. So surprising that hardly anybody in anitube seems to be talking about it!
Dandadan, Blue Box and Magilumiere are three of my favorite recent Shonen Jump offerings and I'm beyond stoked all three of them are getting such beautiful adaptations worthy of telling their stories.
My Top 5 Fall 2024 Anime: 1. Orb: On the Movements of the Earth - Farmland Saga vibes 2. Natsume's Book of Friends Season 7 - Peak Slice of Life 3. Re:Zero Season 3 - Heard good things about the next two arcs 4. Dandadan - Wacky shounen with brilliant art direction 5. Blue Box - Wholesome comfy romance with sports mixed in
Poland Saga (Orb) is probably the anime I'm most excited to watch this season. It took a huge turn in episode 3 and I can't waiut to see what will happen next!
Thanks for the recs as usual. Glad to see 365 and You Are My Servant mentions as well. Can't believe I didn't make the connection to Mahoromatic lol. I watched that long ago and forgot that I did... The quick list at the end and where to find them is also really helpful.
Gonna get fat from all this good eating we have this season. Dan Da Dan grabbed my fiance and I from the first bonkers episode. And the Ranma 1/2 remake is as colorful and fun as we had hoped it would be. There's a lot to love in Fall 2024. Thanks for putting up the highlights for those of us who can't watch every single thing looking for all the winners.
love how Okarun's real name is just left out of the video entirely but Momo liking Ken Takakura was so everyone curious about the manga/anime will really have the full random bullshit go experience everyone had
Fall anime season is very cool in my opinion. There is everything for everyone. In my opinion, it is special and rich. For example, for me, the most interesting were: Dragon Ball: Daima, Bleach Dandadan and the remakes of Ranma 1/2 along with the continuation of the remake of Rurouni Kenshin (I know about the author, i'm not fan of hism as a person, please don't write to me about it). I can't say anything about the Blue Box, but it is quite good and even looks more interesting than Blue Lock, but we'll see what happens at the end of the season. Probably my favorites of the season will be Daima, Bleach and Dandadan. I really liked them, so they will definitely be in my top 3 best anime (unless something appears that can displace them). I am very happy with this season, this is approximately what I expected from it! It was great start!
Re:zero Bleach TYBW part 3 Dandadan IN THE SAME SEASON! Last time I had this much fun watching anime was when Frieren, apothecary diaries and delicious dungeon was airing
I appreciate that this is a 2024 video and I'm getting a bunch of OG anime recommendations as well as the present day titles they influenced. Media fluency is such a wonderful thing, and you wield it well. 10/10
I did a double take when I saw Mecha-Ude in the thumbnail. I was following the development of this show since the first video came out when I had barely started high school, but haven’t really followed closely since COVID. Can’t believe there’s finally a full length anime of it releasing. This is so surreal. I’ve just been sitting here with my jaw dropped. God damn I hope people are watching it.
I found out about Dandadan from a video you posted a short while back and let me just say THANK YOU!!! I've read 132 chapters in 3 days I cannot put it down this story is amazing and the characters are spectacular
Ya done good Geoff! Thank you for so thoroughly watching that much anime, whilst fighting off the plague. You are a gentleman and a scholar. Please accept this token of appreciation along with the like and share. 🏆
Additional selling points for 365 Days Until The Wedding: 1) From the author of The World God Only Knows, so you know the characters and romance will be well written. 2) Adaptation of a COMPLETED manga series with a satisfying conclusion. 3) Romance between adults which is super refreshing for those of us who haven't stepped foot in a highschool for well over a decade. Heck - even when I WAS a teenager, I was already getting bored with the same old highschool setting romance tropes. 4) True introvert romance. The main characters aren't uwu shy about everything or overly pessimistic - they just enjoy their own space, have their hobbies, and hate attention. They are perfectly happy on their own, but don't mind sharing their space with a special someone. They have great chemistry with each other. It feels true to my own experiences of introvert romance. 5) Cute cat. And maps - do you like maps? Maps are neat.
After that banger episode 2 of Re:Zero Season 3 I expected half of this video's runtime to be you screaming your love for that show from the heavens. Glad that I'm wrong though, this season looks fire. Thank you for your service, Geoff!
Grew up watching Ranma and loving it. Sadly was not able to finish it when I was a kid. I am happy they are doing the new one and much more manageable to watch. Shampoo is definitely BEST GIRL!!!
I demand a tribute to the late Leiji Matsumoto at some time! I am the old man Otaku around these parts and demand this tribute! Now to watch the video.
I love watching the ones to watch videos....at the end of the season. I can't do simulcast. But I appreciate seeing how you most often than not are able to pick great anime from one or two episodes alone. And also seeing your longer reviews later on and noticing if anything changed your opinion of the anime eventually.
Ranma 1/2 was also one of the my early anime that I specifically seeked put. Learning that it had *gasp* NIPPLES 😱 gave it a sorta seedy vibe that made young me really want to seek it out Of course ironically Ranma isn’t really that crude overall, but it’s still what got me in the door Was really excited for the remake and it’s been a delight so far

