THANK YOU for showing your palette! It can be hard to judge how concentrated to make the paint, but this helps a lot. I just bought a dagger brush, so I'm going to do some drills.

They are very nice brushes. I haven’t tried any other brands so I don’t have anything to compare them to. They aren’t a snap brush,which I haven’t tried either, but I do like these ones. They are imitation square.

Just found your channel, love the dagger brush tutorial. You make it look so easy, I find joining two brush strokes to make a fatter leaf so hard, so I’ll just keep practicing.

I just bought a 1/4 inch Princeton synthetic squirrel dagger from Amazon. it’s so long, and floppy (because squirrel ) having a tough time. But am determined to understand it better.
The dagger brush can take some practice to get the hang of. I have found that Artegria brand dagger brushes are not quite so long and floppy and are a little easier to control if you’d like to look into it. Of course it comes in a set of all different sizes of brushes, but it might be worth a try. Your video and speaking are lovely. I went to the link and the dagger brush received less than happy reviews on Amazon. Damaged or used brushes etc received. Makes me hesitate to purchase😢
Aw! 🥰 Thanks Ann! That’s too bad about the reviews on the brush. You should only get it if you’re sure! I took the risk and the one I ordered has been fine, but you never know what you might get! 🤷♀️ There might be better quality dagger brushes out there though. 😊
Thanks for watching Cathy. You might enjoy my more recent tutorials more than these old ones. I was still new to creating videos and I have learned since then. The ones I put out now are zoomed in often, the pace can be slower and easier to follow and if I have a reference picture I try to show it a portion of the time. I know you were looking at the iris before, and I do have a newer wild iris video with all of these elements. I wish you had zoomed in with these paintings so it is beter to see what you are doing with your brush. Mostly for painting four.
