@@arantxasanchez-cruz342 Yeah sadly donations do hit the landfill at some point but Goodwill does the best they can to minimize the amount with first selling at the retail stores, the bins, auctions, and textile recyclers. I was told during the tour that Goodwill receives hella donations to sustain their sales daily not accounting the inventory that is rotated from other Goodwill locations. So, they're handling thousands of pieces of clothing so eventually it'll go to the landfill after traveling through the other ways of selling.
So interesting to see the process! as a side note I’ve heard that when removing your mask to eat/drink/talk to camera, it’s safer to take it off entirely (from the elastics) rather than pulling it down to your neck bc doing so exposes the inside of your mask to your previously exposed and possibly contaminated neck area! just something to think of, want you to stay safe~ 🙏🏼

It was so cool to be BTS at the Goodwill Outlets! What I enjoyed most was seeing their inventory of items that would be shot and uploaded to their website! They had so many cool items from books to Mac’s. 🔥 🔥 🔥

I love goodwill outlets. The one in my area can be gross so I always wear gloves but you can find some great stuff. I find a ton of slip dresses and corsets. The people in my area are more conservative so they don’t really buy that stuff so it ends up there.

TBH I didn’t think we’d rummage through the bins this day but we had exclusive access to film so it was awesome! But, i was only looking through bins for that single clip. They had plenty of hand sanitizer throughout the building 😬😬😬
Goodwill has workers that sort through the clothes determining what is sellable. It then stays on the retail floor for 4 weeks until it hits the bins. I wasn’t able to film the actual workers or show their face so I didn’t elaborate too much on the specifics of sorting and tagging. The site sells more luxury, designer brand pieces. The bales go to auctions, textile recyclers, or developing countries. The muts are what travel to other goodwill locations to switch out older inventory!✨
hello i noticed that you are touching the outside of your face mask a lot in your thrift videos and you’re not supposed to do this because germs can actually stay on a mask for up to 7 days. maybe invest in one that fits you better so you don’t have to keep pulling it onto your nose. please stay safe. love ya x
Ahhh thank you for looking out! I’ve been looking for a better fitting mask for a while now. I currently have 4 and they all seem to slip off my face a lil. I thought having elastic straps would fit snug but I think I might have to look into possibly kids masks for a better fit! Or I might just have to cut and re-attach the straps cause this is my fav mask handmade by my neighbor!! Thanks so much! Hope you’re keeping safe and healthy!🥰✨
hi!! i just wanted to ask if maybe instead of taking down your mask you could put subtitles and then keep the mask on?? i understand that you may be taking the mask down so it’s easier to understand you for deaf/hard of hearing people, but i would hate for you to get sick from constantly moving your mask!! i also know it takes longer to put subtitles while editing but it may be a good idea to keep you safe! ❤️