I found my dad's old Shadowrun books in my adolescent years, and ever since then I've yearned for other settings that mix science fiction and fantasy like that. Not fantasy stories which include some out-of-place alien spaceships or Ancient Technology that's basically just magic, not sci-fi so soft that it's oozing midichlorians, but something that incorporates futuristic technology and magic into a setting and makes both feel like they belong. Demon Lord 2099 isn't enough to fill that hole almost twenty years in the making, but it helps.
How did I not hear about a new Natsume season coming out?! It took me a long moment to realize just how much other great shows get new seasons too. Oh this is going to be good!
OH THANKYOU SO MUCH FOR THE LIST!!! idk if im just a silly but i dont think you've done this much before- its so helpful to have them all nice together for my enjoyment
UKYO is best girl - though she's probably not appearing until Season 2, so for this first season, Shampoo can have first place - except Nabiki also exists and I love my kanedere waifu.
Orb on the movements of Earth is my anime of the season and it's the hidden gem of the season. I also already see it as a contender for AOTY. It's unbelievable how unwatched the show is and after watching it's 3rd episode I can guarantee it's the best from the season we've seen so far.
A show that's good, but wasn't talked about in this video is; Puniru is a Kawaii Slime on Crunchyroll. This show has a very nostalgic feeling to it, it's not deep but it's just cute hearted fun about a boy accidentally being a slime to life and now growing up in middle school he's starting to regret it. It has the same idea as Ted expect no drugs. But Puniru is a cute show with enough gags to make you smile.
Thanks again for listing the names of the shows and where to find them. I rotate through streaming services and it makes it easier to go back to see what I missed on a particular service in the past. It is especially helpful when I decide to binge the entire season of an older series.
Orb is literally my favorite anime not only from this season but also of the year, which is not hard considering there weren't much animes I crazy liked all year, most of them are in fall anyway, and only other are kingdom, kinnikuman and kyuujitsu no warumono San.... Wow, that's a lot of K's, oh well, so so far orb is my favorite, well we will see what the others bring to the table, like danmachi and re zero
I normally dont comment, but my wife and I just watched the first episode of Dandadan and we were blown away. It was fun, exciting, the animation was stellar! Thank you for the awesome suggestion!
"Early 2000s ecchi nonense in Tying the Knot with an Amagami Sister." Oh good, I weirdly enough was looking for one of those in between all the wholesome ones. And shrine maidens made it a bonus. It was basically my 'fun' pick for manga, though I'm going to continue with the manga for the time being. I do keep running into someone saying it gets more intriguing later on. Also adding Dandadan, somehow saying Rita was in it won me over.
Ah, Ranma ½. The anime I first bought DVD's for. I read a fan translation of the manga, have bought as many volumes as I could get my hands on, and present it to friends as the harem parody before harem anime was a thing. Action comedy where the romcom elements are plot devices to get to the action rather than the other way 'round.
Maybe no one will agree with me. But for me, ' Orb: On the Movements of the Earth ' is the best anime of this season. Because it is simply the most realistic anime out of all the other anime. The anime shows us how, people's blind believe in their beliefs and do not accept any idea that contradicts what they believe in, can literally make them human monsters without feelings. The sad thing is that these things actually happened in our reality, and they still happen to some extent to this day in some countries that are still ruled by religion. It also shows us that no matter how many people believe in lies and superstitions and no matter how much they try to prevent anyone who contradicts their beliefs, they and their superstitions will disappear over time and the truth will remain. " People die over time, but ideas live forever. "
Hate to be that guy (especially since i am a hardcore atheist) but this isn't science vs religion but science vs science and galileo is mid. The idea that science and religion are different and even antithetical to one another is a pretty modern idea, back during these day science WAS religion. Being non religious was straight up not an option, atheism is something that was completly alien to people of this time EVERYONE INCLUDING GALILEO were religious. an ancient greek heliocentrist's arguments called aristarchus was literally "fire is the noblest element, so is the center, therefore the fireball is at the center"... Everyone rightfully laughed at this goober. Especially aristotle who believed the center to be kinda mid anyway and the outmost layers to be the G.O.A.T. in early christian theology the center was actually the bottom and that's why the heaven is up (further from the center of the earth) and hell down (closer to the center of the earth). Geocentrism just made the most sense and galileo insisted to include things like heaven into his model. That's right galileo was religious and tried to bend his findings to fit his religious views. So everyone laughed at this goober's theory that had holes big enough to fit hell and the heavens inside. A lot of his arguments were just flat out wrong, empirically so. He was also teaching his finding as facts when they really weren't. The church didn't believe galileo, but neither did the astrologists. Galileo wasn't a hack of course his findings were very interesting mathematically and that's part of why the church gave him the benefit of the doubt, they argued his theories were simply misguided. except galileo was a bit of a prick and got himself in all sorts of bad situations for ridiculing the wrong people right after they vouched for him (i'm sure nothing bad will happen after trolling the goddamn pope) Another thing is that the Church doesn't have a literal reading of the bible, that's why they didn't believe in flat earth even though some chunks of the scriptures do imply flat earth (earth having 4 corners and the earth having an end, yeah i know christians reading this will argue these could be idiom but the bible doesn't say the earth is round either so any implications of the earth being round could also be idioms). Now why in the world would christians accept a corpus of text that contradict itself, for example saying women are actually awesome and then say they are the weaker sex, i'll let christians -cope- i mean find an answer... Fact of the matter the Church is 100% ready to -cope- i mean rethink the teachings of the scriptures. because the bible, quoran and the torah looooooove saying 2 opposites, they can then pick and choose whichever fits their narrative at the moment and if that's not enough they can just bend the meaning of some word to still make it fit inside. That's how you get islam's supposed scientific miracles.
I really liked how the anime showed Kana clinging to Koshigaya as an older sister on their like, fifth or sixth interaction ever, something I hadn’t realized in the manga

