Great instructional video! The close ups are very handy. It even included post instillation instructions. The only down side is. It didn't include instruction on trigger adjustment screws.
Glad I found this video. I'm about to install my new Timney and have been curious about the torque specs. Also appreciate the many safety post installation safety checks. There were a few I hadn't though to perform BEFORE I go to the range.
I've found this works great on any 700, but had to make a few changes for the Model 40X. I could not remove the front pin first, as the bolt release lever was covering the hole. I had to remove the rear pin completely, along with the bolt release lever and spring, then remove the front pin. I suspect they may use oversize pins on the Model 40, as removing and reinstalling them was far more difficult than the Model 700's. Other than that, every other procedure covered in this video is identical between the rifles.
WARNING! Too tight! @ 4.10 the dude says tighten action screws to 60 in/lb. The Remington Arms Co website advises that for wood and synthetic stocks use 30 in/lb and no more than 35 in/lb. I was working up to 60 in/lb as advised here by Brownells but thought "this is way too tight!" and stopped to check if Remington gave advice. They did - 30 in/lb. I don't think those screws are coming undone anytime soon. Good function check advice though - thanks Brownells. :-)
Fist thing I noticed was how the pin punch had slipped off the pin and scratched the area around it. This is very bad gunsmithing. This guy is rough as ….

Thank you Brownells. You answered what Remington couldn't!

Just finished installing a Jewel trigger on my 700. This video made it easy. Thanks!
I like how he never calls it a "Trigger System". Great video with excellent instructions.
Thanks Brownells, that's a fine video. I appreciate the time and thoroughness that was put into this video.
