    To me personally, the original snare drum sound way better than the sample. Love that ring. Anyway we could buy that snare as a TCI file from you? No jokes...

      Which DAW are you using? And are you dragging it to a MIDI track?

    Great tutorial, J! Thanks a lot!
    As an improvement to this workflow in PT I'd suggest using an instrument track right from the start since you can surely bus your audio thought it just the same, then you don't have to bother changing that for the MIDI part… ;-)

      Hmm, yeah that might work. Not sure it would receive the bussed audio in the same way though. I’ll try it out and see. Or, if you get a chance to try, let me know!
      Thanks a lot man 🙏

    Great video on Trigger 2, much appreciated! The only question I have is on MIDI playback on logic. Once I create a MIDI track and transfer the midi capture to that track, why am I not getting any signal? I sent the track into the same AUX channel that I have trigger running on and set the note to D1, but I’m not getting any signal on that new MIDI channel.

      A few people have asked me the same question, so I just recorded a video for you.

      @@JamesArterMusic appreciate the reply, but I got it figured out. The issue was only regarding the specific note settings for midi In on trigger, setting up trigger on the new Midi track instead of sending to through the aux, and disabling the L/R pre fader sends of the snare and click tracks.

    Can I use trigger 2 on a kick track and have it replace while playing or will it only work on recorded audio?

    • @JamesArterMusic
      @JamesArterMusic  หลายเดือนก่อน

      In Live Mode - check the settings - you technically can. Might not be super accurate but should be decent - worth a shot!

    Great Great Video! Can you tell me if there is a way to do the normal midi capture feature with trigger 2 and get the midi to somehow trigger the kick, snare, and toms into superior drummer 3 drum kits? I use superior a ton and I know it has a tracker also but the steps are longer. But man it would be great if Incan use trigger 2 to capture the midi and use the superior drum kits! Do you have a way for this? Thanks again for great Trigger vids!

    • @JamesArterMusic
      @JamesArterMusic  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Of course!
      Once you’ve done the MIDI capture, you can just use that to play back any software instrument. Just set the correct MIDI note for each kit piece before the capture (although you can still adjust afterwards in the MIDI file if you need to).
      Depending on which DAW you’re using, you’ll be able to playback from the MIDI chance on put it on an instrument channel. You can just copy and paste the MIDI notes from each kit piece onto the same MIDI channel.
      Make sense?

    • @lenkinadapa7241
      @lenkinadapa7241 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Oh man this is mind blowing! Ok so I can have kick, snare, and toms (5 tracks total) all on separate tracks that were recorded live, then insert trigger 2 on each individual tracks to capature midi, then assign the midi notes to the notes to “one of the drum kits” on one instrument track with superior drummer 3 inserted. In other words, can it be done with superior on one instrument track and all 5 tracks be midi routed with the proper midi numbers all routed to a that single instrument track or do I need to have 5 instrument tracks with superior on each of the tracks? I will be experimenting tomorrow to try to figure this out for this is all new to me. I I cant thank you enough for getting back to my post!

    • @JamesArterMusic
      @JamesArterMusic  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah, you got it.
      Superior drummer basically just wants a MIDI track (or instrumental track) to play it back, Trigger is just creating that for you, albeit on separate tracks.
      Just copy the data from each one over to one MIDI or instrument track, and that’s what you’re using for SD.
      Let me know how you get on!

    • @lenkinadapa7241
      @lenkinadapa7241 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey James, I was able to merge the separate drum tracks into one instrument track! And was able to map the midi to the correct midi notes for the individual drums, however there are apparently more than one midi note assigned to to each drum. Example there are many for the snare like Center (this what I set the number) then there is rim, sidestick etc midi notes which I didn't set because I don't think the sample has all that information. So I just set them to center and I get the sound but don't know what to set the other numbers to or even if I can. What do you think? Thanks again-James!!

    • @JamesArterMusic
      @JamesArterMusic  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Is this in Superior Drummer? I think so.
      Just set to centre, that’s the main hit. The other ones are different articulations. For example, you can switch the note to that articulation if you want it to play that back, otherwise, just leave it on Centre

    Do you run the plugin on an Aux track bussed through the original or are you just duplicating the original Audio track, running the plugin on that then blending the two?

    • @JamesArterMusic

      I think it says in the video but I’m running in on an AUX, it’s allows for more control over the suppression.

      Hello there Twister! I believe I met you last week - I was playing with Temples On Mars! Hope you're well.
      You could try a different installer.
      Login to your account on Steven Slate, go to Products>Offline Installers, and try using the 2.1.3 installer. I know that's been a bit better with Pro Tools.
      Also, if you have SSD5.5, go to that section, Offline installers, and try the Mac Plugin installer.
      That's presuming you're on Mac.
      Let me know how you get on!

    Should my kick, snare, rack Tom, and floor tom channel strips be mono or stereo?

    • @JamesArterMusic
      @JamesArterMusic  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They would all be mono - just as they were recorded. It’s just the Trigger track that’s stereo.
      Hit me up with any other questions.

    when you said about the tsi does that mean only tsi stuff can be loaded or can i load an wav sample in it?

    • @JamesArterMusic
      @JamesArterMusic  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can load any WAV in and I often do so - especially for one-shots.
      A TCI is just far more detailed as it’s essentially a multi-sample instrument, usually with multiple hits and varying velocities

    Will this work by plugging a drum trigger into audio interface without a module or is there plug-ins that exist like that?

    • @JamesArterMusic
      @JamesArterMusic  ปีที่แล้ว

      Are you drum triggers converting to MIDI or just audio? I guess it could technically worth with both audio and MIDI but make sure Live Mode is enabled in the settings to get low latency

    what would happen with insert trigger 2 on the snare track directly ? sending two signal and suppress the other for get a pure sample enhance ?

    • @JamesArterMusic
      @JamesArterMusic  ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s not the best way to do it as you don’t have as much control. Although, it can be different depending on which DAW you’re using - which one are you using?
      Also, you won’t be able to do the suppression part without having it on an AUX/bus as you need be able to route two separate signals