Flash forward to 2022 and I'm watching one of the old tapes with my sister and her kids, showing them the old faves, when I heard it for the first time since I was probably 10-- I shazam'ed it and finally found it. Not only that, its on spotify! It's still my favorite song to this day, but I still have yet to watch Ranma 1/2 or the movie that was connected to the song that brought me so much joy. Thank you for reminding me, and for validating that that wasn't just me and my sister's experience. 1000/10 video as always, but this part made me a lil nostalgic for my childhood~ EDIT AFTER FINISHING THE VIDEO-- Yeah I'm watching the new series, I'm so down for this I cannot wait.

That's a story the French Enlightenment made up while they were executing priests amd nuns for not pledging loyalty to their Revolutionary government.
That myth gets annoying with how often it gets trotted out. Especially since Copernicus lived a hundred years earlier.
@@RatoInsano not that obscure at all. The manga sells like hot cakes and has for a long time
Yeah, I love Natsume. I thought it would never get a continuation since it’s been so long.
My only qualm is that I have every single Mother's Basement TH-cam video and has nothing else to watch now. So thanks Jeff for making me addicted to your content
Thanks for watching all of it! That’s a serious accomplishment
Luckily, this video has a few suggestions about what you could watch next.
I mean, so do most of Geoff's videos. Even some of the pre-Chez-Garbage "why this bad anime is bad" videos mention good anime that do similar things! But this video is suggestions.
I misslclicked and spawnkilled the video
Man i have so much anime to catch up, i was watching your Srping 2024 ones to watch when you released this. Im like 2 seasons behind 😭

