Hope you found this helpful! Also at the moment when you buy Trigger 2, you the CLA expansion pack for free! This pack has some killer snare samples in it! Definitely worth checking out :)
What a time to grab this. I remember way back in 2017 when I started learning to mix and had to order iLok from Amazon US, shipped to the Philippines, just to buy and use Trigger and CLA expansion. What an expensive hobby this is 🤣
Wow! What a killer tutorial! Thanks so much! I own trigger and have been totally missing alot of these key tools. And the panned send is a genius idea.
It's rare when I learn anything new these days but that last tip about the articulations was sooooo helpful. I actually had no idea Trigger 2 had that feature. Now when I program softer hits, I'll automate Trigger to switch to the softer articulations and play around with it until it sounds hopefully better than before! Thanks for the video.
Please make a post with clearer explanations about using the Trigger Instrument Editor and the procedure for adding personal samplers to the Trigger library...Thank you! There are many who are waiting for this information!🥰 Greetings from Paris (France) 🥰
Nice tips! I do have a question though. How do you go about programing trigger with something like a marching snare roll? I have a song where I tried getting it to do the roll but it ended up sounding fairly weird, got any tips?
It’s definitely hard to get that thing right - if it’s an accented marching roll - then usually I would get the accents triggering and use the real snare to fill the gaps. Or make a second instance of trigger and limit its velocity to softer notes and use that as the in between accents sound. If that makes sense. It’s a pain to do, trigger is best on simpler stuff, not overly complicated ghosting and marching stuff.
@@spinlightstudios this is actually solid for what I wanted to achieve so thanks! I just didn’t want that part to not have any samples as then it would be obv and my goal is to get the sample be a focus in that particular production.

Agreed, it’s a bit more technical but it’s great!

No worries mate!
Been using T2 for a while.. Great tips man.
Cheers man!
Very educating.. great video..what kick samples are you using on the track?
very helpful thanks!
No problem!
Since Pro Tools doesn't offer custom click sounds, I sometimes use this on top of a click track to add my own sounds lol
Haha that’s clever!
Perfect explanation! Do you prefer to use TCI or OneShot usually? Cheers!
TCI generally, and oneshots of the drums don’t have load of fast rolls - avoid that machine gun sound
Waiting for programming drums mixing 😊😊😊
It’s coming!
@@spinlightstudios okay I am waiting. And thank you for the other tips and tricks sir ☺️
Thank you for this!
No problem!
@@spinlightstudios just to add. I've watched quite a lot of your content and it's very good. The shorts are excellent, as are the vids. Thanks again!
I always seem to miss a chance at getting on one of your mix critiques. How can I find out about this? Thanks! Love your channel
Hey Matt, you could join the patreon page - there is a free option -
I’ll put a post on there next time I do one!
@@spinlightstudios thanks so much! I have joined but I don’t really know how it works. How would I be notified? Sorry, I’m old lol
how do you get your toms to sound like that. mine are crap
Tuning & heads is a good place to start - half decent mic and placement and then just using a gate/expander - EQ and Compression 😁

Real novice question... can you use the samples with midi drums programmed in Logic?
You could load trigger onto your midi drums or on a duplicate and it would act the same as using it in live drums
But it can’t be controlled via midi
Cheers for that... just thinking that some real samples would help the sound of my drums 🤓
I have definitely used trigger with midi drums many times before.
Chum for the algo. Cool vid, Rhys. Cheers.
Thanks mate - got some midi drum stuff planned! That’ll be on its way shortly!
@@spinlightstudios That would be very cool. Looking forward to it.
Awesome
Cheers!
Very educating.. great video..what kick samples are you using on the track?
I’ll take a look and report back. Maybe kick 01 or kick 10 or maybe panty kick.