One of the problems of having a lot of good anime 😂

love the polish inquisition joke in the chapter title
The enthusiasm you brilliantly blast while getting worked up in these videos ALWAYS makes the day better. Just joy and amusement, sir. You are doing good; thank you.
Geoff you had me at Rita, im watching Dandandan the moment I get off work.
Absolutely the same.
Dandadan is peak
I have never felt so positively about a shounen couple in so long ❤ the writing for those two is adorable
It's low-key actually awful. Unless you're 10 years old I guess, then the humor is for you.
My mom's comments as we watched this, in order of anime (also Geoff my mom says she'll be praying for you, bc 1. covid sucks and 2. she worries about you overworking yourself):
"I read the manga for this! I feel so cool for my age, now!" Followed by her pausing the video to gaze at Ken Takakura for a bit. Apparently the dreamboat qualities work on my mom, too. She punched the air and went, "Yeah!" when Rita Repulsa's role as a VA was announced.
"I ship it. But I'll be honest, I don't love anyone enough to play badminton for them." "Uh, what about Dad?" "He loves me too much to ask me to play badminton."
"An anime for people with dark humor and people who fish. So... your dad and I. It's for us."
"'Three boys with two brain cells between them' is just any group of friends in high school. Until university age, a lot of boys are golden retrievers." Later, completely seriously: "This is still awkward than my high school dates. Ever gone on a date and realized you broke a guy's brother's arm as a kid and then had that make him more into you? It was... a lot."
"Your dad used to bring me pirated VHS tapes of Ranma!
Poor thing..."
"If you don't get that take on chairs, you're not truly an adult."
"The man in a dress is my new boy-wife." "Mom, I told you before, they're called husbandos." "Not if they're wearing a dress."
"Why doesn't Veltal just become a male model? He's gotta be qualified for that." Later: "Oh! Live-streaming is like that but with worse outfits. I get it."
"We should watch this." Later: /sad, disappointed sigh at the use of the word 'psychopathy'/ "Oh, Geoffie."
"Baby Goku! Baby Vegeta! They're adorable! My sons!"
"Gundam is so complicated it's sort of like telenovelas for men, honestly."
Bargain Bin:
/unstoppable giggling when Geoff called himself old, because my mom is 65/
"I want a kami to show up and declare a ship preference."
"This is adorable. I'm adopting them both."
"Fangirl energy as plot point feels so obvious in retrospect. I'm here for this."
"I want to live inside this art style."
"If your name is Dolan, you either have to become the main character or a villain in order to get respect. Those are the rules."
"This is roughly what it felt like to work in pediatric psychology my first year. People assumed I knew what I was doing and more I said I didn't, the more they kept going, 'Yeah! Knowing what you don't know shows you know things!' I don't miss that job."
"Politics and romance would appeal to me, were this not an election year."
"I was going to say 'this isn't that toxic' but then I realized I worked in pediatric forensic psychology for a decade. I think Geoff and I have different definitions of the word."
"I'm adopting this guy and his mushroom dog. They need a mom."
"Oh! I'd always thought about haunting you, but this is an option, too." "...Mom, that's terrifying." "Eh. You'd get used to it."
She sounds like a riot
Your mom is amazing and sounds delightful.
Dawg your mom is hilarious and such a sweeetheart. These comments are a highlight of posting these videos every season!

maybe I just skip the outro a lot and never noticed but I appreciate the hell out of the graphic at the end with the shows and an icon of where to watch it
The new Ranma series is SO much fun, I can't believe I'm waiting so excitedly for the next episode every week! The original was the first anime I ever fell in love with.

Love this video. Haven’t had much time to look into series from the new anime season because of work. But this puts it all in one place. Thanks a bunch.
Happy to help!
@@shuvelstone1331 That is a shame to hear. I haven't watched any of it yet. Can you explain why you aren't liking the show?

Ranma 1/2 and Dandadan are my top picks for best anime.
I've been so hyped for both
My Top 5 Fall 2024 Anime:
1. Orb: On the Movements of the Earth - Farmland Saga vibes
2. Natsume's Book of Friends Season 7 - Peak Slice of Life
3. Re:Zero Season 3 - Heard good things about the next two arcs
4. Dandadan - Wacky shounen with brilliant art direction
5. Blue Box - Wholesome comfy romance with sports mixed in

I couldn't be: they removed the nipples in production.
I've known the magical girl manager for 5 seconds, and I already love him.
He's the best, reading the manga now and its really freaking good.
Thanks for the recs as usual. Glad to see 365 and You Are My Servant mentions as well. Can't believe I didn't make the connection to Mahoromatic lol. I watched that long ago and forgot that I did... The quick list at the end and where to find them is also really helpful.
Really hope with the new series you get to do a dedicated Ranma 1/2 video sometime. Best girl Ukyo Kuonji is how I learned about Okonomiyaki as a kid.

Literally caught up in Dandadan last week cuz of all the hype😂. it's worth the adventure, people
Fall anime season is very cool in my opinion.

Ya done good Geoff! Thank you for so thoroughly watching that much anime, whilst fighting off the plague. You are a gentleman and a scholar. Please accept this token of appreciation along with the like and share. 🏆
Additional selling points for 365 Days Until The Wedding:
1) From the author of The World God Only Knows, so you know the characters and romance will be well written.
Oh, the cats were on screen again! Hooray! (also thanks once again for a nice breakdown of all these different new shows)

I love watching the ones to watch videos....at the end of the season. I can't do simulcast. But I appreciate seeing how you most often than not are able to pick great anime from one or two episodes alone. Ranma 1/2 was also one of the my early anime that I specifically seeked put. Learning that it had *gasp* NIPPLES 😱 gave it a sorta seedy vibe that made young me really want to seek it out
Of course ironically Ranma isn’t really that crude overall, but it’s still what got me in the door

@justinbuergi9867 loner will probably be in the trash series. The first episode was so painfully generic I almost couldn't finish it.

Really glad to see mecha ude getting some love here!!
Stephanie Nadolny is back as kid Goku's VA!
So glad you gave Mecha-Ude a big shoutout, I'm definitely rooting for it to do well!
To be fair, Toriyama did have a decent amount of involvement in Super's anime. But yeah, Daima was the most he was ever involved in a post-DBZ series.
I'm glad you mentioned how good the OP and ED to DanDaDan are. Absolutely incredible.
DandaDan is peak. First time in a long time that an anime made me go read the manga. It's got my weenie and I don't want it back.😭

Ranma has been so good. Isn't the same style as the original and I like that. The current one is very heavy manga styled

It was basically my 'fun' pick for manga, though I'm going to continue with the manga for the time being. I do keep running into someone saying it gets more intriguing later on.
Also adding Dandadan, somehow saying Rita was in it won me over.

“Yaoi stuff for the straights” is really funny when you remember that yaoi is made by and for straight women most of the time
Ah, Ranma ½.
But for me,
' Orb: On the Movements of the Earth ' is the best anime of this season.
Galileo wasn't a hack of course his findings were very interesting mathematically and that's part of why the church gave him the benefit of the doubt, they argued his theories were simply misguided. except galileo was a bit of a prick and got himself in all sorts of bad situations for ridiculing the wrong people right after they vouched for him (i'm sure nothing bad will happen after trolling the goddamn pope)
Another thing is that the Church doesn't have a literal reading of the bible, that's why they didn't believe in flat earth even though some chunks of the scriptures do imply flat earth (earth having 4 corners and the earth having an end, yeah i know christians reading this will argue these could be idiom but the bible doesn't say the earth is round either so any implications of the earth being round could also be idioms).
A lot of good animes this season. Although not anime, 2 other shows that consist of my lineup for the season is Thunderbolt Fantasy Season 4 and A Herbivorous Dragon of 5,000 Years Gets Unfairly Villainized Season 2. The latter which comes with a banger of an OP. And while the JP OP is also catchy, I'm referring to the original CN OP.
13:35 Geoff I have never felt more seen-- I need you to be aware of the fact that while I have never watched Ranma 1/2 mostly because finding it in its entirety as a young adult was impossible for me, I LOVED the pokemon VHS tapes and the song from the Ranma 1/2 movie "Big Trouble in Nekonron China" purely because of them-- The song in question ("It's Love" by Rabbit) is an absolute BANGER, however I had NO idea what is was and since shazam didn't exist back then whenever someone asked me as a child what my favorite song was "Yknow the one from the pokemon tapes" was my answer and 9/10 they knew. 1000/10 video as always, but this part made me a lil nostalgic for my childhood~
EDIT AFTER FINISHING THE VIDEO-- Yeah I'm watching the new series, I'm so down for this I cannot wait.
